The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local sources as saying that the new US wave of arrests focused particularly on the youth as American soldiers with their police dogs stormed into houses in the neighborhoods of ash-Shurtah and ad-Dubbat and in the suburb of al-Haqlaniyah, breaking down doors and then stealing money and jewelry and terrorizing women and children.
The sources said that the American campaign against the local people began at dawn and that US troops still thronged the streets carrying out their attacks on houses and commercial shops.
Al-Fallujah.
Heavy fighting reported to the west of al-Fallujah Monday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 5:50pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting had been underway for two hours between US troops and Iraqi Resistance men in the area of Kartan al-Jazirah near the al-Abrar School in western al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of Kartan village said that more than 40 Resistance fighters attacked a US force at 2:30pm local time Monday afternoon as it was heading out on the highway to as-Saqlawiyah.
The witnesses said that the fighting was concentrated near the al-Abrar School and the home of Shaykh Fattah al-Kartani and also near the health center. The battle, at that hour, had left several American vehicles damaged and troops wounded. The puppet police reported that US helicopter gun ships had rocketed a number of positions in the area in an attempt to break up the combat.
The Americans had also closed the road leading to the area and intense fires could be seen blazing in the area − some people saying that they were the result of farm houses set on fire in the fighting, others saying that they were burning American military vehicles.

The puppet police source said that it appeared that the Americans were going to escalate their activity, carrying out arrests of young people in the city.
Sufi Shaykh murdered in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men assassinated a Sufi Shaykh in al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad. They also burned down his Takiyah, according to eyewitness reports.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the armed men arrived with their faces covered and attacked Shaykh Ahmad al-Qadiri, spraying him with a hail of bullets. They then poured gasoline inside the Sufi Takiyah center and set the furniture, books and building ablaze.
Eyewitnesses said that the attackers justified their murder by telling local residents on the scene that the Shaykh was deviating from and inhibiting what they regarded as pure Islam.
Baghdad.
Sunnis “don’t deserve hospital” − Shi‘i sectarian “Health Ministry” official declares as US, puppet Iraqi troops sweep out all patients from al-A‘zamiyah Hospital Monday morning. Eighty-two patients reported murdered by US-backed sectarian troops.
In a dispatch posted at 12:37pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that medical sources had announced that puppet Iraqi army forces backed up by US occupation troops stormed into the an-Nu‘man Hospital in the newly walled in al-A‘zamiyah district of northern Baghdad and drove all the patients out of the facility.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported Dr Ahmad Mahmud as telling al-Jazeera satellite TV that the US and puppet forces raided the hospital, posted snipers on the rooftop of the medical facility and atop neighboring buildings and proceeded to expel all the patients from the hospital.
Dr. Mahmud described the situation in the hospital as “miserable,” as the puppet Iraqi troops arrested 95 of the patients in the course of their raid. He said that they had received word that the puppet troops, most of whom are concurrently members of Shi‘i sectarian militias, had executed all but 13 of their sick captives, which latter were turned over to official bodies.
Dr. Mahmud said that only three patients in the intensive care unit were still in the building, the severity of their condition making it impossible to move them.
The doctor told al-Jazeera that the troops who stormed into the hospital declared that an order had been issued by the puppet “Minister of Health” − (a ministry long a bastion of supporters of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian cleric Muqtada as-Sadr) ordering the hospital in the Sunni district shut down. Meanwhile, the Inspector at the puppet “Ministry of Health” declared in a telephone conversation that the reason the hospital was being closed down was that the residents of the Sunni neighborhood “don’t deserve a hospital,” according to accounts of the conversation.
The shutdown of the hospital takes place as the American command is finishing work on a wall, isolating the al-A‘zamiyah district from the rest of the country, and putting its residents under tight security surveillance at all times.
Fighting breaks out in al-A‘zamiyah midday Monday following puppet regime closure of hospital.
In a dispatch posted at 8:18pm Baghdad time Monday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that violent fighting broke out between armed men and puppet regime security forces in al-A‘zamiyah over the closing down of an-Nu‘man Hospital.
The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that fierce fighting broke out near the al-A‘zamiyah Bridge at midday. The al-A‘zamiyah Bridge links the district of al-A‘zamiyah with the district of al-‘Atifiyah.
The armed men deployed in large numbers because of the puppet regime’s violent closure of the local hospital. The correspondent reported that the puppet regime troops executed five local youths and arrested more than 40 men from al-A‘zamiyah.
Bombs rock Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 2:30pm Makkah time 12:37Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that several explosions shook US-occupied Baghdad on Monday morning, killing or wounding dozens of people.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the puppet police as announcing that two car bombs went off in the neighborhoods of al-Jihad and al-Harithiyah of central and western Baghdad. The first car bomb exploded on an-Nusur Square in al-Harithiyah in central Baghdad, killing or wounding 21 people, including a number of puppet policemen.
The second car bomb went off one hour later by a puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” patrol in the al-Jihad neighborhood. That blast killed seven of the puppet “Shock Troops” and wounded nine civilians.
In another incident, a bomb exploded by a group of Iraqis in the southeastern Baghdad district of az-Za‘faraniyah, killing five people and wounding three more.
