Sectarian murder spree continues: 25 more bodies found dumped in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 9:38pm Baghdad time Monday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the puppet police had retrieved another 25 bodies of victims of sectarian murder that had been dumped in various parts of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that most of the bodies were bound and blindfolded and shot to death.
US announces start of offensive south of Baghdad Monday.
In a dispatch posted at 10:05am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military had announced that it had deployed about 8,000 men in an offensive begun on Monday in the agricultural area to the south of Baghdad.
Bomb kills five puppet policemen in northeastern Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 9:57am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in northeastern Baghdad.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported the puppet police as announcing that a bomb went off by a puppet police apatrol in the old Bab ash-Sham commercial and manufacturing district, which is located near the highway linking Baghdad with Diyala Province. The puppet police announced that the attack left five puppet policemen dead.
US admits one more American soldier killed.
In a dispatch posted at 9:49am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US occupation forces admitted that one more American soldier had been killed in Ninwa Province.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported the American statement as indicating that the soldier was a special forces soldier and that he died of wounds received in an Iraqi Resistance bomb explosion that took place in the course of a battle with the Iraqi Resistance on Sunday, 15 July.
Diyala Province.
Al-Miqdadiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:10pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US helicopter gun ships blasted villages to the northeast of al-Miqdadiyah, (which is 85km northeast of Baghdad), at dawn on Monday.
The AMSI reported local residents as saying that swarms of US helicopters fired four rockets into the village of Qazaljah. No information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.
In a dispatch posted at 2;10pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb destroyed a Humvee, killing or wounding the US troops aboard it.
Wasit Province.
Badrah.
Escaped Iranians recaptured.
In a dispatch posted at 9:33pm Baghdad time Monday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that puppet police in Wasit Province announced that they had recaptured 20 Iranians who had escaped from prison in the town of Badrah, not far from the Iranian border.
The AMSI reported Major General Husayn ‘Abd al-Hadi Mahbubah, commander of the Wasit Provincial puppet police, as announcing to the press that the escaped prisoners had been apprehended.
Badrah had been under curfew until just before noon on Monday after 24 Iranians charged with entering Iraq illegally smashed down the door of their prison and escaped on Saturday evening. Four of the escapees were picked up on Sunday morning, the rest were captured on Monday morning before they could cross the border back into their native country.
General ‘Abd al-Hadi said that a number of members of the prison staff, including an officer, had been arrested and were currently in custody and under investigation to ascertain what role they might have played − if any − in the escape of the Iranians. ‘Abd al-Hadi claimed, however, that there had been no conniving by the prison staff in the escape.

Katyusha rockets blast into US Camp Echo near ad-Diwaniyah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:10pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US Camp Echo near ad-Diwaniyah, which is about 180km south of Baghdad, came under Katyusha rocket attack at 6:30am local time shortly after sunrise Monday morning
The AMSI reported that the rockets blasted into the camp from south of the city. No information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.
Dhi Qar Province.
An-Nasiriyah.
Three puppet policemen die in attack in an-Nasiriyah.
In a dispatch posted at 3:23pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that three puppet policemen were killed and four more wounded in a clash with fighters in the city of an-Nasiriyah.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the incident took place near the ‘Abir Bridge on the highway linking an-Nasiriyah with al-Basrah to the south.
At-Ta’mim Province.
Kirkuk.
Accounts vary over target of vehicle bombs in Kirkuk that reportedly kill at least 80 people.
In a dispatch posted at 4:56pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi puppet police had reported that at least 80 people had been killed in Kirkuk on Monday when a man exploded a truck bomb in a crowded marked. The puppet police reported that there had also been another attack in which an explosives-laden car that had been parked on a crowded street blew up in Kirkuk
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in addition to those killed, the puppet police were claiming that 136 people had been wounded in the two Kirkuk bombings and that the number of casualties was likely to rise further.
The puppet police said that the car bomb took place in a commercial area near a car park and bus stop and that the two bombs went off only minutes apart.
Mafkarat al-Islam noted that there are many attacks in the city of Kirkuk, which the Kurdish separatists are seeking to annex to their American-protected enclave, and that many of the attacks are aimed at driving the native Arab population to leave the city so as to facilitate the Kurdish separatist takeover.
Earlier in the day, however, in a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomber had driven an explosives-laden truck into the headquarters of a pro-American Kurdish separatist political party near Kirkuk, about 250km northeast of Baghdad.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported Major Qadir Zankanah of the Kirkuk puppet police as saying that by preliminary count the blast killed at least 10 people and wounded over 60 more.
Puppet policeman killed in ambush in Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed and killed an Iraqi puppet policeman as he headed to work to the north of Kirkuk.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that after the attack, the puppet police patrols rushed into the area where they arrested five individuals as “suspects.”
Car bomb targets puppet police patrol in Dumiz district of Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted at 3:23pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an explosives-packed Brazilian car blew up by a puppet “Rescue Police” patrol in the Dumiz district of Kirkuk.

Resistance bomb wounds puppet policeman Sunday night.
In a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in al-Huwayjah, about 200km north of Baghdad, on Sunday evening.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police in Kirkuk as saying that one puppet policeman was wounded in the attack that also damaged a patrol vehicle.
Al-Basrah Province.
Al-Basrah.
British forces bombard neighborhood in al-Basrah after attack.
In a dispatch posted at 10:44am Baghdad time Monday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that British occupation forces blasted the al-Muhandiseen neighborhood of western al-Basrah with artillery at dawn on Monday.
The AMSI reported British officials said that the attack on the neighborhood was in response to an “indirect fire” attack on al-Basrah International Airport where the British forces have one of their bases. The British announcement made no mention of casualties or damage.
Eyewitnesses on the scene said that the British bombardment caused several casualties among the local civilian residents in addition to damaging several houses and cars.
Meanwhile the British headquarters in the presidential palaces and the Airport both came under mortar attack during the night and at dawn Monday. As usual the British communique´ on those attacks claimed that the bombardments inflicted no casualties or damage.
