Al-Anbar Province.
Hit.
US locks down Hit, causes splits among tribes following arrest of local puppet police chief on charges of serving Iraqi Resistance.
In a dispatch posted at 12:06am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US occupation forces had imposed a curfew on the city of Hit, 180km northwest of Baghdad, starting at 6am Wednesday morning until 9pm Wednesday night.
The AMSI reported eyewitnesses in the city as saying that the American occupation troops also sealed off the only bridge in the city, preventing people on one side of the river from being able to visit the other side, splitting families and making it impossible for many people to reach the hospital. The Americans also cut off running water and electricity supply to the city and medical services are limited.
AMSI reported that a three-sided struggle was apparently going on in the city between the local Hit puppet police, the puppet so-called “al-Anbar Salvation Council,” and the US occupation troops. Local people fear that they will fall victim to the infighting between the groups. The reality demonstrates once again that ultimate authority on the ground lies with the American occupation forces.
On .Sunday evening, 27 May, US forces carried out raids on a number of houses in the Qannan area, 2km west of Hit. There they searched houses, ostensibly hunting for Resistance fighters. One day before this event, US forces raided houses in the Kubaysah area, 18km south of Hit and arrested four local residents there. Today the Americans are engaged in feverish raids and arrests in the city of Hit and its environs.
US forces also arrested the puppet police chief in Hit, Brigadier General Hamid Ibrahim Jazza‘, together with 15 old puppet police officers on charges of collaborating with the Iraqi Resistance. “Security” in the city has since been put in the hands of individuals, some of whom are criminals with wrap sheets.
Meanwhile, local residents fear that fighting may erupt between various tribes in the area, because US forces have designated one the local tribes to take on the role the local police for them while they appointed another tribe to serve as the emergency service for them, and a third to take on the role of puppet army. Although such appointments might seem routine, local sources indicated to AMSI that the role of the Americans and their efforts to sow the seeds of strife among the tribes were clear, causing residents of Hit and the area around it to fear an outbreak of fighting.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance blasts puppet court house in al-Fallujah Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 9:41pm Baghdad time Wednesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that two mortar shells blasted into different areas of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, killing six people and wounding 23 more, a source in the puppet police said.
The AMSI reported the puppet police source as saying that one mortar shell landed on the al-Fallujah court house in the al-Jumhuriyah neighborhood of the city Wednesday morning. The shelling killed five people and wounded 20 more, the source said.
The second shell, fired at about the same time, landed amidst residential houses in the al-Ba‘th neighborhood, killing a civilian and wounding three more members of one family. All the dead and wounded were taken to al-Fallujah General Hospital.
A medical source who asked not to be identified said that a third mortar shell landed near the US as-Simak base in the al-Wahdah neighborhood of the city but casualties from that blast were not known.
Abu Ghurayb.
Resistance fighters report killing collaborators Monday night.
In a communique´ posted on its website on Wednesday, 30 May 2007, the Iraqi Resistance organization the Iraqi Jihadi Groups [‘Asa’ib al-‘Iraq al-Jihadiyah] announced that one of its units had attacked an Opel car carrying collaborators with the US occupation forces in Abu Ghurayb at 11pm local time Monday, 28 May 2007.
The communique´ reported that the Resistance attack left two of the collaborators dead and three others wounded. The Opel they had been driving was set ablaze. The statement added that four more of the collaborators were wiped out at a false checkpoint that the Resistance men set up on the same road.
Baghdad.
Pro-Iranian Shi‘i fundamentalist Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen torture, murder 23 Iraqi workers in Baghdad, ‘Uwayrij as sectarian “cleansing” operations accelerate under US control.
In a statement published on their website Wednesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that on Tuesday the bodies of 12 individuals had been found murdered and dumped near the factory in the ‘Uwayrij area south of Baghdad. The victims had been bound and their bodies bore signs of vicious torture.
The AMSI reported that the victims had been factory workers in a plant where, due to the lack of security in the area, they had been forced to live at their place of work on Monday night. It was at that time that the Iranian-backed Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian militia found and abducted the workers.
The sectarian gunmen, loyal to Shi‘i fundamentalist cleric Muqtada as-Sadr, contacted families of the workers to demand ransoms from them. They then tortured their captives and killed them, knowing full well that they were residents of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.
