On Wednesday high pressure influence prevails the weather conditions in Honshu. Due to this weak wind conditions with varying directions an local effects will arise. The multitude of the radioactive pollutants will be transported first to the east or southeast and then more an more to the southwest.

On Thursday the high pressure area will move a little bit to the South. As a consequence the wind direction in the northern parts of Honshu will turn to Southwest. Radioactive particles dispread first east-northeastward to the Pacific and then increasingly to the south.
The picture animation in 6-hourly time steps (please click picture below) shows the migration of radioactively load air at the point of the nuclear power station Fukushima I in 250m height for three days. Since the strength of the emission is unknown, the values are to interpret only as relative distribution and dilution outgoing from an unknown source concentration. A conclusion on the actually radioactive load locally is not possible! Information to the real situation can be found on the website of BMU (www.bmu.de)
