In a dispatch posted at 8:48pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that violent fighting was raging at that moment between Resistance men and US troops in the as-Sufiyah district and al-Mal‘ab neighborhood of northern and central ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US helicopter gun ships were taking part in the battle and that the area had been completely closed off, no one being allowed in or out and no information being available regarding casualties.
Al-Habbaniyah.
US troops kidnap six-year-old girl to force Resistance fighter father to surrender.
In a dispatch posted at 5:53pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces kidnapped a six-year-old elementary school girl, Maryam ‘Abdallah, as she came out of her school in al-Habbaniyah, 90km west of Baghdad, on Thursday. Reports from al-Habbaniyah indicated that Maryam is the daughter of Shaykh ‘Abdallah al-Mar‘awi, a Resistance commander, and the abduction was apparently with the aim of pressuring the girl’s father to surrender.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the girls uncle as saying that US troops abducted the girl in order to pressure her father into giving himself up, after they had failed to capture or kill him.
The uncle told Mafkarat al-Islam that Maryam’s mother had a heart attack and was rushed to the al-Fallujah General Hospital in an ambulance after people brought her her daughter’s school bag and one of her daughter’s sandals following the kidnapping.
Maryam, a first grade student was abducted by US troops as she left her school. The American soldiers put her in a Humvee and killed four youths who tried to free the little girl from their clutches.
Heavy mortars pound US base in al-Habbaniyah Thursday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 3:38pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces fired four heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the US al-Habbaniyah air base, about 90km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Jaffah area west of al-Fallujah as saying that the barrage set off two powerful explosions inside the base and sent plumes of smoke and dust rising over the area. The witnesses reported hearing sirens wailing inside the facility.

Hundreds of families sleeping in cars, trapped by Baghdad regime’s closure of borders.
In a dispatch posted at 3:18pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that more than 430 Iraqi families have been trapped on the Iraqi side of the border with Syria after the US-installed regime in Baghdad closed its border.
The al-Qa’im correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the families are now sleeping in their cars outside for the second straight night. The Syrian government has agreed to let them into Syrian territory but the authorities in US-occupied Iraq are refusing to let them cross out of Iraq.
The order to close the border came as a part of the US-imposed “security plan” being carried out in Baghdad.
Rawah.
US soldier reported killed in bomb attack east of Rawah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:36pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column on the main road east of the city of Rawah, about 315km northwest of Baghdad, on Thursday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Rawah as saying that the bomb, which was planted by the road near the city disabled a US Humvee, killing one soldier and wounding two more of them. Afterwards, US troops completely shut down the highway, forcing people to use dirt roads to get around the area between the cities of Rawah and ‘Anah.

Iraqi Resistance launches counteroffensive against Bush − al-Maliki “New Baghdad Security Plan.” Fierce fighting rages in al-A‘zamiyah Thursday night.
In a dispatch posted at 5:46pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance had launched its counterattack on the Bush − al-Maliki “New Baghdad Security Plan.”
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported an informed source in the Iraqi Resistance as saying that the zero hour had come, the Resistance men put their trust in God and launched their attack.
The commander called on Muslims throughout the world to pray for the victory of the Resistance fighters and bring them victory.
The correspondent reported that all the Resistance organizations were intensifying their operations an movements. The source said that, “the Islamic State of Iraq, the Islamic Army, the Ansar as-Sunnah, the Armies of the Rashideen, the Mujahideen and the Fatiheen, and others were all acting like one body today.”
Witnesses said that at the time of reporting, fighting was raging between the Islamic Army and US forces on the road to the airport in the al-‘Amiriyah area opposite the al-La‘ibeen neighborhood.
In a dispatch posted at 10:35pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier fierce battles erupted between US troops and Iraqi Resistance fighters in the Baghdad area of al-A‘zamiyah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that US troops were at that hour trying to storm into al-A‘zamiyah, but the Resistance was hitting back, striking any force that tried to cross into the district near the Abu Hanifah Mosque area via the bridge over the Tigris from the Shi‘i area of al-Kazimiyah.
The correspondent reported that swarms of US helicopters were crisscrossing the skies over the area at that moment. Three wrecked American military vehicles could be ssen on Khalifah ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz Street and on an-Nu‘man Square.
Resistance fighters intercept US troops trying to enter district in ad-Durah Thursday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 6:05pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier combat broke out between Resistance fighters and US troops who had tried to storm into the al-Mahdiyah area of the southern suburb of ad-Durah in Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance men from inside the area attacked the US troops in the area of the railroad to the east of al-Mahdiyah. At the time of reporting, the Resistance men were trying to inflict casualties on the Americans by sniping at them and also by direct firefight, in an effort to prevent their getting into the district.
Powerful bomb shakes “Madinat as-Sadr” Thursday afternoon killing prominent leaders of Muqtada as-Sadr movement.
In a dispatch posted at 5:07pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, a powerful explosion shook the Baghdad area nicknamed “Madinat as-Sadr,” a stronghold of the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the city.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the blast targeted a group of sectarian gunmen gathered in the al-‘Awrah market in the middle of Madinat as-Sadr. Ambulances raced to the scene of the blast together with puppet army and police vehicles.
In a dispatch posted at 7:34pm Makkah time Thursday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that follow-up information indicated that 27 people had been killed or wounded in the explosion. The car bomb, a white 1982 model Crown, was detonated by remote control by the office of the Sadr Movement on Muridi Street. The casualties were taken to the Imam ‘Ali Hospital in the district. Among those killed in the attack were ‘Ali Husayn ad-Darraji and ‘Abd al-Muhsin Kazim al-Kannani, and Abu Hudhayfah as-Sadri − all prominent commanders in the movement led by pro-Iranian cleric Muqtada as-Sadr.
Two car bombs target Shi‘i sectarian gunmen, puppet regime troops in ad-Durah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:44pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a checkpoint manned by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” near ‘Ulwat ar-Rashid in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.
Six Sunni youths had been taken captive by the puppet troops at that checkpoint a day earlier, the correspondent reported. The bodies of all six were found shot to death and dumped on a nearby garbage heap after their abduction.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the car bomb explosion killed seven “Shock Troops,” including the commander at the checkpoint, and wounded 20 more, among them 11 Shi‘i sectarian militiamen and nine Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen working within the so called “popular committees” that have been permitted to provide support for the puppet Iraqi armed forces under the “New Baghdad Security Plan.”
A second car bomb went off at the ad-Durah junction opposite the ad-Durah electric power station, killing or wounding 15 Shi‘i sectarians who were standing at the intersection around a group of puppet “Interior Ministry” cars.
The correspondent reported that none of those killed in the bombings were civilians − either Sunni or Shi‘i; all were either members of the puppet regime security forces or sectarian militias − despite reports by the puppet regime that all the victims were civilians and that women and children were among them.
Resistance car bomb kills puppet official in charge of operations in al-‘Amiriyah Thursday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance car bomb had exploded by the official in charge of operations in the al-‘Amiriyah area, Colonel Sa‘d al-Fatlawi, in the Nafaq ash-Shurtah area of western Baghdad.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that an explosives-laden car that had been parked by the side of the road in the area went off killing al-Fatlawi and one of his companions and wounding three more puppet army troops. Four civilians were also moderately injured in the attack.

