Al-Fallujah.
American troops announce storming house in al-Fallujah, killing five.
In a dispatch posted at 12:44pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military announced that they had raided a house in al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, killing five local residents and abducting two more of them.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the American communique´ as claiming that the attack on the house was part of the US effort to find a “man linked to al-Qa‘idah” who, the Americans alleged, was distributing arms to local people with which to fight the occupation.
Baghdad.
Shi‘i sectarian militias, backed up by US-run puppet security forces press “cleansing” operation against Sunnis in Baghdad in preparation for implementation of Zionist plan to partition Iraq.
In a dispatch posted at 12:56pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia has continued to press its attacks on Sunnis and their mosques in the al-Bayya‘ neighborhood of Baghdad, shutting down five of them as their offensive continuously advanced with the backing and support of the American-run puppet regime forces.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that on Friday, the Shi‘i sectarian militias blew up the Fattah Basha mosque, including its minaret − which was the tallest in Baghdad. The militias carried out that act of destruction before the eyes of the US-run puppet regime security forces, most of whose members are themselves concurrently militiamen. US forces were nowhere to be seen, as their current slogan is to let the “Iraqis police themselves” − which in practice means to implement the partition plan under which Iraq will be divided into three states along sectarian and ethnic lines.
The pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian militias also detonated a bomb in the ar-Rahman Mosque, destroying major parts of the building and burning up the furnishings in the interior. Local residents were unable to save the building, which has now been closed.
The Shi‘i sectarians, backed by the American-led forces also blew up the minarets of the Khudayr al-Jannabi and al-Kawthar Mosques in the same neighborhood, as the campaign of sectarian pillage and destruction continued with not so much as a whimper of disapproval from the US-installed puppet regime.
Shi‘i sectarian militias also occupied the Sunni as-Siddiq al-Amin mosque in the same district, this one located in the middle of the local market, after storming it and taking it over, killing the imam and muezzin there.
In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Baghdad time Saturday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the Shi‘i sectarian militias attacked Building 830 in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of Baghdad at 6am local time Saturday morning after bombarding the al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Mosque during congregational prayers midday Friday. The Shi‘i sectarian gunmen also assaulted the Mu‘adh ibn Jabal Mosque in the south Baghdad neighborhood of as-Sayyidiyah.
The AMSI reported that the attack on Building 830 lasted from 6am until 9am local time. The American-run puppet “Order Protection Police” provided backup and cover for the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen in their assault in which the sectarian attackers used the modern American military issue weapons against neighborhood defenders equipped only with their personal hand guns and light arms.
Eyewitnesses said that that the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian gunmen who attacked the Mu‘adh ibn Jabal Mosque in as-Sayyidiyah rode to their objective in patrol cars from the local puppet police station.
The AMSI also reported that when the Shi‘i sectarian militias bombarded the al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Mosque in the as-Sayyidiyah neighborhood during congregational prayers there on Friday, they were firing newly-manufactured heavy 120mm mortar rounds at the crowded building.
The Shi‘i sectarian gunmen have also set up numerous checkpoints around the al-Bayya‘ and as-Sayyidiyah districts. Such checkpoints have been observed near the al-Bayya ‘ fuel station, atop the bridge linking the Nafaq ash-Shurtah with the al-‘Amil neighborhood, and the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen have also deployed in force on the main streets in the neighborhoods as part of their effort to drive Sunnis out of still more parts of the US-occupied Iraqi capital.
The Shi‘i sectarian militias are carrying out a massive offensive against the Sunni population of Baghdad and much of the rest of Iraq in an effort to drive them out of whole sections of the country so that Iraq can be partitioned.
The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)
The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”
The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.
Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.
As Shi‘i sectarian torture, murder spree continues: 24 more bodies found murdered in Baghdad Saturday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:13am Baghdad time Sunday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the Iraqi puppet police had picked up the bodies of 24 more unidentified bodies dumped in various parts of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that most of the victims had been bound and blindfolded and tortured. They were then shot in various parts of the body. Torture is the trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-run puppet security forces whose members are drawn from the Shi‘i sectarian militias.
Resistance bomb wounds puppet police in southern Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 11:53pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in the southern Baghdad district of az-Za‘faraniyah
The AMSI reported that the explosion wounded three puppet policemen, according to a puppet police source.
Mysterious bomb destroys minibus.
In a dispatch posted at 11:53pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a mysterious bomb went off near a minibus in the al-Baladiyat area of eastern Baghdad on Saturday afternoon.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the explosion destroyed the minibus, killed four civilians and wounded six more of them. The puppet police did not make clear what the reason for the attack might have been.
Bomb rips through US patrol in southeastern Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 9:11pm Baghdad time Saturday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol in the Nuwwab ad-Dubbat neighborhood of southeastern Baghdad.
The AMSI reported that the blast destroyed one American vehicle. No information on the nature or extent of US casualties was available because US forces opened fire indiscriminately and intensely around the area and then pulled out.
US forces abduct five people in at-Taji.
