Day of Civil Disobedience Tuesday in Tikrit to protest US arrests of prominent local personalities.

In a dispatch posted at 12:01pm Makkah time midday Tuesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the people of Tikrit, about 180km north of Baghdad prepared a day of civil disobedience on Tuesday to protest the arrests that US troops have carried out of prominent members of their community in the last two days.

The Tikrit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the local residents prepared to declare a state of civil disobedience in the city to protest the raids and arrests that US troops have made in the last two days. On Sunday American soldiers arrested Hamid ‘Akkab, the chief of the ad-Dulaym tribes in the city and Dr. Basim al-Jishi, a member of the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq in the city.

Then on Monday the Americans arrested ‘Arif Khalil, the head of the city’s municipal council; Shaykh Khalil al-‘Ujayli a member of the Tikrit branch of the Association of Muslim Scholars; and Major Mu‘in ad-Dulaymi, an officer in the intelligence division of the 2nd Brigade of the 4th Division of the puppet Iraqi army.

Diyala Province.
Ba‘qubah.

Resistance blows up puppet governor’s offices in Ba‘qubah after office hours Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:31am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters destroyed the building housing the local governor’s offices ﾐ the Qa’im-maqamiyah ﾐ in Ba‘qubah on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a large group of Resistance fighters in four civilian cars stormed the building after the end of the official day on Monday. They planted explosives in all four corners of the building and then detonated them by remote control.

The source said that the blast inflicted heavy damage on the building, totally destroying a part of it. No casualties were caused by the attack, however, since no one was in the building at the time.

At-Ta’mim Province.
Kirkuk.

Resistance bomb wound puppet “Oil Protection Police” southwest of Kirkuk.

In a dispatch posted at 5:04pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet “Iraqi Oil Protection Police” on the road between Kirkuk and Bayji on Tuesday.

The Kirkuk correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police in Bayji who asked not to be identified as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road near the checkpoint Tar al-Bughl 70km away blew up by a passing patrol of the puppet “Oil Protection Police.” The blast severely wounded five of the puppet policemen who were taken to Bayji General Hospital for treatment.

Al-Huwayjah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:02pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces arrested five Iraqi members of the puppet police near al-Huwayjah, southwest of Kirkuk, some 250km north of Baghdad on Tuesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that US troops arrested five Iraqi members of the puppet police stationed in the al-‘Abbasi area near al-Huwayjah without giving any explanation.

Resistance fighters ambush puppet police patrol northeast of Bayji Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 1:02pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces ambushed a puppet police patrol out of the ar-Riyad area on the road between ar-Riyad and Bayji in Salah ad-Din Province to the southwest on Monday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance men were armed with light and medium machine guns and that they wounded one of the puppet policemen in the attack,which lasted about 15 minutes. Later the wounded man was hospitalized for treatement.

Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil

Captured Iranian agents in al-Mawsil acknowledge plans to carry out sectarian attacks in northern Iraq.

In a dispatch posted at 6:08 GMT Tuesday, Quds Press reported that a puppet Iraqi security source had revealed that the three Iranians arrested in al-Mawsil two days earlier without travel documents had admitted to having ties with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The source said that they also acknowledged that they were in touch with cells that planned armed attacks in al-Mawsil and the surrounding areas. The three reportedly said that they slipped across the border at an illegal crossing where the territories of Iraq and Iran meet in the northern, predominantly Kurdish area.

Quds Press reported that officials in the US-installed puppet “Iraqi government” were putting pressure on the puppet governor of al-Mawsil Durayd Kashmulah, and other puppet military and security officials to release the three Iranians and not hand them over to the Americans.

On Sunday, Wathiq al-Hamdani, the puppet police chief in al-Mawsil announced the arrest of three Iranians found without travel documents. At the time he said that they had been on their way to Tall ‘Afar, some 55km west of al-Mawsil where violence between Shi‘i, Sunni, and Turkoman residents had been reported.

Two Resistance attacks target puppet police in al-Mawsil Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 12:27pm Makkah time midday Tuesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters carried out two attacks in al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad on Tuesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the Iraqi Resistance planted a bomb by the side of a road in the al-Aribjiyah area in the northeastern part of the city. The explosive devices went off by a puppet police patrol out of the al-Karamah station. Resistance men in the area then pounced on the patrol, opening up on them with machine gun fire. In all one puppet policeman was killed and two more were wounded and taken to hospital for treatment. Moderate damage was also inflicted on some of the patrol cars.

The source also said that a group of Resistance fighters armed with light and medium machine guns attacked a puppet police patrol belonging to the 2nd Regiment under the Ninwa Province puppet police command in the ar-Risalah neighborhood of southwestern al-Mawsil. That attack heavily damaged a patrol vehicle and wounded two puppet policemen who were later taken to hospital for treatment. Afterwards, puppet Iraqi government forces closed off the area and searched for the Resistance fighters but found no sign of them.

Resistance bomb near al-Mawsil leaves US soldier reported dead Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 12:01pm Makkah time midday Tuesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol near the northern city of al-Mawsil late on Monday evening.

The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the main road linking al-Mawsil with Tall ‘Afar to the west blew up by a US patrol, heavily damaging a Humvee and killing one American soldier. Four other US troops who were also aboard the Humvee were wounded in the blast.

Sinjar.

Car bomb targets puppet army, bomb rips through Kurdish separatist party headquarters in Sinjar in northern Iraq.

In a dispatch posted at 4:55pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a headquarters of the puppet Iraqi army in the city of Sinjar, west of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source who asked to remain anonymous as saying that the Resistance fighter detonated his car bomb at the command post for the Sinjar area, killing more than six puppet army troops and wounding at least five more of them. The injured puppet soldiers were taken to Sinjar General Hospital for treatment.

A second explosion rocked the city when a bomb exploded by the headquarters of the Kurdish separatist party led by puppet “Iraqi President” Jalal Talibani. No information on the nature or extent of casualties in that attack were immediately available.

Resistance bomb targets car carrying members of Shi‘i sectarian party in al-Basrah Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:29am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a car belonging to the Shi‘i sectarian al-Fadilah Party in the southern city of al-Basrah, destroying the vehicle and killing or wounding all aboard.

The al-Basrah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fighters belonging to the Resistance group the al-‘Abbas Brigades blew up the Landcruiser belonging to al-Fadilah in the al-Ma‘qil area to the north of al-Basrah. All those aboard the vehicle were members of the Shi‘i sectarian party.

The al-Fadilah Party is one of the member parties in the Shi‘i Alliance that calls for a “federalization” of Iraq ﾐ a step towards the partition of the country on religious lines.
