Al-Fallujah.
Resistance truck bomb blasts puppet Iraqi army headquarters in al-Fallujah on Sunday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 8:30pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at 9am Sunday morning, an Iraqi Resistance truck bomb exploded by a building that the puppet Iraqi army has turned into a headquarters for itself in al-Fallujah.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported shopkeepers in the Industrial Zone where the attack occurred as saying that the as-Salam Hotel, which the puppet army has turned into one of its headquarters, was the target of a truck bombing Sunday morning. An explosives-laden truck parked by the side of as-Sadd Street, where the hotel is located, blew up. The explosion killed at least five puppet troops and wounded still more of them.
The puppet army troops responded to the blast by opening fire indiscriminately at the homes of residents located in the vicinity for a full 15 minutes, wounding several local residents in the area.
The correspondent reported that the blast was particularly large, creating a ball of black smoke, setting the hotel building on fire, and destroying a large part of it.
‘Anah.
Resistance bomb disables US Humvee in ‘Anah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:11pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of US troops accompanied by their puppet “Iraqi National Guard” allies near a command post overlooking the fuels station on the road into ‘Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the explosion severely damaged and disabled an American Humvee. The witnesses thought it probable that there were casualties among the US troops, given the extent of damage to the vehicle, but had no precise information.
Ar-Ramadi.
Five US troops reported killed in Resistance ambush of US column in ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 4:23pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column in the al-Hawz area of ar-Ramadi, damaging a Bradley armored vehicle and setting a fire burning in its fore section.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Hawz who witnessed the attack from their rooftops as saying that after the bomb went off, Resistance men attacked the column firing a shoulder-launched rocket into middle of the vehicle, completely destroying it.
Many of the witnesses said that five or six American troops were killed in the attack, though eyewitness accounts differed as to specifics.
Afterwards, US troops carried out a campaign of raids and searches, arresting four youths in one house on the pretext that rocket fired at the Bradley had been launched next to the house wall.
Resistance bomb targets US patrol in ar-Ramadi Saturday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 12:02pm Makkah time midday Sunday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Mal‘ab area of eastern ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad, on Saturday afternoon.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the neighborhood as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in al-Mal‘ab went off by a US patrol, disabling a US troop transport and wounding several American soldiers who were aboard it. The witnesses said that US forces hurried to close off the area completely and brought in reinforcements in several Humvees to transport the wounded and also those who had not been wounded.

Tape recording from 2003 indicateds Shi‘i religious leader Ayatallah ‘Ali as-Sistani issued fatwa ordering Shi‘ah not to resist or obstruct US invasion of Iraq.
In a dispatch posted at 9:24pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a tape recording has been circulating in Iraq for several days proving that Iranian-born Shi‘i sectarian religious authority ‘Ali as-Sistani called on Shi‘ah not to resist the American invasion of their country.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the tape is a recording of a talk given by the Shi‘i cleric ‘Abd al-Majid al-Khaw’i − who was killed just days after the American occupation of Iraq − in which he affirmed that Ayatallah ‘Ali as-Sistani had issued a fatwa (religious legal ruling) commanding Shi‘ah not to resist the American invasion.
On the tape, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam, al-Khaw’i said that during the battle between invading American troops and the Iraqi Army under the leadership of President Saddam Husayn, as-Sistani issued a fatwa telling Shi‘ah to stay home and not to resist the Americans or to obstruct their activity.
Al-Khaw’i also assures his listeners on the tape that the Shi ‘ religious clerics were all safe and unharmed.
The correspondent reported that the tape, now circulating in Baghdad, was obtained from an Arab satellite TV company that had been operating in Iraq in 2003 during the period when the American forces were nearing the city of Baghdad.
Al-Khaw’i was stabbed to death in an-Najaf just days after the American occupation of Iraq and shortly after he returned to the country under US protection. Suspicions have been expressed that the Muqtada as-Sadr Shi‘i sectarian movement might have had a hand in the killing.
Resistance bomb wounds puppet “Iraqi National Guards” in Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah district Sunday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 2:11pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet “Iraqi National Guards” in the western al-Ghazaliyah section of Baghdad on Sunday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb went off by a patrol on the international highway that links Baghdad with points west. They said that the blast severely damaged a Humvee. Puppet “Guards” were seen pulling three of their wounded comrades out of the vehicle. Afterwards puppet forces closed off the entire area.
Resistance barrage targets US-occupied base in northern Baghdad suburb Sunday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 1:28pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that on Sunday morning, the Iraqi Resistance fired a rocket barrage at the US base set up in a former Iraqi Army facility in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the residential complex in at-Taji as saying that the barrage sent plumes of smoke and dust rising over the facility.
Car bomb kills puppet policeman in Baghdad Sunday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 10:58am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in eastern Baghdad on Sunday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an explosives-laden car that had been parked by the side of a road near the al-Mustansiriyah University blew up as a puppet police patrol drove by. The explosion damaged a patrol car and killed one puppet policeman. Two civilians who were in the area were also injured. Immediately afterwards, puppet security forces closed off the area and transported the injured people to hospital.

Resistance mortars blast US base north of Baghdad at dawn Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 1:28pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired at least 10 mortar rounds, beginning with 82mm shells, into the US-occupied al-Bakr Air Base in Yathrib, 70km north of Baghdad, at dawn on Sunday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the barrage sent plumes of smoke and dust rising over various parts of the base, as sirens wailed inside. The US forces have dubbed al-Bakr Airbase “Camp Anaconda.”

Mortar shell kills little girl, mother southeast of Baghdad Sunday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 6:15pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that rockets landed in the ad-Dar‘iyah area to the south of al-Mada’in − which is about 25km southeast of Baghdad on Sunday morning.
The al-Mada’in correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the Salman Bak area as saying that a number of shells blasted into civilian houses in the area, killing a four-year-old girl and her mother and wounding four other people. The witnesses said that the shell landed on the room where the little girl and her mother were sleeping Sunday morning.

Resistance bombards US headquarters in al-Hillah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:19am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance fired two 82mm mortar rounds into the US military headquarters in the as-Sawb as-Saghir area in al-Hillah, about 60km south of Baghdad on Saturday-Sunday night.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the first shell landed inside the headquarters, while the second struck the fortifications surrounding the facility.
Later, Mafkarat al-Islam reported, a bomb exploded near the Hammurabi Fuel Station opposite the Marjan Hospital for Diseases of the Chest in the city of al-Hillah, about 60km south of Baghdad on Sunday morning, injuring a civilian.

US soldier reported killed by Resistance sharpshooter in al-Mawsil.
In a dispatch posted at 1:28pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the northern city of al-Mawsil on Sunday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a US foot patrol was moving through the area of central al-Mawsil, when one of the troops took a direct shot in the head, killing him instantly, to the shock of his companions who raced back to their military vehicles and left the area.
