Bomb kills 37 at funeral in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 1:50pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that medical sources and sources in the puppet security services report that 37 people were killed and more than 100 wounded when a mysterious car bomb exploded during a funeral in the city of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the funeral was for a local notable in the city and one of the leaders of the al-Anbar Awakening Congress, a tribal alliance that is opposed to al-Qa‘idah.
Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that a person wearing an explosive belt blew himself up near the funeral, causing the carnage. Witnesses said that blast took place near the al-Firdaws Mosque in the al-Ba‘th neighborhood during the funeral of Ahmad Zuwayd, the nephew of Shaykh ‘Abd ar-Razzaq al-‘Isawi, a leader of the al-Anbar Awakening Congress.

Shi‘i sectarian murder spree continues: 22 murder victims’ bodies found dumped in Baghdad Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 10:42pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the Iraqi puppet police recovered 22 bodies of unknown murder victims dumped in various parts of Baghdad on Thursday.
The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that most of the bodies were bound and blindfolded and had been shot in the head. The bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Department.
US admits two soldiers killed in al-Anbar Province Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 2:32pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military had admitted that two of its soldiers were killed in fighting with the Iraqi Resistance in al-Anbar Province on Wednesday. In keeping with the standard US policy of secrecy, no further details on the engagement were revealed.
US embassy motorcade attacked in ar-Rusafah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:32pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters equipped with light arms attacked a motorcade from the US Embassy and its security escort of US troops in the ar-Rusafah area of central Baghdad.
The AMSI reported a US communique´ as saying that the embassy guards returned fire and called in reinforcements and air support to beat back the Thursday morning attack. Apache helicopter gun ships arrived on the scene and attacked the armed men who were assaulting the Americans. The American statement said that the attack inflicted no casualties on the US forces or personnel.
Attack on bus and bomb in northern Baghdad Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 5:41pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet police as reporting that armed men stopped a minibus at a fake check point in a northern Baghdad neighborhood on Thursday and killed 11 people who were aboard it.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported the British news agency Reuters as saying that according to the puppet police the armed men then hid a bomb among the bodies of the dead victims on the bus and detonated it when puppet policemen arrived on the scene. Two people were killed and four more wounded − among them puppet policemen − in that attack.

Resistance bomb kills five puppet policemen in Samarra’ Wednesday night.
In a dispatch posted at 5:41pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol on the main road in Samarra’, 120km north of Baghdad, on Wednesday night.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the bomb killed five puppet policemen and destroyed their patrol vehicle. A number of neighboring buildings were also damaged.
The city of Samarra’ has been under curfew since last Tuesday, after a bomb exploded by a US military patrol there and after fighting broke out to the southeast of the city.
Tuz Khurmantu.
Puppet administrator wounded in bomb attack near Tuz Khurmatu.
In a dispatch posted at 1:50pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the motorcade of Talib al-Bayyati, the puppet administrator of the Sulayman Bayk area, just south of Tuz Khurmatu, which is about 175km north of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Colonel ‘Abbas Muhammad Amin, the puppet police chief in Tuz Khurmatu as saying that a bomb went off by al-Bayyati’s motorcade as it was taking him to work. The explosion killed six of his bodyguards and wounded four more of them. Al-Bayyati himself was also wounded in the attack.
Sulayman Bayk is a stronghold of the al-Bayyat Turcoman tribe, which is partly Sunni an partly Shi‘i. Puppet officials there come under frequent attack by the Resistance.

Al-Yusufiyah.
Resistance bomb disables US Humvee.
In a communique´ dated Wednesday, 23 May 2007 and posted on its website, the Iraqi Resistance organization the Army of the Rashideen announced that one of its units had detonated a bomb by a US Humvee in the area of al-Yusufiyah, 30km southwest of Baghdad. The communique´ said that the blast disabled the American vehicle.

Kirkuk.
Oil well blown up near Kirkuk; “several weeks” needed to put out fire.
In a dispatch posted at 1:50pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men blew up a major oil well located northwest of the northern city of Kirkuk at dawn Thursday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the US-backed “Oil of the North” company as saying that the regime was trying to get the oil well fire under control, but that putting it out could take “several weeks.” No casualties were reported as a result of the attack.
A source in the puppet “Oil Protection Forces” reported that the blast was the result of a bomb explosion. The source said that the attacking forces struck at dawn when the guard staff at the installation were sleeping.
