US hints at pre-emptive strikes
Pre-emptive strikes by the United States could be on the horizon in the fight against terrorism, the Pentagon's number two official says. "We've already lost enough Americans. We're not going to lose any more by hesitating," Deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz said. Wolfowitz did not say where or when such a strike could happen, and he would not answer questions during an appearance at a conference of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
