●タリバンに拘束された英国人女性ジャーナリストがイスラムを受容

最近入手した情報によると、タリバン支配下のアフガニスタンで逮捕・拘留されたイギリス人ジャーナリスト イボンヌ・リドリーは、聖コーランを学び、現在ではイスラムを受け入れている。
彼女は、アメリカの攻撃の数日前にアフガニスタンに不法入国した。
彼女は、ジャララバード行政区のドア-ルバヤ地区経由（この経路は通常使われるものではない）でパキスタンの部族地帯へ入ろうとしているところをタリバン警察に逮捕された。
彼女は当初、ジャララバードで拘留され、後にカブールに移された。

英国移民上告委員会は、反テロリズム法に基づいて数人のムスリムの英国市民を逮捕したことは違法であると言った。
イギリスのガーディアン紙によると、英国の反テロリズム法2001のもとでは、英国政府は、疑惑があれば英国市民でない者なら誰でも拘留できるし、彼または彼女を取り調べることが出来る。
英国政府は9/11攻撃後にこの法律をセットアップした。そして、数人の人が、伝えられるところではアル・カーイダと隠れた関係を持っているという容疑で逮捕された。

British Woman Journalist Who was Held by Taliban Embraces Islam

According to recent information, British journalist Yvonne Ridley who was arrested and held during the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, has now embraced Islam after studying the Holy Quran.
She went to Afghanistan illegally a few days prior to US attacks.
Taliban police arrested her when she was trying to enter the tribal regions of Pakistan via unusual paths in Jalalabad province's Door Rubaya district.
She was initially held in Jalalabad and later shifted to Kabul.
Immediately after her release and arrival in Pakistan, when asked by a massive crowd of journalists about her treatment by the Taliban, she said they were like brothers.
On her return to England while speaking to the BBC, Yvonne Ridley said that she had not seen such noble, brave and straight forward men like the Taliban throughout her life.
All of the men were men of their words, she added.
The articles she wrote describing her eleven days in Taliban custody were published in all the leading newspapers of the world.
'11 Days in the Prison of the Taliban' is a book that has so far sold millions of copies around the world and is a proof of the justice and sincerity of the Taliban.
Arrest and Holding of Suspected Muslim British Citizens without Charges is Illegal Says British Immigration Appeal Commission
London (Azzam):
The British Immigration Appeal Commission has termed the arrest of several Muslim British citizens under the Anti-Terrorism Act as illegal.
According to the British newspaper, the Guardian, under the British anti terrorism act of 2001, the UK government can hold anyone who is not a British citizen on the basis of suspicion and can investigate him or her.
The British government set up this law after the 9/11 attacks and several individuals were arrested as suspects allegedly having hidden links with Al-Qaida.
The Appeal Commission in its statement said that arresting British Muslim citizens according to the same law and on the same principles is illegal, because this law is only applicable to those who are not British.
The Commission also blamed the British government for illegally holding these arrested Muslim citizens and not charging them.
Despite this, they are still being held secretly in high security holding facilities.
It must be noted among those arrested and held under this anti- terrorism act are nine British Muslims accused of having links with Al- Qaida.
