●ＦＢＩがクウェートのＮＧＯ（ジャミアト・アーヤ・アルティラット）の事務所を捜索し、２０人のアラブ人を逮捕
ラホール（アッザーム）：
米軍のバックアップを受けたＦＢＩは、アーヤ・アルティラットのペシャワール事務所を捜索して（職員を）逮捕をした。
国中の宗教団体が猛烈にこの作戦を非難した。
事件の後で発表された声明で宗教政党は、「西欧のＮＧＯは政府によって援助活動のフリをした布教活動を許されている。
しかし、パキスタンのムスリムの発展と利益のために働いているイスラムNGOは嫌がらせを受けている。」と、指摘した。
またその声明には、「この捜索活動はパキスタン政府がパキスタンを米国とその連合国に売ったという事実の証明であり、
イスラムの機関とそこで働く人々への政府の不公平で圧制的なスタンスは危険である。」とあった。
グループは、このＮＧＯの２０名のアラブ人職員の逮捕を猛烈に非難した。

信頼できる筋が明かした以下の情報は、ダニエル・パールが、家々から出るゴミを毎日拾い集める道端の乞食と掃除夫を使って情報収拾を行っていたことを明らかにした。
パールはムスリムの乞食に100〜200ルピーを与えて、彼らにいろいろな人の動きをモニターして報告するように指示した。
同じように、彼はキリスト教コミュニティの下水掃除とゴミ集めをする掃除夫にお金を与えてアラブ人が住んでいる家の周辺を見張らせ（結果を）報告させた。

FBI Raids Office of Kuwait Based NGO Jamiat Ahya Altirat and Arrests 20 Arab
Lahore (Azzam):
The FBI, backed by, US troops raided the Peshawar office of Ahya Altirat and made the arrests.
This operation was strongly criticised by all religious groups in the country.
In a statement released after the incident, the religious parties pointed out that Western NGOs are permitted by the government to spread their religious beliefs under the guise of aid work, but Islamic NGOs working for the development and benefit of Muslims in Pakistan were being harassed.
The statement also said the raid proved that the Pakistani government has sold the country to the US and its coalition, and the government's unfair and oppressive stance towards Islamic institutions and workers is dangerous.
The groups strongly condemned the arrests of the 20 Arabs working for this NGO.

The following information disclosed by reliable sources indicates that Daniel Pearl used to carry out his intelligence gathering with the aid of street beggars and cleaners who used to pick garbage from houses on a daily basis.
Pearl would give Muslim beggars 100 to 200 rupees and instruct them to monitor and report on the movements of various individuals.
Similarly, he gave money to Christian community cleaners, who carry out sewerage cleaning and garbage collecting, to look around for houses where Arabs lived and then inform him.
