●シャバズ空軍基地に米軍が殺到
カラチ（アッザーム）：
高位の消息筋は、パキスタンのシャバズ空軍基地は現在、進行中のアメリカの作戦−パキスタン内のタリバンおよびアル・カーイダ聖戦士の捜索−のメイン・ベースになっていると伝えてきた。
米軍は軍事行動の初期にこの基地を、アフガニスタンへの爆撃および部隊の輸送・展開のために使用していた。
目撃者は、この基地で離発着する航空機の数が警戒を要するレベルにまで増加しており、まるでアメリカがこの地域に兵力を集中させて攻撃する準備をしているように見えると語った。
この行動は、アフガンでの聖戦士の捜索に失敗した米軍が（アフガニスタンから）パキスタンに移動しているもののように見える。
もう一つの理由は、一連の軍事的大失態と最近アフガニスタンで多数の犠牲者を出したことで、アメリカが彼らの軍隊を『より安全な』場所（そこではパキスタン軍内部の彼等の友人たちがなお一層の保護を申し出るだろう）へ動かすことに決定したということだ。
多数のアル・カーイダ聖戦士がパキスタンの部族地区の行政区の辺境に定住したと思われる。彼等はそこからパキスタン境界内外の敵を目標とした攻撃を実行している。
●パキスタンで外国人観光客12名が負傷
マンセラ（アッザーム）：
パキスタンで遺跡観光をしていた12人の観光客（ドイツ人、オーストリア人、スロベニア人を含む）が爆破と砲撃による攻撃を受けた。
彼等らは有名な『シルクルート』に沿ってベシャム経由で中国に向かう途中、古代遺跡があるマンセラと呼ばれる場所に立ち寄った。
彼等はバスで旅行していた。爆弾は（バスの）近くで爆発した。そして、一部の人は砲撃されたとも言う。
その結果、12人の観光客と3人のパキスタン人が負傷し、彼等は直ちに近くの病院に運ばれた。
調査は続行中であるが、まだ誰もこの攻撃の責任を認めていない。
これは、パキスタンに住む全外国人に向けたさらにもう一つの明確なメッセージのようである。

U.S. Military Concentrates Troops in Shahbaz Airbase, Pakistan
Karachi (Azzam):
Highly informed sources have reported that the Shahbaz Airbase in Pakistan is now being used as the main base of U.S. operations in their ongoing campaign to search for Taliban and Al-Qaida Mujahideen in regions of Pakistan.
This base had been used by the U.S. military earlier in their campaign for launching bombing raids and transporting/deploying troops into Afghanistan.
Eye-witness accounts state that the number of U.S. military aircraft landing and taking off from this airbase has increased at an alarming rate and it seems as if the U.S. are concentrating their forces and preparing to launch an offensive in the region.
This move seems to be shifting U.S. troops from Afghanistan, where they have failed to find any Mujahideen, to Pakistan.
Another reason is that the U.S, after having suffered a number of casualties in Afghanistan lately, together with a series of military blunders, have decided to move their troops to a 'safer' location, where their friends in the Pakistani military will offer further protection.
It is believed a number of Al-Qaida Mujahideen have settled into the remote regions of Pakistan's tribal provinces, where they have been launching targeted attacks against their enemies both within and outside Pakistan's borders.
Twelve Foreign Tourists Injured in Bomb Blast in Pakistan
Mansahra (Azzam):
Twelve tourists, including German, Austrian and Slovenian nationals were attacked by an explosion and gunfire when visiting an ancient monument in Pakistan.
They were heading to China via Besham along the famous 'Silk Route', when they stopped at a place called Mansahra, where these ancient monuments are situated.
As they were travelling in a bus, a bomb was detonated nearby and some say accompanied with gunfire.
Consequently, 12 tourists and three Pakistanis were injured and immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
An investigation is underway but no one has, as yet, accepted responsibility for this attack.
This seems to be yet another clear message for all foreigners residing in Pakistan.
