●アフガニスタン-パキスタン国境に沿って展開中の英国軍
カブール（アッザーム）：
アフガニスタンの英国軍当局者は、アフガニスタン−パキスタン境界地域で新しい作戦を開始したと語った。
現在、およそ300人の兵士がその作戦に投入されている。
しかし、当局によれば、その数は必要に応じておよそ700人まで増員出来るということだ。
BBCによれば、300人の英国軍がアル・カーイダおよびタリバン聖戦士のパキスタンからアフガニスタンへの流入を防ぐためにコーストの南東部に配備された。
主な狙いは、来月に予定されているロヤ・ジルガ会議を無事に進行させることである。
連合国は、会議の粉砕を狙った聖戦士によるサボタージュおよびゲリラ攻撃の可能性をひどく心配している。

●９月１１日を言い訳にして人権を悪用するアメリカとイギリス　―　アムネスティ・インターナショナル
ロンドン（アッザーム）：
人権組織アムネスティ・インターナショナルは、9月11日の攻撃と『テロとの戦い』を言い訳にして人権組織を欺いているアメリカとイギリスを非難するレポートをリリースした。
インターナショナル・ニュース・エージェンシーによると、アムネスティの書記長アイリーン・カーンは、9/11以後の非常事態法はジュネーブ協定、移民の権利や公平な裁判手続きのようなものの柱石となる人権を回避し、無視していると語った。
彼女はロンドンで開催された組織の年次報告会議で話していた。
カーン氏は、「非常事態法律の実施および結果が故意に人権組織の目から隠された。そして、9月11日以後、国内の安全保障という名目で多数の国が最も基本的な人権さえ無視した。」と、話した。
イギリスとアメリカ合衆国を猛烈に非難する一方、アムネスティ・レポートは、市民的自由を制限する法律を制定したことでインド、ヨルダン、南アフリカ、サウジアラビアのような国をもハイライトした。
「新しい対テロ法の下では、刑事告発や証拠なしで疑わしい移民を逮捕・拘留出来る（これはヨーロッパの人権協定に明らかに違反している）」と、アイリーン・カーン氏はレポートからイギリスの例を引用した。
オーストラリアもまたこの状況を利用して移民の国外追放命令を出した。
このレポート中の最も強烈な非難の一部は、９月１１日以降のアメリカの行いとキューバのグアンタナモ湾の拘留している捕虜の処遇に向けられている。
レポートは、ジュネーブ条約に基づく『戦時捕虜』の身分を捕虜たちに囚人に与えるよう要求した。
150ヶ国以上のアフリカ、アジア、ヨーロッパの国々が９月の攻撃を不当に利用して重大な人権侵害を犯した。

British Troops in Operation Along Afghan-Pak Borders

Kabul (Azzam):
British military officials in Afghanistan have said that a new operation has been initiated in the Afghan-Pak border regions.
There are currently around 300 soldiers participating but the number could rise to around 700 depending on the need, officials said.
According to the BBC, the British 300 troops are positioned south-east of Khost in order to prevent an influx of Al-Qaida and Taliban Mujahideen from Pakistan to Afghanistan.
The main aim is to ensure that the Loya Jirga meeting scheduled for next month goes ahead without any incidents.
The coalition is seriously worried about the possibility of sabotage and guerrilla attacks by the Mujahideen to disrupt the meetings.

Amnesty International - UK and US Abusing Human Rights Under Excuse of 11 September Attacks

London (Azzam):
Human rights organization Amnesty International have released a report accusing the United States and Great Britain of deceiving human rights organisations using the 11 September attacks and 'War on Terror' as excuses.
According to an international news agency, the general secretary of Amnesty, Irene Khan, said that emergency laws after 9/11 have by-passed and ignored human rights pillars like the Geneva convention, immigrants rights and fair judicial procedures.
She was speaking at the Annual Report meeting of the organisation, held in London.
Ms. Khan said that the contents, execution and outcomes of the new emergency laws have intentionally been hidden from human rights organisations and after 11 September, many countries, under the guise of internal security, have ignored even the most basic human rights.
While strongly criticising the UK and USA, the Amnesty report also highlighted countries such as India, Jordan, South Africa and Saudi Arabia for making laws that severely restrict civil liberties.
Taking from the report, Irene khan cited the example of England where, under the new anti-terrorism laws, suspected immigrants can be arrested and imprisoned without any criminal charges or evidence, which is an open violation of the European Human Rights Convention.
Australia is also taking advantage of the situation and has issued orders for the deportation of immigrants.
Some of the strongest criticism in the report was directed at the US for its conduct after 9/11, and treatment of prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The report demanded that the prisoners be given the status of 'prisoners of war' according to the Geneva Convention.
More than 150 African, Asian and European countries have taken undue advantage of the September attacks and committed serious violation of human rights.
