●パキスタンにアメリカ・パキスタン合同情報センターが設置される
イスラマバード（アッザーム）：
アメリカ情報部は、パキスタンの主要な４州、特にアフガンに隣接するN.W.F.P（北西部辺境州）とバルチスタン州での情報収集の為に、およそ400のセンターの建設計画を実施しようとしている。
信頼できる筋は、アル・カーイダ聖戦士の大部分が部族地区とパキスタンの主要都市で再結成したという前提のもとに、このセンターは地域におけるアメリカの情報網を強化することを主要目的にしていると報告してきた。
パシュトゥン語を話すパキスタン人エージェントがこのセンターで働く主要なメンバーになるだろう。これは驚くにはあたらない。
「アフガニスタン駐留連合軍へ損害を与えることを唯一の目的にして、大勢のアル・カーイダ戦士とタリバン戦士が新しく創設されたアフガン国軍に密かに参加している。」と、パキスタン・アメリカの情報レポートに書かれていた為にこの動きがあったものと考えられる。
アメリカは、「多くのタリバン工作員とアル・カーイダ工作員にとって、アフガン国軍内部で働き、気付かれずにそこに残ることは非常に容易である。」と、認めた。よって、将来の反乱や破壊工作を妨害するために、情報網の拡大は極めて重大な事になった。
隠れたタリバン工作員およびアル・カーイダ工作員を追い出す為に作られた情報機関チームは、人々を買収するために重要な莫大な資金とアフガン・パキスタン間の無制限のアクセスを供給された。
他の情報源は、パキスタン・アメリカ合同チームは地方住民を洗脳する為にモスク、道路などの建設をしていると報告してきた。
多くの『宗教の権威者』がコーランの間違った解釈（それは反ジハードを叫ぶ）を非難し始め、『正当な権威』すなわちパキスタン政府への反抗を始めると考えられる。
このプロジェクトの第一段階は「この者達はイスラムの敵である。必ず捕えなければならない」というコーランの一節を付した「オサマ・ビン・ラディンとその副官たち：最重要指名手配」ポスターという形をとった。
これはアメリカの策略である。それは多くのアラブ国家で有効に作用した。
しかし、パキスタンとアメリカがこの地域の人々の胸にある生来の反米の憎悪に打ち勝って、人々の「心と精神」を捉えることが出来るか否かは今のところ不明である。
●カブールでアフガニスタン副大統領暗殺
カブール（アッザーム）：
現地時間午後1時20分、アフガニスタン副大統領ハジ・アブドゥル・カディールの車がオフィスビルに入るところを未知の攻撃者が銃撃した。
暗殺者たちは車の両側から近づいて銃撃し、ハジ・アブドゥル・カディールとボディガードの1人が即死した。
カディール氏の他のボディガードが事件後、アフガニスタン当局によって逮捕された。
ISAFはこの事件の調査の準備をした。5,000人もの強大な『平和維持軍』が副大統領を守れなかったという事実は、
市民間の闘争と（この地域内での）暗殺を止める（彼等の活動の）有効性にとって大打撃である。
ハジ・アブドゥル・カディールはカルザイの忠実な支持者であり同じパシュトゥン民族だった。
●ゲリラ攻撃で連合軍兵士2名死亡
ザブル（アッザーム）：
アフガン東部地方のザブルからのレポートによると、ザブルの中心地カラットで身元不明の男たちが山間部での作戦に従事していた連合軍をゲリラ攻撃した。
この攻撃で2人の連合軍兵士が死亡し、多数の重傷者がでた。
平和維持軍隊スポークスマン ロジャー・キング中佐によれば、その作戦は山間部から弾薬を回収することを目的にしたもので４日前に始まったということだ。
この作戦はカナダ軍が始めた。
聖戦士によるこのゲリラ急襲の後、連合軍は作戦を不完全なまま放り出してカンダハルの基地へと逃げ出した。

400 Joint U.S./Pakistan Intelligence Centers Setup In Pakistan
Islamabad (Azzam):
U.S. intelligence agencies are about to enforce plans to build around 400 centers for gathering intelligence within Pakistan's four main provinces, particularly in the Afghan bordering regions of N.W.F.P and Baluchistan.
Reliable sources have reported that the main purpose of these centers is to strengthen the U.S. intelligence network in the region, since there is an assumption that most Al-Qaida Mujahideen have re-established themselves in Pakistan's tribal areas and major cities.
It is no surprise that the main personnel working within these centers will be Pasthun speaking Pakistani agents.
It is believed that this move has come because of Pak/U.S. intelligence reports that state that a number of Al-Qaida and Taliban Mujahideen fighters have covertly joined the newly formed Afghan Armed Forces, for the sole purpose of causing damage to Coalition troops in Afghanistan.
The U.S. appreciates that it is very easy for many Taliban and Al-Qaida operatives to work within the Afghan Military and remain undetected, hence the expansion of it's intelligence network has become vital if it is to thwart any future insurgence or sabotage.
The intelligence teams formed for routing out covert Taliban and Al-Qaida operatives have been provided with unlimited access between the Afghan and Pakistani borders together with a significant budget for buying people out.
Other sources have reported that a joint Pak/U.S. effort of building mosques, roads etc. is underway in order to brainwash the local populace.
It is believed that a number of 'religious authorities' will begin preaching a false interpretation of the Quran that calls out against Jihad and rebelling against the 'legitimate authority' i.e. the Government of Pakistan.
The first of these projects has taken shape in Most Wanted posters of Usama Bin Ladin and his companions, including verses of the Quran stating that these people are enemies of Islam and must be captured.
This is an American ploy, which has worked very well in many Arab states, but it remains to be seen as to whether the Pakistani and American authorities can win the 'hearts and minds' of the people in this region, despite all the inherent Anti-American hatred that exists in the minds of the people.
Afghan Vice President Assassinated in Kabul
Kabul (Azzam):
At 1320 Local Time, unknown assailants opened fire on the Afghan Vice President, Haji Abdul Qadeer as his car was entering his office building on Saturday.
The assailants approached the car from both sides whilst opening fire and kiling Haji Abdul Qadeer and one of his bodyguards instantly.
His other bodyguard was later arrested by Afghan authorities.
ISAF has setup an investigation for this incident and the fact that it's 5,000 strong 'peacekeeping force' was unable to protect the Vice President, is a great blow to its effectiveness in stopping civil strife and assassinations in the region.
Haji Abdul Qadeer was a staunch Karzai supporter and fellow ethnic Pasthun.
Two Coalition Troops Killed In Guerrilla Attack
Zabul (Azzam):
According to reports from the eastern Afghan province of Zabul,unknown men in Zabul's capital Qalat launched a guerrilla attack on coalition troops who were engaged in an operation in the mountainous regions.
Two coalition troops were killed in this attack while many others were severely injured.
According to peace keeping troops spokesman Lt. Col Roger King, an operation was initiated four days ago for recovery of ammunition from the above mentioned place.
This operation was initiated by Canadian troops.
After this guerrilla raid by the Mujahideen, coalition troops have left their operation incomplete and fled back to their base in Kandahar.
