US troops in Iraq fought a six-hour battle
with sunni insurgents today, in Ramadi.
A us marine spokesman said at least 12 insurgents died.
A local doctor said 26 people were killed,
Many of them civilians.

Local people showed an AFP photographer the body of an infant they said
was killed in the strike, which levelled at least one city home.