In a dispatch posted at 1:47pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US and puppet Iraqi troops together with Shi‘i sectarian militias continued their “security crackdown” on Baghdad Thursday, filling Sunni districts with large numbers of troops raiding and searching homes and shops.
The correspondents for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from Baghdad that the US forces together with their Iraqi puppet and sectarian allies raided the districts of al-A‘zamiyah, as-Salikh, al-Fadl, ad-Durah, al-‘Amiriyah, al-Ghazaliyah, the neighborhoods of al-‘Adl, al-Jami‘ah, al-Jihad, as-Sayyidiyah, az-Za‘faraniyah, al-Fahhamah, ash-Shaykh ‘Ali, Hayfa Street, as-Salihiyah, al-‘Allawi, Nafaq ash-Shurtah, ash-Shurtah ar-Rabi‘ah, al-‘Amil, and other areas and streets where Sunnis predominate. The Americans and their local allies used police dogs in raids in which they also wrecked household furniture and belongings, the correspondent reported.
The correspondent said that in all more than 60 local residents had been arrested so far, all of them residents of those districts. Sunni mosques were empty for the second day running following reports that Shi‘i sectarians had arrested worshippers at the Bilal al-Habashi mosque after dawn prayers on Wednesday.
Resistance bomb leaves three US troops reported dead in Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah Thursday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 11:41am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by US patrol in western Baghdad Thursday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the al-Ghazaliyah area went off by a passing US patrol at 9:30am local time Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses who live in al-Ghazaliyah told the correspondent that the blast disabled a US Humvee, killing three US troops and severely wounding a fourth. The witnesses said that American troops responded by opening fire indiscriminately into the area after the blast and then closed off the whole area. They called in reinforcements and hauled away the wreckage and evacuated the casualties.
Bomb targets Shi‘i sectarian workers at US military base in north Baghdad suburb.
In a dispatch posted at 11:21am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that on Thursday morning an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a vehicle transporting a group of Shi‘i sectarians who work in the military camp in at-Taji used by US and puppet Iraqi army forces.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb in the northern Baghdad suburb completely destroyed the vehicle, killing five of the sectarians and wounding seven more of them, some of those severely. Eyewitnesses said that Iraqi puppet forces hurried to surround the area after the blast.

Resistance barrage rocks US-occupied base in Yathrib Thursday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired six 82mm mortar rounds into the US-occupied al-Bakr Air Base, located in the Yathrib area, about 70km north of Baghdad on Thursday morning.
The ad-Dujayl correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of Yathrib who witnessed the attack as saying that barrage on the al-Bakr base, known to the Americans as Camp Anaconda, set off thunderous explosions inside the facility that sent clouds of smoke and dust rising into the sky. US helicopters hovered over the area for a long time after the attack.
At-Tarimiyah.
Resistance bomb kills puppet “Shock Troops” in at-Tarimiyah early Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:16pm Makkah time midday Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by puppet police patrol in at-Tarimiyah early on Thursday morning.
The at-Tarimiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of he main road to at-Tarimiyah went off at 6:30am local time Thursday, just as a puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” patrol was passing by.
The witnesses said that the blast destroyed one four-wheel drive patrol vehicle and damaged a second vehicle, killing at least four puppet “Shock Troops” and wounding three or four more of them. The puppet troops then closed off the area after the explosion, after which puppet “National Guard” forces arrived to reinforce them.

