US admits two troops killed in operations to the south of Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted on its website Thursday, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported the US military as admitting that a mortar attack killed two American troops who were engaged in combat operations to the south of Baghdad. In keeping with America’s policy of concealing facts about its losses in Iraq, no further details were disclosed.
US admits first soldier killed in occupied Iraq in August.
In a dispatch posted at 12:09pm Baghdad time midday Thursday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol vehicle near the southern city of al-Basrah on Wednesday, 1 August.
The AMSI reported the Americans as admitting that one US soldier was killed and two more wounded in the attack, the first that the Americans have admitted for the month of August.

In a dispatch posted at 10:19am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military announced that two of its soldiers had been killed and 10 more wounded on the last day of July.
The AMSI reported the American announcement as saying that the Americans came under attack on 31 July. In keeping with the US policy of hiding facts regarding American losses in Iraq, the statement offered no further details on the circumstances of the attack.

Resistance car bomber blasts into puppet police recruits, killing six.
In a dispatch posted at 3:55pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a puppet police station in Hibhib near Ba‘qubah − which is 65km northeast of Baghdad on Thursday.
In a dispatch posted on its website Thursday, Quds Press reported that the attack killed 13 and wounded dozens more. A source in the puppet police told Quds Press that the powerful blast was heard in many parts of the town.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police said that that attacker slammed into a line of recruits who were joining the American-run puppet police. The attack killed six puppet policemen and seven “civilians” according to the spokesman.

Bomb wounds puppet troops after Bedouin clash with “armed men.”
In a dispatch posted at 3:55pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that three people were killed and two more wounded in an armed clash between Bedouin tribesmen and armed men in the town of Jubaylah, 65km south of Baghdad.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported puppet police sources as saying that after that battle broke out a bomb that had been planted by a road in the area blew up by a patrol of the puppet army that was sent to deal with the clash. Two puppet soldiers were wounded in that blast.

Unexplained bomb wounds four in Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted on its website Thursday, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that a mysterious bomb that had been hidden in a garbage bag blew up near a restaurant in the city of Kirkuk 255km north of Baghdad.
The puppet police told al-Jazeera that the blast, the reason for which was unclear, wounded four persons.

British facilities in al-Basrah blasted by mortars, rockets, RPGs.
In a dispatch posted at 12:16pm Baghdad time midday Thursday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the British occupation headquarters in the southern city of al-Basrah came under attack during the previous 24 hours.
The AMSI reported an announcement by the British occupation forces as saying that the headquarters in al-Basrah International Airport and the joint coordination center came under attack by Katyusha rockets, mortar shells, and rocket-propelled grenades at various times during the previous day and night. The British claimed as usual that the attacks caused no casualties or damage.
