Resistance shoots down American Chinook helicopter; US admits five American troops killed in crash.
In a dispatch posted at 9:22pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the Iraqi Resistance shot down a US helicopter near the American-occupied at-Taqaddum military base in al-Anbar Province, 74km west of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported that the US military had issued a statement acknowledging that a Chinook helicopter had crashed, and saying that it had been on a test flight. The American statement said that rescue units had surrounded the area where the helicopter crashed.
Later, the US Associated Press (AP) reported that five American troops had been killed in the helicopter crash.
Al-Fallujah.
Total lock down imposed on al-Fallujah Tuesday morning; no explanation given.
In a dispatch posted at 3:05pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the puppet security forceson Tuesday morning had imposed a total curfew on the residents of the city of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, until further notice.
The AMSI reported a source in the al-Fallujah puppet police as saying that they used loudspeakers to announce the lock down to residents of the city. The source offered no reason as to why the new curfew was being declared.
For about two month, the city of al-Fallujah has been under a partial curfew that banned all vehicles in the city. Now pedestrian traffic as well is prohibited.

US admits five American troops killed in ground combat Monday, Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 9:48pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that the US military had admitted that one more of its soldiers had been killed in combat in occupied Iraq.
Aswat al-‘Iraq reported a US military communique´ as saying that one American soldier had been killed and three more of them wounded in combat to the west of Baghdad on Tuesday. In keeping with the US practice of concealing facts regarding American losses in Iraq, no further details were disclosed.
In a dispatch posted at 12:30pm Baghdad time midday Tuesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military had admitted that four American troops had been killed in occupied Iraq on Monday, three in Ninwa Province and one to the west of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported one American communique´ as saying that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded near a US vehicle somewhere in Ninwa Province on Monday, 13 August, killing three US special force troops and wounding a fourth. The fourth man was taken to a medical unit for treatment, the American statement said.
Another US announcement on Tuesday declared that the Iraqi Resistance carried out an attack in western Baghdad, killing one more American soldier there on Monday.
Marketing Director for US-backed puppet oil company abducted in Baghdad Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 8:25pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that armed men had abducted the General Director of the Iraqi Oil Marketing Board along with two of his bodyguards on Tuesday.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the puppet oil official was probably kidnapped from his house. The British Reuters news agency reported an oil industry source a saying that armed men stormed into the official’s office in western Baghdad and took him away.
Resistance truck bomb destroys strategic bridge in northern Baghdad suburbs Tuesday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 3:01pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a fuel tanker that had been parked on the at-Taji bridge in the northern suburbs of Baghdad blew up after noon on Tuesday, destroying the bridge.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet security forces as saying that the blast killed two persons and wounded five more, by preliminary count. The bridge was considered an important link over the Tigris River between Baghdad and northern provinces.
In a dispatch posted at 3:36pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the explosion had killed 10 people and wounded six more, according to a British Reuters report.
Occupation admits US holds 750 Iraqi children in its prison camps.
In a dispatch posted at 12:33pm Baghdad time midday Tuesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US military officials have announced that the American occupation forces are holding more than 750 children prisoner in its network of camps throughout Iraq.
The AMSI reported the US officials as saying that the children incarcerated in US military prison camps range in age from 11 to 17 years. The spokesmen for the American-installed regime blame the phenomenon on the participation of the minors in armed Resistance activity against the Americans.
Shi‘i sectarian militias, puppet regime troops jointly attack al-Fadl district in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 11:22am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that at that hour fierce fighting was underway in the al-Fadl district of Baghdad following an attack by Shi‘i sectarian militias. Eyewitnesses report that prior to the attack in the Abu Sayfayn area four mortar shells of unknown origin landed in the area.
The AMSI reported residents of al-Fadl as saying that the shells landed on residences, killing a man and wounding a large number of other people.
As has been reported by satellite news networks the al-Fadl district has frequently come under attack by Shi‘i sectarian militias backed up by puppet “Iraqi National Guard” troops. In each sectarian attack on the district, the US-backed “National Guards” have taken part.

