Syria says its forces attacking rebel-held parts of its commercial capital Aleppo have captured several military officers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
An earlier report by Reuters said the Turkish city of Adana is now home to a secret base used by several countries for coordinating military assistance to the Syrian insurgents.
The insurgency is led by what is known as the Free Syrian Army. The FSA positions in Aleppo are under attack by Syrian tanks, planes and helicopter gunships.
Three captured Iranian pilgrims killed in Syria
Syrian insurgents have killed three Iranian pilgrims of 48 earlier abducted outside Damascus when the government troops attempted to shell the city.
The militants threaten to kill the rest if the troops don’t stop shelling in an hour.
A bus with the Shiite pilgrims going to Damascus was seized by insurgents Friday.
They claim that the hostages are spies sent to Syria on intelligence mission, which Iran has denied.