Mortars pound Shi‘i mosque controlled by Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.
In a dispatch posted at 4:17pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a mortar barrage crashed into the al-Kasirayn Shi‘i mosque, a facility controlled by sectarian militias, in Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad Thursday afternoon.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that five people were killed and 12 more wounded in the attack on the al-Kasirayn mosque, which is under the control of the Jaysh al-Mahdi, is located in the area of Hibhib, north of Ba‘qubah.
Balad Ruz.
Puppet policeman killed in Balad Ruz.
In a dispatch posted at 11:58am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men shot and killed a puppet policeman in Balad Ruz, east of Ba‘qubah about 65km northeast of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the unknown men opened fire with light Kalashnikov automatic weapons at the puppet policeman as he was on his way to work at that police directorate in the city, still wearing civilian clothes.
Al-Miqdadiyah.
US helicopters attack two districts in al-Miqdadiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:08pm Makkah time midday Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, US helicopters struck two areas in the city of al-Miqdadiyah, about 85km northeast of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the helicopters attacked the areas of al-‘Urubah and Balwar in al-Miqdadiyah after US forces had earlier carried out raids and searches in the two districts. The source said that plumes of smoke could be seen rising over the area after the attack but he offered no further information on casualties or who was targeted because US forces were still surrounding the area and information was not being allowed out.

Resistance fighters kill prominent Badr Brigade commander in ambush in al-Mahmudiyah Thursday afternoon.
In a bulletin posted at 4:28pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a prominent commander of the Badr Brigades Shi‘i sectarian militia was killed in al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance men laid an ambush for ‘Abd al-Hasan Nahi at-Ta’i, a Badr Brigade commander when he was driving through al-Mahmudiyah on his way south to al-Hillah. The witnesses said that Resistance fighters opened fire with light an medium machine guns on the motorcade in which at-Ta’i was riding, destroying two unmarked cars in the procession and killing him and five of his aides instantly. At the time of reporting the bodies of at-Ta’i and his aides were still sprawled on the street on the scene of the attack.

Al-Mawsil.
Prominent Badr Brigade official gunned down in al-Mawsil Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:06pm Makkah time midday Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Mawsil shot and killed a prominent official in the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades militia on Wednesday afternoon.
The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the city as saying that Resistance fighters ambushed the official known as “Abu Rayyan” in the ash-Shuhada’ neighborhood on the left (northeast) side of the city. The Resistance men suddenly surrounded and cut off Abu Rayyan’s car and sprayed it with a hail of light machine gun fire, killing him instantly.
Eyewitnesses added that an aide to Abu Rayyan who was sitting next to him also died in the attack, after which the Resistance fighters withdrew from the area as other sectarian gunmen and puppet regime security men raced to the scene where all they could do was to evacuate the bodies to the morgue and haul away the wrecked car.

Al-Kut.
Arab tribal leader assassinated in southern city of al-Kut.
Quds Press reported on Thursday that armed men assassinated the head of a well-known Arab tribe in the southern Iraqi city of al-Kut. A source in the puppet police told Quds Press that an armed group attacked Shaykh ‘Abd ar-Razzaq al-Farhud, the Shaykh of the al-Qurashi tribe, on the main road between Baghdad and al-Kut.
The source said that the attackers sprayed al-Farhud’s car with a hail of bullets as it came out of the an-Nu‘maniyah area in the city of al-Kut. Al-Farhud died instantly as the armed men fled the scene. Puppet security men failed to catch up with them.
Quds Press commented that the killing was likely to have major repercussions in the city where members of the al-Qurashi tribe and other Arab tribes make up a large part of the population and where the Arab Shi‘i tribes are known for their hostility to the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian political movements and militias that back the US-installed puppet government in Baghdad.

British forces launch operation to support US “security” drive in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that British forces in al-Basrah issued a statement saying that they had launched a new military operation in al-Basrah under the name “al-Basrah Security Belt.”
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the statement as saying that the operation, to be carried out by British and puppet Iraqi forces, is aimed at halting militias and stopping smuggling in order to assist with the Bush − al-Maliki “security plan” in Baghdad.
The British military statement said that tasks in the operation will include taking control of the main road into the city by British and puppet Iraqi troops, starting gunboat patrols on the Shatt al-‘Arab waterway, and closing the ash-Shalamijah and ash-Shiyab border crossings with Iran.
The occupation forces indicated that the current “Security Belt” operation is to be one of the biggest operations they have carried out in al-Basrah, and it follows an increase in Resistance attack on British facilities in the area since the beginning of the year.
