Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Fallujah.
Bodies of 46 victims murdered by US-supported sectarian “Shock Troops” found near al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 10:23pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Iraqi puppet police had recovered the bodies of 46 people in the western Baghdad district of ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah. The bodies showed clear signs of torture and had been shot to death.
Torture is a trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-backed security services of the puppet Iraqi regime, most of whose members are drawn from the sectarian militias.
The AMSI reported medical sources in al-Fallujah General Hospital as saying that puppet police patrols in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah brought the bodies to the hospital.
Earlier, in a dispatch posted at 9:26pm Baghdad time Saturday evening, AMSI reported a source in the Intelligence service of the puppet “Interior Ministry” in al-Fallujah as saying that farmers who live to the southwest of ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah had told a puppet police patrol that military vehicles belonging to puppet regime forces had dumped the bodies near their farm fields and then driven off. The source said that an investigation confirmed the farmers’ report.
For his part a source in the ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah puppet municipal council reported that some of the bodies had been identified as belonging to individuals who had been arrested by the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” several weeks ago. The victims were residents of ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah and the villages and rural area nearby.
The US-backed “Shock Troops” are known for being largely made up of Shi‘i sectarian gunmen who routinely kidnap, torture, and murder Sunnis in various parts of Iraq as part of their effort to promote Zionist and US schemes to partition Iraq on sectarian lines.
Efforts to split Iraq along religious and ethnic lines are part of the plans that US and Zionist politicians have long been cultivating with a view to fragmenting the Arab region.
The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)
The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”
The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.
Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.
Resistance shoots down unmanned US spy plane near al-Fallujah Saturday morning.
In a dispatch posted on its website Saturday, Quds Press reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had shot down an unmanned American spy plane that had been prowling the skies above the area of as-Saqlawiyah, 17km north of al-Fallujah (which is about 60km west of Baghdad) at 8am local time Saturday morning.
Residents of al-Hamdaniyah village in the as-Saqlawiyah area said that the plane came under heavy gunfire from the Resistance men, bringing it down on the spot. The Resistance then confiscated the wreckage. As of the time of reporting, the Americans had made no statement confirming or denying the attack.
About one month ago, US forces locked down the city of al-Fallujah, imposing a ban on motor traffic and closing the city’s entrances and exits. US military vehicles have put the area around the city under constant surveillance as well.
Baghdad.
Resistance bomb kills US soldier in Baghdad Friday, US admits.
In a dispatch posted at 8:40pm Makkah time Saturday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military issued a statement on Saturday admitting that one more of the American occupation soldiers had been killed in occupied Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by US troops during a battle between the Americans and the Resistance in Baghdad. The blast went off by a US patrol in southern Baghdad Friday and killed one American and wounded three more of them.
Salah ad-Din Province.
At-Tarimiyah.
Residents of at-Tarimiyah demonstrate for release of local woman abducted by US troops at her home on Friday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:49am Baghdad time Saturday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that residents of at-Tarimiyah, 30km north of Baghdad, took to the streets Saturday to demand that US forces release a local woman whom they had arrested the day before.
The AMSI reported that the protesters marched on the US base in at-Tarimiyah insisting that the Americans set free Muruwwah ‘Abd ar-Rahman Sa‘id. American troops abducted her from her home in the al-Bu Shallal area of the city at 6pm local time Friday afternoon.
AMSI noted that recently the US and puppet army forces have been arresting women as a means to pressure their male relatives to turn themselves in to American occupation authorities. This method of pressuring the local population has aroused intense resentment and prompted many demonstrations in which protestors have called for revenge against the Americans.
Diyala Province.
Al-Miqdadiyah.
Resistance bomber kills six puppet police recruits in Saturday morning attack in al-Miqdadiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:55pm Baghdad time midday Saturday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance fighter wearing an explosive belt blew himself up in the midst of a crowd of recruits volunteering to join the US-run puppet police at a police station in the middle of al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad on Saturday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 5:30pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bomber blew himself up by line of volunteers waiting to get into the recruiting station and that at least six people had been killed and 30 more of them wounded in the attack.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that an individual blew himself up among recruits in the al-‘Asri neighborhood of al-Miqdadiyah at 9am local time Saturday morning. The blast killed or wounded more than 35 of the collaborators.
The source added that after the attack, Resistance fighters attacked the area with hand grenades, killing or wounding still more of the volunteers.
Puppet security forces immediately closed all access to the area as ambulances and puppet patrol cars ferried the dead and wounded to hospital.
Resistance blasts two puppet regime installations in al-Miqdadiyah Friday night.
In a dispatch posted at 3:19pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four mortar rounds at the headquarters of the puppet police and at the headquarters of a detachment of puppet regime troops in the city of al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad on Friday night.
The AMSI reported a source in the local puppet police as saying that the attacks inflicted heavy damage on the two headquarters but claimed that no casualties resulted.
During the day on Friday, attacks on the headquarters of puppet security forces in the city left one puppet soldier dad and a second wounded.
Babil Province.
Al-Latifiyah.
US troops round up 59 people in al-Latifiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 3:19pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US occupation forces backed up by puppet security troops arrested 59 people near the city of al-Latifiyah, 40km south of Baghdad.
Al-Hillah.
Shells land near US headquarters in al-Hillah Friday night.
In a dispatch posted at 9:43am Baghdad time Saturday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that three mortar shells landed in the vicinity of the US headquarters in al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad at 10pm local time Friday night.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet “Scorpion Brigade” as claiming that the shells landed harmlessly around the area.
