Resistance blows up bridge in western Baghdad Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:26pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces blew up an important bridge to the west of Baghdad on Thursday, destroying a part of the bridge that links the al-Khadra’ neighborhood with the al-Jam‘iyah neighborhood in western Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Reuters as saying that the bridge is still standing but heavily damaged. The puppet police reported that there had been no immediate information on casualties as a result of the Resistance attack.
US admits six more of its troops killed in various parts of Iraq Tuesday, Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 9:59pm Baghdad time Friday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military admitted on Friday that six of its soldiers had been killed in various Iraqi Resistance attacks in the country.
The AMSI reported an American communique´ as saying that five of the US occupation soldiers were killed in battles and attacks involving the Iraqi Resistance on Thursday. The sixth US soldier was killed on Tuesday, but the American military only got around to admitting that death Friday.
The US statement said that two American troops were killed and a third wounded when an Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded in the course of combat in western Baghdad on Thursday. The Americans’ Iraqi translator was also killed in that engagement.
Another US soldier was killed when an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded near his vehicle in the northern city of al-Mawsil. Two other US troops were also wounded in the attack.
Iraqi Resistance fighters equipped with light arms ambushed a US detachment somewhere in Diyala Province, the secretive American statement said, referring to an attack that occurred on Thursday.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb that had been planted by the side of a road somewhere in Salah ad-Din Province killed one more American soldier and wounded a second, according the American statement, which indicated that the casualties were members of the 13th Force. The US communique´ said that the wounded man was rushed to a US military hospital in the city of Balad, about 85km north of Baghdad, but as usual offered no further details.
The sixth American death mentioned in Friday’s US communique´ was killed when an Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded near his vehicle on Tuesday. The blast killed him and wounded two more US soldiers, the American statement said.

Resistance group attacks Peshmergah position near Iranian border in northern Iraq before dawn Friday.
In a dispatch posted at 6:15pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a detachment of fighters linked to the Ansar al-Islam Resistance organization attacked a position of Kurdish-separatist pro-American Peshmergah militia near the Iranian border on Friday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Husayn Ahmad Husayn, the governor of the town of Bashdar (Peshdar), some 170km north of as-Syulaymaniyah, as saying that the Resistance group that calls itself the “Kurdistan Brigades in the al-Qa‘idah Organization” attacked a Peshmergah militia position in Bashdar at 2am local time. The attack sparked a battle in which one of the Peshmergah gunmen was wounded by the time that the Resistance fighters withdrew from the area.
On 10 May, an official of the US-backed puppet regime announced that the puppet “Peshmergah Ministry” in the American-sponsored “Iraqi Kurdistan” region had sent some 1,000 troops to reinforce the Peshmergah fighters in the area near the Iranian border in response to increased activity by the Resistance group Ansar al-Islam there. The Kurdistan Brigades of the al-Qa‘idah Organiztion, which is linked to the Ansar al-Islam, has been carrying out repeated attacks on the puppet forces in the area, Mafkarat al-Islam noted.
