●やりそこないの急襲でアメリカ兵13名死亡 − コースト
日曜日、13人のアメリカ兵がコーストのラクノール地区での急襲に失敗して死亡した。
アメリカはこの作戦（アアブ・へイル村の手入れ）を地元民の助けを借りずに実行しようとした。
部族民はえん蔽壕で（米兵を）待ち伏せて激しく応酬した。
それに続いて起きた銃撃戦は6時間以上も続き、アメリカ兵13名が死亡した。負傷者はなんとか基地へと逃げ帰った。
米軍の地方司令部に敗北の報が届くと、米軍の飛行機は文字通りアアブ・ヘイル村を平らにした。
しかしながら、アメリカの無差別報復（爆撃）を予想した部族民たちは爆撃の前に既に村を空にしていた為、命を落した者はいなかった。
コーストの別の場所では、コースト空港を狙ってロケットが発射され、連合軍宿舎に着弾した。
犠牲者に関する情報はまだない。
●イギリス人1名とアメリカ人軍医3名が死亡 −カブール
週末、カブール北で2つ地雷がアフガニスタンの軍人1名とアメリカ兵3名の人の命を奪い、アメリカ兵15名が重傷を負った。
最初の爆発はバグラムの米国基地付近で起きた。その爆発ではアフガン人が死亡した。
米軍の救急車は爆発後、すぐに（現場に）到着した。
しかし、その帰途、空軍基地から約1キロの地点でそれは対戦車地雷に触れ、医療部隊のアメリカ人3名が即死し、15人の傍観者が重傷を負った。
救急車は完全に破壊された。
カブール南部で起きた別の爆発でイギリス兵が死亡したというレポートが入った。
国際部隊のスポークスマンは、イギリス軍の車輌2台が警備についていたときにその爆発が起きたと語った。
バグラム空軍基地に駐留する8000人のアメリカ兵の存在にも拘らずに続く地雷の爆発は、アメリカ兵の苦痛のタネになっている。
●カブール空港にロケット攻撃
カブール空港への激しいミサイル攻撃が土曜日の朝始まった。
爆発音はかなり遠くから聞こえ、その爆発で都市全体が揺さぶられた。
ラジオ・カブールはそれを兵器の爆発と言ったが、しかし、我々の情報筋は地元民と話したあとで、その爆発がミサイルに起因するものだったことを確認した。
攻撃後、当局が損害を調査する間、誰も空港周辺部に入ることを許されなかった。
●サトカンダオで待ち伏せ攻撃、米兵5名が死亡
金曜日の午後、サタカンダオの山間部に近いガルデズ-コースト・ハイウェイでアメリカのコンボイが待ち伏せ攻撃に遭った。その攻撃で5人の米兵が死亡し、1台の車輌が完全に破壊された。
アタッカーに関する情報は全くない。
●ザーマトで米軍ヘリコプター撃墜
土曜日の朝、ガルデズ近くのザーマトのウルマ地区で、身元不明の男たちが米軍ヘリコプターを攻撃した。
そのヘリコプターは定期の哨戒任務についていたところを撃墜され、乗員全員が死亡した。
死亡した兵士の数は判っていないが、破壊されたヘリコプターの残骸は別のヘリコプターによってカブールへ運ばれた。
この空輸（作業）を地元民が目撃した。
さらに、ザーマトのシャク村から届いたレポートには、土曜日の夜、米軍が実行した捜索作戦では、女子供でさえ尋問を受けたとある。
目撃者は、連合軍は夜間に必要以上に人々に迷惑をかけ、特別な理由もないのに人々を拘留する（管理下に置く）と不平を言った。
●タリバンおよびアル・カーイダとの関係を疑われてアフガン人13人が逮捕される
パキスタンのアッパー・クラム・エージェンシー当局は、タリバンおよびアル・カーイダとの関係を疑われる13人のアフガン人男性を逮捕した。
入手した詳細情報によると、8月30日金曜日、計画的な手入れのあと、（その人たちは）アフガニスタン国境近くで逮捕されたということだ。
それから囚人たちはクラム・エージェンシーのサブの刑務所に送られ、そこで尋問を受けている。
後に、女子供を含む240人のアフガニスタン人の不法移入者がアフガニスタンに送還された。
13 American Commandos Killed in Botched Raid in Khost

Thirteen American Commandos were killed in a botched raid on a village in the Lakhnor region of Khost on Sunday.
In this operation, the Americans attempted to attack the Aab Khail village without the help of locals.
Tribesmen waiting in bunkers retaliated fiercely and the ensuing gun battle that lasted for over six hours, killed thirteen Americans and wounding others who were nonetheless able to flee back to their base.
When news of the defeat came to the local US headquarters, American planes literally levelled the village of Aab Khail.
However, there was no loss of life as the tribesmen, expecting indiscriminate American retaliation, had already vacated the village before the bombing.
Elsewhere in Khost, rockets were fired at Khost Airport, striking the residential barracks of the Coalition Forces.
No information is available yet on casualties.
One British ,Three American Medics Killed Land Mine in Kabul
Two land-mines North of Kabul claimed the lives of one Afghan serviceman and three American troops over the weekend.
15 Americans were seriously wounded due to these explosions.
The first explosion occured near the US military base at Bagram, killing the Afghan.
A US military ambulance arrived soon after the explosion, but on its return journey, it struck an anti-tank land mine about 1km from the Airbase due to which three US troops from the Medical Corps were killed instantly and 15 bystanders were seriously wounded.
The ambulance itself was completely destroyed.
In the South of Kabul, reports have come in of the death of one British soldier in another explosion.
The International Troops spokesman said that the explosion occurred when two British military vehilces were on guard duty.
Despite the presence of 8000 American troops at Bagram Airbase, consecutive land-mine explosions is a cause of distress for the the American soldiers.
Kabul Airport Hit by Intense Rocket Attack
An intensified missile attack was launched at Kabul Airport on Saturday morning.
The noise of explosions was heard from a huge distance and the whole city was shaken by the explosions.
Radio Kabul called it an explosion of ordnance, but after speaking to locals, our sources confirmed that the explosions were due to fired missiles.
After the attacks, no-one was allowed to enter the Airport perimeter whilst officials investigated the damage.
US Convoy Ambushed in Sato Kandao Killing Five Americans
An attack was launched Friday afternoon on a US convoy near the mountainous region of Sata Kandao on the Gardez-Khost Highway, killing five American soldiers and destroying one vehicle.
There was no information available about the attackers.
American Helicopter Shot Down in Zarmat
In the Urma District of Zarmat near Gardez, unknown men targetted a US helicopter on Saturday morning.
This helicopter was on regular patrol duty when it was shot down and all troops aboard were killed.
Although the number of dead troops is not known, the wreckage of the destroyed helicopter was taken to Kabul with the help of another helicopter.
This airlift was witnessed by locals.
Furthermore, reports came from the Sihak village of Zarmat that on Saturday night, a search operation was made by US troops in which even women and children were interrogated.
Eyewitnesses complained that Coalition troops unnecessarily disturb people in night and take people under their custody with out specifying any reason.
13 Afghans Arrested On Suspicion Of Links To Taliban And Al-Qaida
In Pakistan, the political administration of Upper Kuram Agency have arrested 13 Afghan men who are suspected to have links with Taliban and al-Qaida.
According to details which were received on Friday 30 August, the arrests were made near the Afghan border after a planned raid was carried out.
The prisoners were then shifted to Sub Prison Kuram Agency, where they are being interrogated.
Later, 240 illegal Afghan immigrants were sent back to Afghansitan, of whom included women and children.
