Baghdad.

US admits seven more American troops killed in Iraqi Resistance attacks across Iraq Saturday, Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 4:25pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that seven more US soldiers had been killed in various Resistance attacks across occupied Iraq on Saturday and Sunday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a US communique´ as saying that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by US troops on a combat mission to the west of Baghdad on Saturday, killing one and wounding two more American occupation troops.

Resistance fighters killed a second American soldier − a member of a special striking unit − on Saturday as he was taking part in “security duties” somewhere to the south of Baghdad, the nebulous US statement went on.

An Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter attacked a US military vehicle to the southwest of Baghdad, the US statement went on, killing one more American soldier and wounding three more of them − also members of a special striking unit − in operations on Saturday. The American troops were trying to interrogate what they called “two suspects” near a mosque in the area, when one of them blew himself up, killing the one American, the US report maintained.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded near a US military vehicle that was taking part in operations in Diyala Province northeast of Baghdad on Saturday, the US admitted, adding that the attack killed one US soldier and wounded four more of them − all of them members of a special striking unit.

Another Iraqi Resistance bomb went off near a US military vehicle in Diyala Province on Saturday, killing a fifth American soldier and wounding two more US troops.

Finally, an Iraqi Resistance bomb went off by a patrol of US special striking forces as they were conducting operations in the northern Iraqi province of Ninwa on Saturday. That blast killed two US troops according to the American communique´.

Islamic Army issues statement.

In a statement posted on its website on Sunday, 3 June 2007, the Iraqi Resistance organization the Islamic Army declared that the US occupation and its stooges were trying to use the internal strife between the Islamic Army and the al-Qa‘idah organization in order to promote their plans in occupied Iraq.

In that context, the Islamic Army flatly denied claims concocted by the US-based al-Hurrah Arabic-language TV propaganda station that it was planning to stop fighting the US occupation and turn its guns on al-Qa‘idah, while holding talks with the American invaders.

The Islamic Army statement, signed by its official spokesman Dr. ‘Ali an-Nu‘aymi, declared that:

The Mujahideen of the Islamic Army in Iraq will continue to direct their gunfire at the US occupation and its stooges and against all those who target the innocent in various parts of Iraq, particularly the innocent Sunnis in areas such as al-‘Amiriyah. It will not stop doing so until it has attained its aims of expelling the occupation and its stooges. The statement noted that the recent clashes with al-Qa‘idah had not deterred the Islamic Army from continuing its attacks on the US and Iranian-backed forces in Iraq.

The Islamic Army is not now carrying on any negotiations with anyone whatsoever, and whenever such talks do take place the Islamic Army will not conceal it from anyone in the Islamic community, in particular from the brother Mujahideen.

The jihadi effort on which the activity of the Islamic Army is based will remain restricted to true Mujahideen; the Islamic Army will not seek the help of anyone other than jihadi organizations in order to attain the goals of this jihadi effort.

The Islamic Army has no responsibility for any statement that has not been issued by official sources in the Islamic Army.

Local residents gathered up the scattered limbs and buried them in the city cemetery.

Meanwhile US forces continued their strikes at groves and farms in the ad-Dulu‘iyah area, firing shells at two cars and setting fire to numerous farms and groves. Eyewitnesses said that that aspect of the American offensive had, however, caused no casualties.

The explosion targeted a convoy transporting “security prisoners” from Mandali, a town on the Iranian border, to Balad Ruz. The explosion killed one puppet policeman and nine other people, the source said, and added that 25 other people were wounded in the attack.

The AMSI reported that the buses failed to stop at the checkpoint, prompting the puppet troops to open fire on them. The attack killed five civilians and wounded 10 more of them. A puppet regime spokesman, who claimed that the attack was carried out by unknown armed men in puppet army uniforms, said that the attackers left after carrying out the assault on the buses. The bodies of the dead and the wounded were later taken to Ba‘qubah hospitals for treatment.

US forces wound two Iraqi women in ad-Diwaniyah midday Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:58pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US occupation forces opened fire on a private car in ad-Diwaniyah, 189km south of Baghdad, at noon Sunday, wounding two women.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet security forces as saying that US forces shot at a private Brazilian-made car in which two women were driving through the as-Sadr neighborhood in ad-Diwaniyah. The as-Sadr neighborhood has been the scene of fighting in recent days between US forces and the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, which is trying to position itself to step into America’s shoes when the US departs Iraq.

Witnesses said that the American gunfire caused the car to burst into flame. The two women inside were taken to the ad-Diwaniyah General Hospital for treatment of burns.

Dahuk Province.
Nazdur.

Turkish artillery blasts Kurdish villages in northern Iraq Saturday.

In a dispatch posted on its website Sunday, 3 June 2007, Quds Press reported pro-American Kurdish separatist military sources as saying that Turkish artillery blasted a number of villages and regions located inside Iraq on Saturday night.

Quds Press reported the pro-American Kurdish separatist authorities as telling the local media that Turkish artillery shelled areas near the villages of Kaystah and Nazdur, about 25km northeast of Zakhu, near the border in the areas of Batifa and Kani Masi in the far northern Iraqi province of Dahuk.

The source said that about 10 shells were fired from inside Turkish territory and landed to the north of Nazdur and Kaystah.

Quds Press reported that residents of the nearby villages of Kashan, Sabindar, and Baytkar reported that their areas had also come under Turkish artillery bombardment after noon on Saturday.

Muhammad Kaysti of Kaystah village, near the border town of Kani Masi (opposite the southeastern corner of the Turkish province of y´rnak [Shirnak]), told Quds Press that the Turkish bombardments of border areas had been going on and were intensifying one day after the other, particularly after the Turks began massing military vehicles just north of the border.

Quds Press noted that Turkey had recently begun concentrating forces in border regions close to Iraq in an effort to block the infiltration of Kurdish separatists who have been carrying out attacks on Turkish soil. Turkish leaders have reported that weapons found with the Kurdish separatists in Turkey have been identified as originating in US-occupied Iraq and Ankara has accused the American-backed Kurdish separatists in northern Iraq of giving safe havens to the Kurdish fighters who carry out attacks inside Turkey.

On Sunday, US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates issued a warning to Turkey not to take military action against the American-backed Kurdish separatists holed up in US-occupied northern Iraq.