In a dispatch posted at 12:44pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces had arrested five people in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji, claiming that they are linked to al-Qa‘idah.
Resistance bombs batter puppet troops, police in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 12:44pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance detonated a car bomb by a patrol of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)”in the ash-Sha‘b district of northeastern Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the puppet security services as saying that one puppet “Shock Trooper” was killed in the blast and eight more people wounded − six of those puppet policemen.
A source in the al-Imam ‘Ali Hospital in the Baghdad district of Madinat ath-Thawrah (nicknamed “Madinat as-Sadr” since the US occupation) confirmed that his facility had received two corpses and eight injured men, six of those puppet “Shock Troops” who had been wounded in the attack.
Meanwhile, sources in the puppet military forces reported that the Iraqi Resistance clashed with puppet policemen in the ash-Sha‘b district, leaving one of the puppet policemen dead.
Diyala Province.
Al-Mada’in.
Puppet army troops assassinate tribal leader in al-Mada’in midday Saturday.
In a dispatch posted at 10:52pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that troops of the puppet “Lion Brigade” attacked and killed Shaykh Hamid ‘Ali Khalaf, the chief of the al-Masharifah branch of the ad-Dulaym tribe in the al-Wahdah housing area of al-Mada’in, 25km southeast of Baghdad, at noon Saturday.
The AMSI reported relatives of Shaykh Hamid ‘Ali Khalaf as saying that the puppet regime’s elite “Lion Brigade” raided the Jasim an-Nasif Village area in the al-Wahdah development area and opened fire on the personal car in which the Shaykh was leaving the village. The Shaykh died on the spot.
AMSI noted that such assassinations by the American-installed security services are virtually a daily occurrence as the regime attempts to pressure all the people and social groups that oppose the US occupation out of the area as part of the American-Zionist partition plan for Iraq.
Ba‘qubah.
US admits death of one more American occupation soldier in Diyala Province Saturday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:13am Baghdad time Sunday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military had issued a communique´ in which it admitted that one of its troops had been killed in Diyala Province on Saturday.
The AMSI reported the US announcement as saying that one American member of the military task force had died of wounds received in combat in Diyala Province.
Resistance bomber reportedly inflicts casualties on US column in Ba‘qubah.
In a dispatch posted at pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance fighter wearing an explosive belt attacked a US military base in Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad
The correspondent for AMSI reported sources in the Iraqi puppet security forces as saying that fighter wearing an explosive belt blew himself up near the US military base in the at-Tahrir area to the southeast of Ba‘qubah at noon Saturday. The source said that attacker blew himself up as US military force was entering the base, killing and wounding a number of American troops.
The source indicated, however, that an accurate accounting of the nature and extent of US casualties was difficult to ascertain because the Americans rushed to impose a security cordon around the attack zone, as US helicopter gun ships patrolled the skies overhead.
Khan Bani Sa‘d.
Resistance bomb destroys US Humvee in Khan Bani Sa‘d, killing or wounding all aboard Saturday.
In a dispatch posted at 3:15pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the Khan Bani Sa‘d area, 40km northeast of Baghdad, on Saturday.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet Iraqi security services as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the city went off, destroying one US Humvee and killing or wounding all aboard.
Babil Province.
Al-Iskandariyah.
Resistance bomber kills 12 puppet troops in al-Iskandariyah Saturday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 7:01pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fighter drove an explosives-packed truck into a checkpoint manned by puppet Iraqi army soldiers in al-Iskandariyah, 40km south of Baghdad at about 5pm local time Saturday afternoon.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance fida’i fighter drove his vehicle near the main gate to the headquarters of the 4th Division of the puppet army and blew up. The puppet police reported that a search is underway for remains of soldiers, but that by preliminary count 12 of the puppet troops were killed and another 30 more of them wounded in the attack.
Al-Basrah Province.
Umm Qasr.
US claims six Camp Bucca prisoners killed in rocket attack.
In a dispatch posted at 4:20pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military had announced that six prisoners whom it had been holding in its prison Camp Bucca in Umm Qasr, 8km south of al-Basrah in southern Iraq had been killed and 50 more people wounded when a rocket or mortar shell landed on the prison camp Saturday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a US spokesman as saying that the attack was the result of “indirect fire” in which an unspecified number of mortar shells or rockets were fired at the prison.
The area of southern Iraq, in particular the area around al-Basrah, has been the scene of infighting between rival Shi‘i sectarian parties and militias − all supporters of the US occupation − now battling one another to try to secure for themselves a dominant position in oil-rich southern Iraq when the British occupation forces depart.
Prison Camp Bucca is one of the largest camps in the Americans’ vast network of prisons set up in occupied Iraq and currently containing more than 20,000 imprisoned Iraqis. Although US propaganda justified its invasion of Iraq on the grounds that the Iraqi government was “repressive,” the American occupiers had to construct new prison facilities in the country after their invasion because the facilities maintained by the Iraqi government prior to the invasion were insufficient to hold all the people being rounded up and jailed by the American “liberators.”
