The head of the newpaper’s Baghdad bureau confirmed Hasan’s death, praising him as courageous and inventive.”
The death of Hasan came one day after the British news agency Reuters lost an Iraqi cameraman and his driver in an attack in an American helicopter gun ship attack − according to witnesses and the puppet police. From the beginning of its invasion of Iraq in spring 2003, the US has sought to underpin its occupation of the country by creating puppet police and army forces out of tens of thousands of gunmen belonging to Shi‘i sectarian militias − many of them trained in Iran for decades prior to the American attack on Iraq.
Now that the US is being forced to retreat from Iraq under the blows of the Resistance, the Iranian regime is seeking to step into the shoes of the departing Americans and there have been increasing clashes between US forces and Iranian-backed gunmen, many of them members of the American-run puppet police and puppet army.

The puppet regime said that the attackers got to the scene in cars that they parked near the al-Kaylani fuel station near the “Ministry,” and then assaulted the guards, firing rocket-propelled grenades and PKS medium machine guns at them.
