American-backed puppet police together with Shi‘i sectarian gunmen attack Palestinian residential complex in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 10:38pm Makkah time Saturday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that of Friday afternoon, US-backed “order protection” puppet police and Shi‘i sectarian militias attacked the al-Baladiyat complex in which Palestinian refugees live in Baghdad
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet “order protection” police took up positions atop Building No. 13 in the complex and opened fire at people who were taking advantage of Friday − the day off in Iraq − to play ball in the Hayfa Sports Club there. The puppet police and Shi‘i sectarian gunmen accompanying them shouted at the players to leave the club and then opened fire with their weapons on the roofs of neighboring houses sowing panic among the Palestinians and their Iraqi neighbors.
The Palestinians resident in the complex said that those puppet police and sectarian militiamen show up every day on the pretext of “protecting” the residents but all they do is intimidate and provoke, trying to pick fights and find excuses to abuse them.
The residents see the recurrent attacks and provocations as a definite indication that there are plans to carry out further wholesale attacks on the Palestinian population.
Two men arrested by US troops Friday afternoon found dead in front of their home in north Baghdad suburb early Saturday.
In a dispatch posted at 3:13pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US occupation troops killed two residents of the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji on Friday afternoon.
The AMSI reported witnesses as saying that the Americans stormed into the home of Sharaf Jasim ad-Dulaymi and his brother Muhammad Jasim ad-Dulaymi on Friday afternoon. The Americans abducted the Jasim brothers, taking them away to an unknown destination.
Then at 1am Saturday morning, the bodies of the two men were found lying in front of their house.
AMSI commented: “this crime of the occupation comes at a time when the regions of Iraq that are rejecting the occupation are the target of intense bombing and blockades by the occupation forces.”
US admits death of Marine in al-Anbar Province Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:31pm Makkah time midday Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military had admitted Saturday that one American Marine had been killed in combat with the Iraqi Resistance in al-Anbar Province on Thursday, 2 August.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in keeping with the US policy of concealing the facts regarding American losses in Iraq, the announcement offered no further details, not even specifying where in the 138,501 square kilometers of al-Anbar Province the attack occurred.
Australia admits five occupation troops wounded in southern Iraq.
In a dispatch posted at 12:09pm Baghdad time midday Saturday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Australia’s Defence Ministry had announced Friday that five of its occupation troops had been wounded in southern Iraq.
The AMSI reported the Australian statement as saying that four of the five were released from hospital after treatment. The official Australian spokesman claimed that the fifth soldier would also soon be released from hospital.
US admits three Americans killed in Baghdad Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Baghdad time Saturday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military admitted on Friday afternoon that a bomb in Baghdad had killed three more American occupation troops and wounded 11 more on Thursday 2 August.
The AMSI reported the American announcement as saying that two of the wounded men returned to duty after treatment.
