“Watan” or Homeland is a musical play portraying the pain and misery
of a nation over a number of decades.
A nation that has been recently hit by yet another political crisis
stemming from the internal fighting of its own children.
Amidst the silence of the elderly and incompetence of the politicians,
the children of Gaza have spoken in a different language:
the language of art.
From the stage, they criticized the various political blocs and leaders
of occupied Palestine.
Under the title of “Watan” or Homeland,
a new play premiered in a Gaza theater.
Our reporter Zuhair Sakala watched it and sent us the highlights
in the following report.
『ワタン』：祖国は、数十年にわたる国家の苦痛と苦難を描くミュージカルです。
ワタン自身の子供達による内部抗争により生じた
更にもう一つの政治的危機によって最近打撃を受けた国
年長者の沈黙と政治家の無能の中で、
ガザの子供達は異なる言語で語りました。
芸術という言語で。
彼らはステージから占領下パレスチナの

The truth is usually hidden due to fear of the consequences
of speaking of it.
However, if withholding the truth can lead a nation toward catastrophe,
then the equation must be modified.
A number of Palestinian youth from the “Ibhar Talent Forum and the Umah
Musical Ensemble” have tried to demonstrate just this in a new musical
play titled: ”Watan.”
真実は通常それを話すことによる結果を恐れて隠されます。
しかしもし真実を抑えることが国を厄災に導くなら、

but fair criticism of the society as a whole.

In “Watan,” the Palestinian factions face criminal charges
for their role in the internal fighting that erupted in the Gaza Strip.
The play has sent a clear message to the Palestinian people
advising them to tell the truth no matter how hard and bitter it is.

彼らの犯罪的役割に対する告発に直面します。

Telling the truth is very important but is rarely done
because it doesn’t come cheap.
“Watan” is a play that is the outcome of an explosive situation,
where some have realized that losing their homeland implies
losing their lives as well.
