●クナールで米兵２名が殺害される
クナール（アッザーム）：
アフガニスタンのクナール地方にあるアサダバードの米軍検問所が襲われて米兵２名が殺された。
このような出来事はここ数週の間にすでに「お決まりの事件」になった感がある。
我々の情報源からの報告によると、未知の攻撃者のユニットは首尾よく検問所周辺に侵入して発砲し、たちまちのうちに2名の米兵を殺害した。
攻撃者は難なく逃れたことと思われる。
アナリストは、聖戦士が約束した夏季攻勢の初期段階のものとして、アフガニスタン内の連合軍に対するその類のヒットエンドラン・ゲリラ作戦が最近エスカレートしていると示唆している。

●ガルデズの米部隊にロケット発射

アフガニスタンのガルデズ地方（パキスタン国境沿いに位置する）、で武器庫になっていると思われる洞穴を捜索していた米軍が複数のロケット（何処から発射されたかは不明）による攻撃を受けた。
犯人の捜索活動での絶対的な挫折と無能力（これは今や「お決まり」になっている感がある）の結果、米軍は異なる行政区で大規模な捜索活動を開始した。
彼らは大型武器を没収すると共に、伝えられるところによれば、アフガン生まれと思われる１０人の男を逮捕したということだ。
他に、ラワラ管区のガルデズの南東40マイルで、未知の攻撃ユニットが米兵に向けて2基のロケットを撃ち込んだ。
その地域を徹底捜索するために米軍ユニットが招集された。そして、米軍は発射準備された4台のロケットを発見した。
地元の情報筋は、この地域のアラブ聖戦士とタリバン聖戦士がこのような攻撃をしているのだと報告してきた。
彼等はその地域内を自由に移動し、うまく捕獲を逃れているから簡単に占領軍に対するゲリラ作戦を実行できるようだ。

Two More U.S. Soldiers Killed in Kunar
Kunar (Azzam):
In what is becoming a regular occurrence over the past few weeks, two U.S. soldiers were killed during an attack on a U.S. Military checkpoint in the Asadabad region, which lies in the Afghan province of Kunar.
Our sources report that a unit of unknown assailants managed to infiltrate the external perimeter of the checkpoint, whereby they opened fire and killed two U.S. soldiers instantly.
The assailants were believed to have escaped without suffering any casualties.
Analysts are suggesting that the recent escalation in such hit and run guerrilla operations within Afghanistan against coalition troops, might well be the initial phase of the Summer Offensives, promised by the Mujahideen Command.
One must seriously question and be appalled by the media blackout in Afghanistan, which is continuing to dupe the world as to the legitimacy of American action within Afghanistan and Pakistan so far.
The reality of this war, however, is not as pleasant and well coordinated as the world is being led to believe, and this is something, which will be hitting the Bush and Blair administration in the near future.
Rockets Fired at U.S. Troops in Gardez
Kabul (Azzam):
In the Afghan region of Gardez, which lies adjacent to the border with Pakistan, U.S. troops have had multiple rockets fired at them from unknown sources during an operation to search a complex of caves suspected to be a weapons dump.
As a result of their sheer frustration and inability to locate the perpetrators of what is now becoming a regular occurrence, U.S. troops have begun mass search operations in different provinces.
They have confiscated heavy ammunition together with reportedly arresting ten men, believed to be of Afghan origin.
In a separate incident, 40 miles south east of Gardez in the region of Lawara, two rockets were fired on a unit of U.S. soldiers from an unknown unit of attackers.
A unit of U.S. troops were called out to comb the area and they found four rockets that had been set up to fire.
Local sources have reported that such attacks are being carried out by Arab and Taliban Mujahideen in the region, who seem to move freely throughout the terrain and manage to evade capture, hence facilitating them to carry out guerrilla operations on the occupying forces.