US admits Monday seven more American troops killed in Iraq in previous two days.
In a dispatch posted at 7:44am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military announced Monday that four American troops had been killed in the previous two days.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported Reuters as saying that the American communique´ announcing the US deaths, as usual concealed all details regarding the circumstances of the deaths.
Then, in a dispatch posted at 10:40am Baghdad time Monday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the American command had announced that three more of its soldiers were killed when an Iraqi Resistance bomb went off by their combat patrol in the eastern part of Baghdad on Sunday, 29 April. The American statement added that the Iraqi translator who was serving them was also killed in the attack.
Diyala Province.
Ba‘qubah.
Resistance bomb targets US patrol.
In a dispatch posted at 3:18pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the middle of Ba‘qubah Monday morning.
The AMSI reported a puppet security source in Ba‘qubah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the Nahr Khuraysan Road that runs through the middle of the city went off just after an American patrol passed the area. Two civilians who were in a car behind the US column were injured in the blast.
US forces are known to be equipped with electronic devices that jam detonation signals as the US vehicles pass through the streets. Immediately after the US vehicles pass, however, the bombs then explode.
Meanwhile, fierce fighting took place between armed men and US troops near the ar-Rafidayn Bank in Ba‘qubah. From time to time the sound of explosions and gunfire could be heard, the correspondent reported.
Iran seen behind systematic murder of Sunni religious leaders in Ba‘qubah, prompting departure of many Sunni Imams from the city.
In a dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that numerous Sunni Imams and religious leaders have been leaving Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad, following a campaign of murders of Sunni religious leaders by Shi‘i sectarian gunmen in the city.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in the last few days a number of Sunni scholars and Imams have been murdered in a wave of killings that local people blame on pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian groups.
Dr. Muhammad al-Bayyati of the Sunni Waqf (pious endowments) in the city said that seven Sunni preachers had been systematically murdered just in the past few days, prompting the departure of many of the surviving Sunni leaders, some of those out of the country. Dr. al-Bayyati said that last Friday most Sunni mosques had no one to lead the prayers.
Residents also note that the US-installed “government” of Nuri al-Maliki had prohibited Imams from making any calls for support for the Iraqi Resistance in their Friday sermons on penalty of seven years’ imprisonment for “terrorist activities.”
Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.
Leader of Yazidi sect offers apology, pledging cooperation with US-installed puppet regime.
In a dispatch posted at 5:58pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the leader of the Yazidi community in Iraq officially apologized to Muslims for the killing of Du‘a’ Khalil, a girl of Yazidi background who embraced Islam and then was kidnapped and killed by her family in the town of Ba‘shiqah some three weeks ago.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Sayrawan Numa, the leader of the Yazidi community took part in demonstrations by Yazidis in northern Iraq in order to apologize to the Muslims for the killing of Du‘a’. Numa told the demonstrators: “we condemn that crime and apologized to all the Muslims of the world for the killing of Du‘a’ in that barbaric manner. The Muslims must try to understand that we apologize and are sorry about her killing and although Du‘a’ was our daughter, after she embraced Islam, she became a daughter of the Muslims and what happened was a crime and we are in agreement with the [puppet] government regarding retribution for all those who took part in stoning her.”
Numa went on to say: “I call on the supreme Islamic religious leaders to intervene to prevent a campaign of annihilation from being waged against the Yazidis after the incident.”
A mass demonstration of more than a thousand Yazidis marched before the puppet police headquarters and the headquarters of the pro-American “Kurdistan Democratic Party” demanding retribution against the Yazidi youths who took part in the crime and at the same time called for protection for the rest of the community.
The head of the Yazidi community attempted to enter a number of mosques in al-Mawsil to present his apology but Sunni religious leaders in the city drove him out, raising concerns of further revenge attacks against the Yazidi community, whose apology seemed more directed at reaffirming cooperative ties with the US-installed puppet regime and the pro-American Kurdish separatist groups, than with addressing the Muslim community at large.
On Thursday, 26 April, a religious leader of the Yazidi sect in Iraq, Asil Malkani, appealed to the US occupation forces, calling for them to set up a base in the midst of their community in Ba‘shiqah.

Al-Hayyaniyah is regarded as the main stronghold of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian cleric Muqtada as-Sadr and his forces in al-Basrah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported puppet police sources as saying that after the blast puppet police and Shi‘i sectarian militias rounded up for Sunni Iraqis, including the muezzin of the new al-Asma‘i Mosque and three others from the al-Jam‘iyat section of the city, a district opposite al-Hayyaniyah in the western part of al-Basrah.
There were unconfirmed reports that the Sunni prisoners had been killed by the pro-Iranian sectarian militiamen.
The incidents took place against a backdrop of increased tension between the Muqtada as-Sadr forces and those of the local puppet governor, a member of another Shi‘i sectarian party the Virtue (Faidilah) Party. Ever since the Fadilah Party announced its withdrawal from the main Shi‘i coalition − the so-called United Iraqi Alliance − on 7 March this year, the forces of Muqtada as-Sadr and the Badr Brigades of the so-called “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) have been carrying out attacks and exerting pressure to try to topple the local governor and replace him with a man loyal to their orientations.
