米国防大臣ドナルド・ラムズフェルドは、タリバンとアル・カイーダ捕虜は非常に危険であるから、米部隊は適切と思われる如何なる処置でも捕虜に対してとることが出来ると話した。
また、この命令はマザリ・シャリフでCIA要員が殺害された後に出されたものだと付け加えた。
ラムズフェルドの発言が齎す影響を軽減するため、ペンタゴンのビクトリア・クラークは全ての捕虜がジュネーブ条約に従って扱われると話した。
これはラムズフェルドの言葉『彼等は捕虜ではなく、したがってジュネーブ条約下の如何なる権利も保有しない』を否定するものである。
●米軍がアフガン−パキスタン国境を封鎖
300人以上の米海兵隊がスピン・ボルダックに入り、カンダハルからスピン・ボルダックへの民間人の通行を禁止した。
米兵はタンクとAPCでこの地区を包囲している。そして地元武装勢力に武装解除を命じた。これに応じなければ、地元勢力は攻撃を受けることになる。
地元民たちは武装解除に非常に懐疑的であり、武装グループは既に武器を安全なところに移動させてある。
米兵はたった１人のアフガン人の武器も取り上げられなかった。
●木曜日の夜、タリバンとアル・カイーダの聖戦士がキューバへいそうされる際にカンダハル空港で銃撃戦がおこった。
情報源によれば、襲撃者たちはAK-47を装備し、照明弾を使用した。この銃撃戦は４０分ほど続き、襲撃後の空港とその周辺の警備はいっそう厳重になったということである。
小児性愛者のカンダハル知事グル・アガと米軍はこの襲撃者たちの捜索をしているが、攻撃に参加した14人の男性がなんとかこの地域から脱出した。
この攻撃による死者は、米軍の厳しい規制により確認されていない。

WASHINGTON (International Desk + NNI):
Full powers have been given to US troops guarding imprisoned Taliban and Al-Qaida Mujahideen in Cuba.
US Defence Minister Donald Rumsfield said that US troops were given full authority to deal with any resistance from the Taliban and Al-Qaida prisoners.
While speaking to US troops in the Pentagon, Rumsfield said that US troops felt enormous danger from the Taliban and Al-Qaida troops under their custody as well as those present in Afghanistan.
"In this regard I fully authorise the US troops to deal them as they see fit." he said.
He added that these orders were issued after the killing of one CIA interrogator by the Al-Qaida and Taliban prisoners in Mazar-i-Sharif.
To lessen the effects of these words, the Pentagon's representative Victoria Clark said that all prisoners will be treated in accordance with Geneva Convention, which contradicted Rumsfield's words that they were not Prisoners of War and thus not eligible to receive any rights under the Geneva Convention.
US TROOPS CLOSE PAK-AFGHAN BORDER
KANDAHAR/SPIN BOLDAK (News Agencies/Monitoring Desk):
US soldiers have closed the Pak-Afghan border after taking control of Spin Boldak.
They ordered the local militia to submit their weapons and also launched a offensive operation there.
More than 300 US marines landed in Spin Boldak and they stopped the entry of common people into Spin Boldak from Kandahar.
According to information received from Kandahar, a meeting was held in Kandahar Governor's house headed by Gul Agha after major differences with their allies in Spin Boldak.
In this meeting all local commanders and other armed people were warned to submit their weapons otherwise they would have to face military action.
The situation became more complicated when more than 300 US marines landed in Spin Boldak and started their operation.
US soldiers encircled the whole region with tanks and APCs.
Although all armed groups had already shifted their weapons to safer places, local residents had many doubts about handing in their weapons.
The US soldiers were unsuccessful in recovering weapons from even a single Afghan.
KANDAHAR: ATTACK ON US AIRBASE
KANDAHAR (Special Report):
On Thursday night, US forces shifted 20 Al-Qaida and Taliban Mujahideen prisoners to their base in Cuba.
At the time of this shifting some unknown men opened fire on US troops and their aircraft present at Kandahar Airport.
This firing intensified tension among the ranks of 2800 allied troops present in Kandahar.
According to sources the exchange of fire between the US troops and the guerrilla attackers lasted 40 minutes.
The sources said that the attackers were equipped with AK-47 assault rifles and in order to expose the US troops, the attackers also exploded a light illuminating flare.
The sources also reported that after this incident, security has been increased in and around the airport.
2800 troops of different countries are currently present at this airport.
The paedophile Kandahar Government servicemen and US forces are searching for these attackers in Kandahar. 14 men participated in this action and all managed to escape the region after their attack.
The number of deaths in this attack were not verified due to the strict restrictions imposed by the US troops in the region.