In the Forensic Medicine Department of Baghdad today, the AMSI statement said, the bodies of about 11 individuals were discovered, bearing marks of atrocious torture. They were residents of the al-Fadl area of Baghdad who had been kidnapped by the Shi ‘ sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi at a checkpoint that they had to pass through in the ash-Sha‘b area on their way to work on Monday. The remains of three other workers who were abducted with them have yet to be discovered.
The AMSI statement declared: “these terrorist crimes prove the extent of the hatred ingrained in those sick minds for every innocent Iraqi who is simply struggling to earn an honest living and fulfill his basic needs − something that the occupation and its stooges, among them and others, have made so difficult to attain for the honorable and poor sons and daughters of our noble people.”
The AMSI statement concluded: “The Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq condemns these hateful crimes and holds the occupation and the current [puppet] government and the leaders of the sectarian militias fully responsible for them.”
Shi‘i sectarian torture, murder spree continues: 30 more bodies found dumped in various parts of Baghdad on Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:56pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi puppet police recovered 30 bodies of unknown persons most of whom had been tortured and murdered and their bodies then dumped in various parts of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that most of the bodies were bound and blindfolded and displayed signs of torture and gunshot wounds to the head and chest. He added that the bodies had been taken to the Forensic Medicine Department for identification.
Torture is a trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-backed puppet Iraqi security services whose members are largely drawn from those sectarian militias. The Shi‘i sectarian militias have been working hard to drive Sunnis out of much of southern and central Iraq, including much of the capital city, Baghdad, in order to implement plans, devised by Zionist and neo-Conservative think tanks, to partition the country on sectarian and ethnic lines.
The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)
The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”
The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.
Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.
Iranian-backed Jaysh al-Mahdi effort to “cleanse” al-Ghazaliyah of Sunnis, Palestinians resumes with death of father, son Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:24pm Baghdad time midday Wednesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that forced mass evictions have returned to the al-Ghazaliyah area of Baghdad after puppet “Iraqi National Guards” arrested two Palestinian refugees there on Tuesday.
The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the US-backed puppet “National Guards” handed the Palestinian captives over to the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia. The bodies of the two Palestinians, al-Hajj Tahsin and his son Ahma were later discovered dead. The men lived at No. 655 in al-Ghazaliyah. Al-Hajj Tahsin, who had Jordanian citizenship, had sent his family to Jordan, but stayed behind so that his son Ahmad could finish out the current academic year at college.
Residents of the area held a funeral service for the two Palestians at the Su ‘ad an-Naqib Mosque and then embarked on a silent march towards the US base in al-Ghazaliyah to protest the return of the Shi‘i sectarian death squads and their effort to forcibly drive Sunnis and Palestinian refugees out of the city.
Pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen set up fake checkpoints, round up people whose IDs indicate that they are Sunni.
In a dispatch posted at 12:10pm Baghdad time midday Wednesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that on Wednesday morning, the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia set up fake check points in the al-Bayya‘ district, the Karaj al-Bayya‘ area, the Madinat Al‘ab area of the as-Sayyidiyah district, and in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of Baghdad.
The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen proceeded to check people’s IDs and capture those whose documents revealed them to be Sunni in the Madinat Al‘ab and Karaj al-Bayya‘ districts. AMSI noted that large numbers of bodies of Sunnis believed to have been murdered by the Jaysh al-Mahdi followers of cleric Muqtada as-Sadr were found in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of Baghdad and in a mass grave of young people, unearthed in al-Mahmudiyah, about 25km south of Baghdad.
Diyala Province.
Al-Mada’in.
Three puppet policemen wounded in Resistance bombing in al-Mada’in.
In a dispatch posted at 10:28am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” patrol in al-Mada’in, 25km southeast of Baghdad, on Tuesday evening.
The AMSI reported a puppet police source as saying that the blast damaged a patrol vehicle and wounded four of the “Shock Troops.”
Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.
Resistance car bomb wounds puppet policemen in al-Mawsil midday Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi puppet police at noon Wednesday.
The AMSI reported a press spokesman in the puppet police command as saying that the blast destroyed a patrol vehicle and wounded two puppet policemen, both of whom were taken to hospital for treatment.
Two puppet policemen wounded in Resistance attack in al-Mawsil Wednesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 10:28am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a patrol of puppet police in the northern city of al-Mawsil on Wednesday morning.
The AMSI reported a press spokesman at the puppet police command for Ninwa Province as saying that the clash occurred in the as-Sukkar area on the left-bank (northeast) side of al-Mawsil near the back gate of al-Mawsil University. The spokesman admitted that two puppet policemen were wounded in the engagement.
