US announces start of offensive against al-Qa‘idah in arRamadi.
In a dispatch posted at 4:41pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported the US occupation forces as announcing that their troops had begun a “large operation” against al-Qa‘idah in the city of ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the announcement came a day after major fighting between the Iraqi Resistance on one side, and puppet police backed up by tribal fighters and US forces on the other.

Puppet regime alleges capture of al-Qa‘idah cadres.
In a dispatch posted on Monday, Quds Press reported a puppet Iraqi regime spokesman as saying that the American occupation troops had captured three top al-Qa‘idah operatives in the country, including the organization’s commander in the Abu Ghurayb area.
Brigadier General Qasim al-Musawi, the official spokesman for the American imposed “New Baghdad Security Plan,” now in its second month of implementation, told a press conference that forces of the 3rd Brigade of the puppet army raided the Abu Ghurayb area and arrested the Amir (commander) Ahmad Farhan, the al-Qa‘idah chief in the area, together with two of his aides on 20 March.
Al-Musawi played a film a the news conference purportedly showing Farhan confessing to having ties with “Abu ‘Umar al-Baghdadi” the head of al-Qa‘idah in the Land of the Two Rivers. On the tape, the man said to be Farhan declared that he had received support from Syria and Jordan and said that he oversaw four Resistance groups, each with a commander (Amir) and 25 men.
According to al-Musawi, Farhan also admitted being directly responsible for 300 Resistance killings and 200 abductions and expulsions.
Al-Musawi also told the press conference that puppet army troops had found 430 anti-tank mines had been found in one house in the Jamilah district in the so-called “Madinat as-Sadr” district, a stronghold of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian cleric Muqtada as-Sadr

Resistance rocket slams into “Green Zone” Monday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 6:52pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance rocket blasted into the top-security area around the Republican Palace in downtown Baghdad − the district dubbed the “Green Zone” by US troops, setting off a thunderous explosion that shook the US embassy.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a US embassy spokesman as saying that that according to preliminary information the explosion came from a rocket. The American official refused to name precisely in what area where the rocket came down, saying that this was not possible for “security reasons.” He did confirm, however, that the rocket landed in the “Green Zone” where the headquarters of the puppet Nuri al-Maliki regime, and the embassies of the US and Britain are located.
The American spokesman said that the blast caused no casualties and no significant material damage.
The attack took place hours after US Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad told reporters that he was “cautiously optimistic” abut the future of occupied Iraq.
Just last week another rocket slammed into the “Green Zone” during a press conference attended by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Iraqi puppet “Prime Minister” al-Maliki.

In a dispatch posted at 2:27pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported informed Palestinian sources in occupied Iraq as saying that two Palestinian refugees living in Iraq had been tortured to death in the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” prisons.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported tie Palestinian Information Center as saying that Palestinians who were among a group of 12 who were locked up in a puppet “Interior Ministry” prison reported that the two were killed when they were being tortured in an attempt to extract “confessions” that they were responsible of attacks on the US and its local puppet allies.
The source indicated that seven Palestinian refugees, detained in the puppet “Interior Ministry’s” prisons since the massacres in the al-Baladiyat neighborhood of Baghdad two weeks ago, are expected to be released on Monday.
Meanwhile the emptying out of apartments and homes formerly belonging to Palestinian refugees has increased as sectarian attacks have driven thousands of Palestinians as well as Iraqis out of their homes, particularly those located in largely-Shi‘i neighborhoods. Currently, dozens of Palestinians vacate their homes in Baghdad to head for the border every day as fears increase over sectarian kidnappings, torture and murder under the “New Security Plan” for the capital imposed by the US and the puppet Iraqi regime.
Palestinian sources said that the puppet “Interior Ministry” − known to be dominated by Shi‘i sectarian militia death squads − launched a major campaign of raids, searches, and mass arrests targeted on Palestinians in Baghdad in the last two days. A group of four large buses hauled about 200 Palestinian refugees out of Baghdad, dumping them at the al-Walid tent camp near the Iraqi border with Syria.
The spokesman for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees disclosed on Sunday that efforts were afoot to deport the Palestinian refugees in Iraq to Yemen as attacks and repression by the Shi ‘ sectarian militias act to drive Palestinians out of their homes.
An estimated 20,000 Palestinian refugees still live in Iraq. Many have been in the country since the Zionist invasion and occupation of Palestine in 1948.

Death of five American troops admitted by US command Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 4:41pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US occupation forces announced Sunday that five American troops had been killed, four of them in a single attack.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Americans issued a communique´, saying that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in Diyala Province on Sunday, killing four US special force soldiers.
A separate American announcement said that a bomb planted by the side of some road exploded by US troops, killing one American soldier and wounding two more of them.
As is typical of the secretive practices of the US military, neither communique´ provided specific information on the exact location of the attacks.

In a dispatch posted on Monday, Quds Press reported that the US-installed puppet government in Baghdad had announced that when Iran captured a number of British military personnel on the Shatt al-‘Arab waterway, they were in Iraqi waters.
The puppet “Iraqi Foreign Ministry” issued a statement Monday, saying that the puppet “Foreign Minister” Hushyar Zibari had contacted the Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Muttaqi on Sunday and discussed the matter of the captured British personnel with him.
Zibari told Muttaqi that as far as the puppet Iraqi regime was aware the Britons were captured in Iraqi waters, and called on Iran to release deal with the matter with wisdom.
