Lieutenant Jasim said that the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. He offered no explanation as to why the Americans had opened fire on the village.

In a dispatch posted on its website Friday, Quds Press reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters blew up a bridge linking the town of ar-Rutbah and the Kilo 160 area in far western Iraq near the Jordanian border. Quds Press reported that the Resistance planted bombs under the bridge.

Colonel Ahmad Hamid ad-Dulaymi of the puppet army told Quds Press that the Americans built a temporary bridge so that their traffic could continue to flow to and from Jordan. Checkpoints were also set up on the road.

Colonel ad-Dulaymi added that the Americans also announced that they were going to launch a “security campaign” against the villagers of seven settlements of Bedouin in the area around the bridge.

Diyala Province.

Two Iraqi Resistance bombs rip through US column in al-Miqdadiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that that two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by a US column in al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad on Thursday-Friday night.

AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bombs went off by a US column on the main road near the entrance to the al-Jazirah area, which is located in the vicinity of the villages of ‘Arab Jabbur.

The witnesses said that the blasts destroyed two Humvees, adding that the Americans responded to the attacks by opening fire indiscriminately at gardens and yards in the area as swarms of US helicopter gun ships flew in to prowl the skies above.

Babil Province.
Al-Iskandariyah.

In a dispatch posted at 9:49pm Baghdad time Friday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the Iraqi Resistance blasted the US military headquarters in the as-Sawb as-Saghir area of the city of al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad at midday Friday.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet “Scorpion Brigade” as saying that he had no information on the extent of losses because of the security measures the Americans too to prevent any information on US losses from becoming known.

Al-Yusufiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:24pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the Islamic Liberation Front Resistance organization posted photographs on its website documenting what it said was a crime committed when US artillery bombarded a house in the an-Nadhiriyah area of al-Yusufiyah, 30km southwest of Baghdad.

The Resistance group said that US forces used artillery to open fire on a house in which, they claimed, armed men were hiding. In fact, however, the house was simply home to an Iraqi family, all of whose members − including women and children − were killed in the savage American attack

The AMSI noted that the Islamic Resistance Front failed to mention the date that the attack took place or the exact number of victims.

Kirkuk.

Mysterious bomb kills five in Kirkuk Friday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 2:36pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that five people were killed and 28 more wounded when a car bomb went off in Kirkuk, 255km north of Baghdad, on Friday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 3:48pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast killed six people and that the puppet police told its correspondent that the blast was the result of a car bomber who drove an explosives-laden vehicle into the al-Hurriyah Food and Vegetable Market in a Kurdish area of the city.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in a hospital in the city as saying that it had received six bodies and 47 injured people, including 10 who were in serious condition.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying, however, that the blast occurred when an explosives-packed car that had been parked in the popular market in the al-Hurriyah area blew up, contradicting the other puppet police claim that a car bomber had been involved.

In addition to inflicting casualties, the explosion damaged a number of private cars and shops in the area.

The source said that the dead had worked in the department of the Wadi Hajar Oilfield to the south of al-Mawsil. All had been shot in the head and chest and all were dressed in civilian clothing at the time of their executions.
