Islamic Army issues statement.
In a statement posted on its website on Sunday, 3 June 2007, the Iraqi Resistance organization the Islamic Army declared that the US occupation and its stooges were trying to use the internal strife between the Islamic Army and the al-Qa‘idah organization in order to promote their plans in occupied Iraq.
In that context, the Islamic Army flatly denied claims concocted by the US-based al-Hurrah Arabic-language TV propaganda station that it was planning to stop fighting the US occupation and turn its guns on al-Qa‘idah, while holding talks with the American invaders.
The Islamic Army statement, signed by its official spokesman Dr. ‘Ali an-Nu‘aymi, declared that:
The Mujahideen of the Islamic Army in Iraq will continue to direct their gunfire at the US occupation and its stooges and against all those who target the innocent in various parts of Iraq, particularly the innocent Sunnis in areas such as al-‘Amiriyah. It will not stop doing so until it has attained its aims of expelling the occupation and its stooges. The statement noted that the recent clashes with al-Qa‘idah had not deterred the Islamic Army from continuing its attacks on the US and Iranian-backed forces in Iraq.
The Islamic Army is not now carrying on any negotiations with anyone whatsoever, and whenever such talks do take place the Islamic Army will not conceal it from anyone in the Islamic community, in particular from the brother Mujahideen.
The jihadi effort on which the activity of the Islamic Army is based will remain restricted to true Mujahideen; the Islamic Army will not seek the help of anyone other than jihadi organizations in order to attain the goals of this jihadi effort.
The Islamic Army has no responsibility for any statement that has not been issued by official sources in the Islamic Army.
