●カンダハルでゲリラ攻撃　アメリカ兵5名死亡

カンダハル（アッザーム）：
カンダハルで、オートバイに乗った2人の男が米兵を乗せた車輌に近づき銃撃した。その場で5人の兵士が死んだ。
攻撃の後、2人のガンマンは上手く現場から逃走した。
地元からの報告によると、事件が起きたのは金曜日で、その時米兵はプライベート・カーでカンダハル周辺をドライブしていた。
目撃者は、ドライブ中の米兵の不道徳な振舞いが地元民の怒りを掻き立てていたと話した。
米兵が不道徳なことをしたすぐ後に、モーター・サイクルに乗った2人の男がミールワイス病院の陰から現れて（米兵の）車を銃撃した。
この攻撃があったことで、地域は非常な緊張状態にある。
事件後すぐに大人数の米兵と連合軍兵が現場に到着した。
新しいレポートによると、モーターサイクリストのうちの1人の兄弟であるとして1人の地元市民が逮捕された。
連合軍兵の（胸の）中に恐怖と混乱があることは明らかである。
安全策をとって、彼らはマウルビ・ワキール・アーメド・ムタワキルと他のタリバン囚人をバグラムへ移送し始めた。
過去5日間、カンダハル空港はひっきりなしにロケット攻撃を受けていた。
レポートはまた、ウルズガン爆撃事件が原因で地方住民たちが米軍と連合軍に対して激しい憎悪を持つようになったことを示唆する。
この緊張した空気のために、現在アメリカ人は彼ら自身（の行動範囲）を空港と基地に制限した。
他のニュースになるが、クナール川の土手が決壊して米軍のチェック・ポストが破壊され、米兵2名が負傷した。
最近、多量の雨が降りその結果水位が上昇して土手が決壊した。
クナール川の増水のせいで数十人の負傷者がでた。そして、何百頭もの動物が死んだ。
消息筋は米軍が大規模作戦のためにクナール近くに多数の兵を集結させていたと報告してきた。
2人の米兵が負傷したというこのニュースは米軍がそこに居ることの証明である。

Guerrilla Attack by Gunmen on Motorcycle Leaves 5 US Soldiers Dead in Kandahar

Kandahar (Azzam):
In Kandahar, two men on a motorcycle approached a car carrying US troops and opened fire, killing five soldiers on the spot.
After the attack both gunmen succeeded in escaping from the scene.
According to local reports, the US soldiers were roaming around Kandahar city in a private car on Friday when the incident occurred.
Witnesses said that they were behaving immorally while driving, which aroused the anger of the local people.
It was a few minutes after these acts that the two motorcyclists appeared from behind Meerwais hospital and opened fire at the car.
There is severe tension in the region after the attack.
US and Coalition troops reached the area in large numbers soon after the incident and recent reports indicate that they have arrested one local citizen, blaming him to be the brother of one of the motorcyclists.
Fear and panic is clearly evident among the Coalition troops and for the sake of safety they have begun shifting Maulvi Wakeel Ahmed Mutawakkil and other Taliban prisoners to Bagram.
For the past five days, Kandahar airport has been under constant rocket attacks.
Reports also indicate that the Uruzgan bombing incident has caused severe hatred among locals against US and Coalition troops.
Due to this tense atmosphere the Americans have now restricted themselves to the airports and their bases.
In other news, two US servicemen were injured when the Kunar river broke its banks and destroyed a US military check post.
This was due to recent heavy rainfall and the resulting rise in the water level.
Dozens of people have been injured and hundreds of animals have been killed due to the rise in the level of the river Kunar.
Well-informed sources report that US troops were gathering in large numbers in the area near Kunar for a large operation and this recent news of the injury of two US soldiers is proof of their presence there.
