●ムジャヒディン、コーストで攻撃開始
コースト（ラジオ報道）：
水曜日の夜、ムジャヒディンによる２つの大規模攻撃があった。その１つはコースト空港の連合軍キャンプ攻撃である。
ロケット、マシンガンを使った最初の攻撃（この地方で3番目に大きい攻撃としてBBCが報道）は数時間続いた。
このミリタリー・キャンプは、パクティアとコースト地方のパトロールとその地方での作戦のための主要な部隊集結所だった。
犠牲者数と損害の報告はないが、目撃者はキャンプとその周辺は大変な破壊ぶりだと説明した。
通常通り、アメリカ当局は即座に犠牲者が出たことを否定し、攻撃のスケールを軽く扱った。
BBCの防衛アナリスト ラヒーム・ウッラー・ユースフ・ザイは、未だにこの地域には米主導の軍隊に対する強い抵抗が存在すると言った。
BBCはまた、アメリカ人が「作戦の終了と無条件の成功」というときは常に、彼等が激しい攻撃と損失に直面しているということに言及した。
コースト地域での攻撃の第二波は空港に対する攻撃で、水曜日の午後11時頃始まり、3時間程続いた。
ムジャヒディンは、MB-12ミサイル、ロケットと大型機関銃を使って攻撃した。
目撃者は、攻撃直後にこの地域で少なくとも５体のアメリカ人の死体を見たと報告してきた。
しかし、軍は（そのエリアが綺麗に片付けられるまで、）素早く市民や国際的メディアの通信員がそのエリアに侵入するのを遮断した。
情報筋は、全てのムジャヒディンが闇に紛れてうまく脱出出来ただろうと明かした。
地元民によれば、アメリカ人は攻撃の直後に無実の市民に爆弾を落とし始めた。
そして、コーストの暫定政権司令官ザキーム・カーンはこの攻撃があったことでバチャ・カーンを非難した。
彼はまたアメリカに、バチャ・カーンは反米であると訴え、この地域からバチャ・カーンを追い出すよう要求した。
これらの最近の地上作戦を開始して以来ずっと、アメリカは緊急に援軍（特に他国からの援軍）を必要としていた。
現在、およそ5300人のアメリカ兵がアフガニスタン各地で様々な任務に就いている。

●カンダハルでヘリコプターが不時着

イギリスの通信社によれば、アメリカ中央軍は、大型ヘリコプターが損傷し、カンダハルの山岳地帯に緊急着陸したと発表した。
米当局は、「それは事故であり、数名の兵士が負傷した」と言うが、そのような出来事の99%は、「ムジャヒディンがヘリコプターを撃墜し、数人の兵士が殺された」という結果になる。
●カンダハルでタンク破壊

火曜日、カンダハル空港付近でタンクが対戦車地雷に接触し乗員8名が死亡した。
3人のＡＰＣと共にコーサブ地域のパトロール中にこの事件は起きた。
目撃者によれば爆発後、人間の肉片がその辺りじゅうに散乱していたということだ。
事件後、アメリカ軍は、コーサブ地域、空港とその周辺地域とカンダハル-ボルダック・ハイウェイに外出禁止令を課した。
軍は、「外出禁止時間に外にいる者は誰であろうと射殺せよ」という命令を発した。
●ムジャヒディンの死者は800人でも500人でもない。たった50?60人
カブール(モニター・デスク）：
米当局がアナコンダ作戦におけるムジャヒディンおよびアル・カイーダの死者は500人?800人だとの評価を再調整をしている一方、同盟側のアフガニスタン人はそのような途方も無い数字を否定した。
ボイス・オブ・ドイツによれば、アフガンの親米司令官は、アメリカが主張する「成功と評価」は非常にまぎらわしいと言ったということだ。
ファヒーム将軍の秘書グルブディンは、この作戦で殉教したムジャヒディンはたった50-60人で、殆どのムジャヒディンはこの地域からの逃走に成功したと話した。

Mujahideen Launch Multiple Attacks in Khost

KHOST (Radio Report):
Two large-scale attacks were carried out on Wednesday night by Mujahideen, on the main U.S. Coalition camp and Khost airport.
In the first attack, reported by BBC as the third largest attack in the province, the fighting lasted several hours with rockets and machine guns being heavily used.
This military camp was the main staging area for patrols and operations in the Paktia and Khost provinces.
Although casualty figures and damage reports were not available, eyewitnesses described large destruction in and around the area of the camp.
The U.S. authorities, as usual, were quick to deny any casualties and played down the scale of the attack.
The Defence Analyst for the BBC, Raheem Ullaah Yousuf Zai, said that strong resistance to the U.S. led forces was still present in the region.
The BBC also noted that every time the Americans term an operation over and an unconditional success, they were immediately subject to heavy attacks and losses.
The second attack in the Khost region was carried out on the main airport on Wednesday night around eleven p.m. and lasted for more than three hours.
The Mujahideen used MB-12 missiles, rockets and heavy machine guns during the attack.
Immediately after the attack, eyewitnesses reported that at least five dead bodies of Americans were seen in the area.
The military, however, quickly prevented any civilians or international media correspondents from approaching the area, till everything was cleared up.
Sources disclosed that all the Mujahideen were able to retreat successfully under the cover of darkness.
According to locals, the Americans started bombing innocent civilians shortly after the attack and interim government commander Zakeem Khan in Khost blamed Bacha Khan for the attack.
He also demanded that the U.S. drive Bacha Khan out of the region, accusing him of being anti-American.
Ever since the U.S. began these recent ground operations, they have been in dire need of more reinforcements, especially from other countries.
Presently around 5300 American troops are taking part in various operations in Afghanistan.
Kabul has around 4500 peacekeeping troops but it is very clear that the number is insufficient to achieve anything and recently the U.S. demanded the British government to send 1700 more commandoes to aid in the operations.
ANOTHER HELICOPTER GOES DOWN IN KANDAHAR
WASHINGTON (Online):
According to a British news agency, U.S. Central Command has announced that a large helicopter had sustained damage and made an emergency landing somewhere in the mountainous regions of Kandahar.
Although the authorities say it was an accident and only some soldiers were injured, in 99% of such incidents, the helicopter was shot down by the Mujahideen and several soldiers killed as a result.
U.S. TANK DESTROYED IN KANDAHAR AFTER GOING OVER LANDMINE
CHAMAN (Islam Correspondent):
Eight soldiers were killed when the tank they were in ran over an anti-tank landmine near Kandahar airport on Tuesday.
This incident happened while on patrol, along with three APCs in the Khosab region.
According to eyewitnesses, pieces of human flesh were scattered all over the area after the explosion.
Later on the American forces imposed a curfew in the Khosab region, the airport, surrounding areas and the Kandahar- Boldak highway.
The troops were given orders to shoot anyone seen during the curfew hours.
GENERAL FAHEEM'S SECRETARY: NEITHER 800 NOR 500 MUJAHIDEEN WERE KILLED, ONLY 50-60
KABUL(Monitoring Desk):
While the U.S. authorities continue to make re- adjustments to the estimates of between 500 to 800 Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces killed in Operation Anaconda, their Afghan Allies have been dismissing such ridiculous numbers.
According to the Voice of Germany, the pro-US Afghan commanders have said that the claims of success and estimations are very misleading.
The Afghan Defence Minister general Faheem's secretary, Gulbudeen, said that only around 50-60 Mujahideen were martyred during the whole period, and most succeeded in escaping from the region.
