甘っちょろい対応をしてるといえば こんなニュースもありました。
水曜日、タリバン政権の情報局幹部ムッラー・ファザル・レーマン・マスダク逮捕のため、2台の米軍ヘリコプターがアフガニスタン東部パクティアのミースト町を急襲した。
米軍はムッラー・ファザルを発見することが出来ず、65歳になる彼の父ムッラー・モハンマド・シディク・サヒブザーダ（イスラム学者）を逮捕した。
ムッラー・モハンマドは彼の客1名と共にヘリコプターで何処とも知れない所へ連れ去られた。
US troops arrest father of Taliban spy official
ISLAMABAD: US troops have arrested the father of a senior Taliban intelligence official in the eastern Afghan province of Paktika, the Afghan Islamic Press reported Thursday.
US troops in two helicopters raided Meast town in Paktika on Wednesday to arrest Mullah Fazal Rehman Mesdaq, a senior intelligence official of the ousted regime.
When they failed to find Mesdaq they arrested his 65-year-old father Mullah Mohammad Siddiq Sahibzada, the Pakistan-based news service said.
It said Sahibzada, who is a respected Islamic scholar, was flown with one of his guests to an unknown place in a helicopter.
US troops backed by Afghan forces have been combing parts of eastern Afghanistan to arrest fleeing Taliban leaders and fugitive fighters of terror suspect Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda organisation.
The Taliban regime was routed in December but both bin Laden, Washington's prime suspect in the September 11 terror attacks on the United States, and Taliban chief Mullah Mohammad Omar who offered him protection, have so far eluded capture.
