□ファルージャを包囲するアメリカ軍が突然の撤退 イラク兵の大量脱走が原因 他
・ファルージャを包囲し，都市への全面攻撃の準備を進めていたアメリカ軍が
突然の撤退を強いられた模様。
記事は，最前線に配置されていた新イラク軍の兵士たちの大量脱走が
撤退の理由であると指摘している。
大量脱走の原因として，イラク兵たちが昼夜を問わずレジスタンスの攻撃に
さらされ続けたことが大きく影響しており，脱走したイラク兵たちは武器を捨てて
バグダッド方面のハイウェイに向かって逃げていったという。

Iraq Yesterday: US Withdraws From Fallujah After Guardsmen Flee

While battles between American occupiers and resistance fighters continued to rage throughout Iraq Thursday, American troops were abruptly forced to vacate their positions outside of Fallujah after frontline Iraqi national guardsmen fled from their frontline positions.
American occupying forces vacate their positions around Fallujah and withdrew from the area after collaborating Iraqi national guards abandoned their front line positions and fled the city. The sudden withdrawal came as American occupiers were putting the final touches on their plan to storm the heroic city of Fallujah. The abrupt change of direction was prompt by massive defection of Iraqi National Guard units that were positioned on the front line in preparation for storming the city. The intense round the clock attacks by Fallujah Mujahideen forced the guards to abandon their positions, who fled towards highway looking for transportation back to Baghdad, leaving their weapons behind. As the result, the US plan to use the guardsmen on the front line had to be scrubbed, forcing the Americans to withdraw to rethink their battle plan.
Itﾕs worth mentioning that occupation forces have failed in their previous attempts to use Iraqi national guards to storm the city. Mujahideen have inflicted heavy casualties on both the guardsmen and occupation forces every time they attempted to gain entry to the defiant city.
Earlier, US military columns set out from Baghdad on Thursday headed along the highway for al-Fallujah as events seemed to be shaping up for a renewed US offensive on the defiant city Thursday morning. Tanks, armored vehicles and rocket launchers were observed headed towards the city early Thursday. American military forces prevented Iraqi civilian cars from passing along the highway, out of fear that Resistance fighters might be among them, preparing attacks for the convoys of American aggressor troops.
After the announcement of the victory of the war criminal George Bush in his re-election bid in the United States, American invader aircraft dropped massive anti-personnel 13 container bombs (each holding cluster bombs) as they began their final preparations for the offensive against al-Fallujah.
US forces resume bombing al-Fallujah at about 1:50am local time Thursday with attacks on the neighborhoods of al-Jaghifi in the north of the city, and al-Muﾔallimin and al-ﾔAskari in the east of the city. Rockets, machine guns, and artillery were being used by the American aggressors as the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported at 1:20am Mecca time (2:20am local time) Thursday morning.
He wrote that Resistance forces were replying to the US fire, striking the sources of the American weapons.
Resistance forces in al-Azraqiyah in al-Fallujah shelled the US base in the agricultural area north of al-Fallujah with rockets and mortars, an attack that is believed to have occasioned the American attacks on al-Jaghifi and other neighborhoods.
Yltimately the US was forced to retreat adter the mass defection of frontline Iraqi guardsmen however it is widely believed that this latest withdrawal in only temporary and that the US will be back once new plans are in place.

A powerful explosive device was detonated as an American convoy was passing by in Al-Rashid neighborhood, south of Baghdad on Thursday. Four American soldiers were killed when their Bradley armored vehicle was destroyed.
Marines Killed In An Attack West Of Baghdad
Resistance fighters targeted an American convoy for an attack at 9:00 am Thursday morning in Dwailibah area, west of Baghdad. Four Marines were reported dead, and four others including a Lebanese interpreter were wounded when two US military jeeps were destroyed.
Supply Convoy Attacked In Abu Ghraib
An American convoy came under RPJ7 rocket attack at 8:15 this morning on the expressway going through Abu Ghraib. Two Americans were reportedly killed when the supply trailer was destroyed.
Car Bomb Near American Check Point Takes High Toll
A resistance fighter detonated a car bomb near an American check point on Airport Road, near Faris Club in the Iraqi capital at 11:30 Thursday according to a report from Mafkarat al-Islam. Six Americans and seven Iraqi interpreters were reportedly killed; two jeeps and a GMC vehicle used by US intelligence operatives were also destroyed.
Three Americans Killed East Of Baghdad
An American convoy struck a powerful road side bomb in Salman Pak area east of Baghdad around 11:00 Thursday. Three American fatalities were reported when their jeep was destroyed.
Resistance Fighters Ambushed American Convoy In Al-Latifiyah
Resistance fighters ambushed an American convoy in Al-Latifiyah Thursday using explosive devices. Mafkarat al-Islam is reporting that three American soldiers were killed and two more were wounded in the attack when their jeep was destroyed. (JUS)
