Mir Could Start A Pox
On Our Technology

Americas most sensitive and sophisticated military expertise is being handed over to Russian scientists to help control the final agonising death throes of Mir. Russia has taken out a $200 million insurance policy. Perhaps the Russians are familiar with the Hopi prophecy that warns us that de-orbit of a space station like Mir, could be the final harbinger before global disaster. While Hopi prophesy is subjective, the fact that Mir is infected with mutant fungi is absolute and if they are let loose on the Earth, it could threaten the very technologies upon which we depend.

Goverments Seek To Calm Public Concerns
While every government involved in the deorbiting of Mir dons a happy unconcerned face, Russia has taken out a $200 million insurance policy… just in case. The experts are attempting to quell fears surrounding the falling debris, with statements saying that most fragments should be destroyed in the atmosphere. However, the small percentage of remains that will not burn up on re-entry, still equate to approximately 1,500 pieces weighing up to 27.5 tons, with a collective force of about 13,000 tons of dynamite. To put that into perspective, the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima had a nuclear burst yield equal to 15,000 tons of dynamite.
Varying small percentages of risk have also been thrown at the public to minimise fears, but as Colonel Norm Black of the US Space Command says, "This isn't an exact science, it's very much an art form." Which begs the question: How can their low percentages of risk be taken seriously?
As Russia continues to chop and change the crash date for Mir, new fears are arising not from the Mir debris itself, but from what is skilfully stowing away on and within the structural components of Mir. The same styles of illogical dismissals for debris are being used in an attempt to extinguish fears over the stowaways that give off corrosive agents like acetic acid and release toxins into the air. During the 15-year life of Mir, microorganisms stowed away from Earth have been severely mutating into dangerous new forms, and may very well be the cause of recent failures with on-board electronic equipment.

The Threat of Contamination
Since the governments are downplaying the threat from microorganisms as well as falling debris, it is worth pointing out that NASA takes this
biological threat to other planets very seriously.
In a research paper titled, "Preventing the Forward Contamination of Europa", it was concluded that:
"Future spacecraft missions to Europa must be subject to procedures designed to prevent its contamination by terrestrial organisms. This is necessary to safeguard the scientific integrity of future studies of Europa's biological potential and to protect against potential harm to European organisms."
NASA knows very well that once bacteria and other microorganisms from Earth make it into space, they severely mutate into increasingly more powerful and dangerous states. It would be damaging to our scientific studies if we contaminated a planet where we were searching for life. More importantly, it would be damaging to the planet in question if our mutant space breed organisms were introduced and wiped out large percentages of alien life never before discovered.

Mir, a Technological Pox in Space
Patrick Helm, chairman of New Zealand's ad hoc Satellite Reentry Committee recently said, "Happily, Mir doesn't appear to have any dangerous materials aboard". It is apparently true that nobody has intentionally left any hazardous experiments on-board Mir. However, Mr Helm does not appear to be aware of the potentially dangerous mutant microorganisms that have been growing throughout the structure.
While these organisms do not pose a direct risk to humans, their hunger for metal, glass and plastic could have a serious indirect risk to everybody. During a mission to Mir last year, crewmembers noticed that a film of unidentifiable fungi and bacteria visible to the naked eye had covered some of the portholes making it difficult to see outside.
The organisms responsible are fully capable of thriving and reproducing in space and have already been observed in the Zarya cargo unit of the International Space Station. Elena Deshevaya from the Institute of Biomedical Problems (IBMP) in Moscow said, "During 20 years of research, the IBMP scientists have discovered up to 250 species of micro-organisms which live inside manned spacecraft, including fungi and bacteria. 107 species of fungi were found on-board Mir."