Iraqi Resistance bombs target US forces south of Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 12:30pm Baghdad time midday Tuesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by US military forces in Babil province south of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet “Scorpion Brigade” as saying that the first bomb went off by a US military vehicle in the al-Buhayrat area near al-Iskandariyah, 40km south of Baghdad at 8pm Monday evening. Witnesses in the local puppet police said that the American vehicle was set ablaze by the explosion and that US forces evacuated wounded from the vehicle, but no more detailed information on the nature or extent of American casualties were available.
The sources said that a second bomb went off at 1:15am local time by a US military fuel tanker near Bridge No. 13 on the highway south of Baghdad. That blast set the tanker ablaze but caused no human casualties, the source said.

Kirkuk.
Puppet policeman killed in car bomb attack in Kirkuk Tuesday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 7:53pm Baghdad time Tuesday evening, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb had exploded by a puppet police patrol in Kirkuk, 255km north of Baghdad on Tuesday afternoon, in the third such blast in the city Tuesday.
Aswat al-‘Iraq reported a source who asked not to be identified as saying that a car bomber drove an explosives-laden car into the puppet “Emergency Police” patrol on Celebration Square in Kirkuk at 6pm local time. The blast killed one puppet policeman and wounded 21 other people, most of them civilians, according to the source.
Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.
Resistance ambush south of al-Mawsil leaves four puppet troops dead Tuesday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 9:59pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed puppet troops on the road to the village of al-Jaran to the south of al-Mawsil on Tuesday evening.
Aswat al-‘Iraq reported Brigadier General ‘Abd al-Karim al-Jabburi, director of puppet police operations for Ninwa Province, as saying that the attack left four puppet troops dead. He said that the puppet army troops, all residents of al-Mawsil, were on their way in two unmarked cars to join puppet military units in the area of Bayji in Salah ad-Din Province.
Sinjar.
Vehicle bombs, mortar shells rip through religious minority area of Sinjar, leaving at least 175 dead Tuesday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 10:37pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that a series of explosions killed and injured dozens of people in the Sinjar area − 120km west of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq on Tuesday evening. The attacks were regarded as having been aimed at the Yazidi religious community, which is concentrated in the area.
Aswat al-‘Iraq reported a source who asked not to be identified as saying that two vehicle bombs − one of them a large dump truck and the other a smaller truck − blew up in the Sayba Shaykh Khadar Complex. The district’s largest residential complex with over 15,000 residents, was also hit by mortar shells that landed in various locations and killed or wounded dozens of people.
Two more explosions followed in a car park in the Karr Gharir area, 35km south of the Sinjar District on Tuesday afternoon. Those blasts also killed or wounded dozens and brought down a number of mud brick houses located in the area of the car park. The source said that those blasts sowed panic in the area where efforts to evacuate casualties to Sinjar hospital were still under way as of the time of reporting.
Sinjar and the surrounding area to the west of al-Mawsil constitute an area that is home to the followers of the Yazidi religious minority.
Later, in a dispatch posted at pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Aswat al-‘Iraq, reported sources in the Iraqi military as saying that the number of victims in the Sinjar area bombings had exceeded 375 according to the latest available numbers. A press spokesman for the Iraqi puppet army’s 3rd Division told Aswat al-‘Iraq that about 175 people had been killed and 200 more wounded as a result of the series of blasts.
A source in the puppet police in Sinjar District reported that between 300 and 400 injured people had been evacuated to Sinjar Hospital after the quadruple bombings on Tuesday afternoon and evening. A Kurdish separatist military source reported that a number of the injurded had been evacuated to hospitals further north in Zakhu in Dahuk Province.
Dhi Qar Province.
An-Nasiriyah.
Rocket, mortar, bomb, small arms attacks reported in an-Nasiriyah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:51pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that two rockets, probably of the Katyusha variety, were fired at the al-Imam ‘Ali military base to the southwest of an-Nasiriyah, 385km south of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported sources in the provincial puppet security forces as saying that the headquarters of a provincial emergency rescue force was also the target of three mortar rounds. Three bombs also exploded in various parts of the city.
The sources said that a clash occurred between armed men and puppet security men at a checkpoint in the eastern part of an-Nasiriyah.
The city has been under a state of heightened tension following the arrest of several people in the al-Fida’ and ash-Shuhada’ neighborhoods. The puppet police claimed that the individuals had been involved in planting bombs and firing rockets.

British bases, camps in al-Basrah bombarded with mortars, rockets.
In a dispatch posted at 1:55pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the British headquarters and camps in the southern city of al-Basrah came under mortar and Katyusha rocket attack during the previous 24 hours.
The AMSI reported the British military as announcing that the bombardments inflicted no casualties or material loses.
