The head of the public relations committee
for promoting the “enforcing the law” security plan;
Ahmad Chalabi visited Al Mutanabi Street and promised that the street
would be rebuilt according to the landlords’ preferred designs.
Our reporter Belal abeld Amer provided us with the following report.
「法律実施」治安計画促進広報委員会の長；チャラビは、ムタナビ通りを訪問し
家主の望むデザインで再建すると約束しました。

It has been three month since Al Mutnabi Street was shaken by
an explosion, but according to landlords, not much has been done
to rebuild the street other than removing the rubble, despite promises
by officials in charge of “enforcing the law” security plan.
ムタナビ通りで爆破があってから三か月が経ちました。
しかし家主達によれば、「法律実施」治安計画に責任を持つ当局の約束にも
関わらず、瓦礫を取り除くこと以外に、通りの再建は殆ど行われませんでした。

After the explosion, all our businesses experienced a set back.
A lot of people were martyred here.
Many good people left.
We heard a lot of promises from the government,
but nothing has been done to the best of my knowledge.
We feel that our wound is bleeding while the government is moving slowly.
We feel that the government promises were only intended for publicity
and to calm people down.
So far nothing practical has been done.
The only thing that has been done so far is that
the municipality has hired a contractor to remove the rubble.
爆発後、ビジネスは衰えました。
多くの人々がここで迫害されました。
多くの善良な人々が去りました。
政府から多くの約束を聞きました。
しかし私の知る限りでは何も為されませんでした。
政府が緩慢な間に、我々はますます悪化していると感じます。

All of our businesses were on this street.
The traffic has been very slow, and there are no cosumers.
We are isolated here.
爆発後、ビジネスは止まりました。

私達はここで孤立しています。

A committee in charge of promoting the ‘enforcing the law security
plan’, headed by Ahmad Chalabi promised that the street will be rebuilt
according to the landlords’ preferred designs.
チャラビ率いる「法律実施」治安計画促進広報委員会が、
家主の望むデザインで通りが再建されると約束しました。

We must all work to bring life back to this vital and historical area
of Baghdad.
This building which used to be a folkloric center was damaged.
It’s also been subjected to thefts and sabotage
and we have to deal with that.
I have talked with people whose shops in al Mutanabi streets
were damaged.
We will try to provide them with some compensation.
We also asked them to form a committee through which they can express
their opinion about their preferred designs to rebuild Al Mutanabi Street.
We have a financial fund that has been allocated for this purpose.
The reconstruction will start as soon as the designs are selected.
私達は皆バグダッドのこの活気のある歴史的な区域に
生気を取り戻す為に活動しなければなりません。
民俗センターだったこの建物は破損していました。
盗難と破壊活動も受けました。
対処しなければなりません。
私は通りの店が損害を被った人達と話をしました。
若干の補償を提供するでしょう。
ムタナビ通りを再建する為に望ましいデザインについて
意見を表明する委員会を組織するように頼みました。
この目的に割り当てられた金融投資信託があります。
デザインが決まれば直ぐに再建は始まるでしょう。

in a way that preserves its character.