Mighty Microorganisms
Shocked researchers have found that the windows on Mir which are made from extra-hard quartz glass, mounted on titanium and covered with enamel, have been partly destroyed by the powerful organisms. Engineers have also discovered that the fungi also damaged lots of electronic equipment including a control block for a communications device.
These organisms are completely different from the variety found on Earth. They have significantly mutated and become more aggressive because of the intense solar radiation in space that is 500 times more powerful than felt on Earth.
Any controlled microorganism samples from space have always been brought back in the safety of sealed containers and stored in safe locations. "We don't know how they will behave if they get back into regular Earth conditions", said Natalia Novikova, also from the IBMP. Novikova also went on to say:.
"If you take a space-grown micro-organism which used metal as a part of its habitat and keep cultivating it by increasing the content of metal in its habitat, you can potentially get a destructive biological weapon which will literally 'eat' arms."
Yuri Karash is an expert on the Russian space program, and believes that the organisms could present a threat if they survived the fall to Earth. "I wouldn't overstate it… but a realistic problem exists", Karash recently told a news conference.
Karash has based his conclusions on research carried out by Russia's Institute of Medical and Biological Problems. Researchers believe that the fungi could become especially lethal if it managed to mix with normal Earth varieties

Human Assisted Mutations
Through the influences from the Suns radiation, the Earth born organisms have naturally mutated by the harsher environment. However, it appears that human activities of war may have contributed to the creation of these new mutated threats.
A discovery from earlier this year has lead to the interesting question, "How did tiny radioactive specks of uranium decay products appear on a Mir instrument cover?"
The top three explanations to this question are:
Nuclear weapons tested in space during the 1960s.
Uranium-powered satellites that have burnt up on re-entry.
An exploding supernova could have blasted uranium into our Solar System many thousands of years ago.
Scientists agree that the most plausible source for the radioactive material is from high-altitude nuclear tests.

Fantasy vs Fact
Leading the official public backlash against the idea that microorganisms pose a threat to Earth is John Rummel, NASAs planetary protection officer.
Rummel has stated that he believes the idea of space fungi mutating into something different from that on Earth is "fanciful". In an interview with United Press Internation, Rummel went on to say:
"Cosmonauts and astronauts have been up to and down from Mir all the time, and there's no indication that they've faced any different problems different from normal Earth fungi."
Cosmonaut Boris Morukov, Doctor of Sciences in Medicine, uses the same argument. Morukov states:
"The very fact that no cosmonaut was ill during the long stays at the station during its fourteen years in space is sufficient evidence of that."
Assuming for a moment that NASA employs knowledgable people, these kinds of ridiculous statements serve only as an attempt at calming the masses. There is nothing
"fanciful" about the fact that fungi and other microorganisms mutate in space from the 500-fold increase in radiation. It is scientific fact, not "fanciful".
The fact that the organisms on Mir have not affected humans is far from being a valid basis to disregard the threat. Nobody to our knowledge has been claiming a direct threat to humans. Every indication on Mir leads to a threat of contamination that could adversely effect Earthly materials such as metal, glass and plastic, not humans.
The use of evidence for human safety on Mir to ignore the threat towards fundamental materials is clearly dangerous and misleading because it does not take into account the human deaths that could result from fungi-compromised airplane and auto parts. We are also highly dependent on computer technology, and the degradation of fungi-compromised printed computer circuits could paralyse our modern economies.
In short, the fungi may not hurt us directly, but indirectly by degrading all of the modern technologies upon which our lives now depend.

An Ominous Warning From Hopi Prophecy
If the volatile behaviour of Mir in the recent past has not been enough evidence to demonstrate the potential danger from Mir, there is also Hopi prophecy.
Hopi prophesy states that the ninth and final sign of impending global catastrophe will begin when a house falls from the sky. After seeing the accuracy of the first eight signs that have been truly fulfilled, there is additional good reason for concern.

Is Mir the "dwelling-place in the heavens" or some future disaster such as the eventual deorbiting of the International Space Station?

We Need To Halt Current De-orbit Plans Now!
Mir continues to sink down through the flowing ocean that is our atmosphere. The final process of deorbiting Mir can be likened to skipping a stone across a river. You know it will eventually settle to the bottom somewhere, but exactly where is hard to predict. If the stone is at just the right angle and velocity, it may even make it to the land on the other side.
Given that the Russians have insured themselves against potential damages caused by Mir, America’s willingness to hand-over their secrets, illogical Government denials of threats from debris and mutant organisms and warnings from Hopi prophecy, concern is most definitely warranted.
Crunch time is now only a stone throw away. Time will soon answer our questions and fears. In the meantime, Mir should remain in orbit regardless of the cost, until safeguards exist against all the possible consequences of a disastrous de-orbit of this fungi-infected relic of a space station.
