US lifts curfew in Hit after four days.
In a dispatch posted at 7:08pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces ended the blockade they had imposed on the city of Hit, about 165km northwest of Baghdad on Friday, 16 February.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local residents as saying that the occupation troops went through the streets announcing the end of the curfew and allowing people to go out of their houses on foot. They promised that the ban on motor vehicles would be lifted soon.
During the time of the curfew, the Americans carried out raids and searches of houses in which they ransacked people’s homes and arrested at least nine local residents in the al-Jam‘iyah and al-‘Ummal neighborhoods of the east and central parts of the city.

Resistance bomb reportedly kills four US Marines on patrol in ‘Anah Tuesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 6:20pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb went off a foot patrol of US Marines in the ash-Shishan neighborhood of ‘Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad, at 11:15am local time Tuesday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast killed four US Marines and wounded three more of them, one of those severely. A witness who owns a shop in the area where the explosion took place said that the blast scattered body parts of the Marines over an area of several meters. US forces surrounded the zone for several hours, recovering the remains and taking them away to the US base in the city. The area is a frequent scene of attacks on US forces.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance blasts US as-Simak base in al-Fallujah with mortars.
In a dispatch posted at 5:38pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance forces fired two 82mm mortar rounds into the US base in the middle of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source who asked to remain anonymous as saying that the headquarters known as as-Simak took direct hits from the two mortar shells, that sent plumes of smoke rising into the sky.
Resistance fighters ambush joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol in al-Fallujah Tuesday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 4:44pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a fierce gun battle had been fought between Resistance men an US troops together with puppet Iraqi forces in the middle of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance men suddenly attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet “National Guard” patrol near the car show rooms on 40 Street where there is a checkpoint. Resistance fighters fired RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenades and light arms from the direction of the al-Hadrah al-Muhammadiyah Mosque at the patrol. The attack damaged a puppet “National Guard” Humvee, wounding the troops aboard it. The battle went on for about 10 minutes after which the Resistance fighters slipped away from the area.
Resistance bomb destroys Humvee near al-Fallujah Tuesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 12:36pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in al-Karmah, 15km northeast of al-Fallujah on Tuesday morning.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Karmah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road in the area went off by US forces, destroying a Humvee and killing or wounding the American troops aboard. The survivors responded to the blast by shooting randomly around the area and then closed off the scene.
Baghdad.
Resistance mortar barrage partially destroys puppet police station.
In a dispatch posted at 4:11pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired more than nine mortar rounds into the puppet police station in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of Baghdad.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that large parts of the station were destroyed in the barrage, from which white smoke was rising at the time of reporting. The Islamic Army resistance group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Bodies of 20 Sunni torture victims found dumped around Baghdad Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 2:26pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet police discovered the bodies of 20 Sunnis who had been severely tortured to death and then dumped in various parts of Baghdad on Tuesday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a doctor at al-Yarmuk Hospital as saying that his institution receive 20 bodies ranging from young people to elderly men, all of them Sunnis and all of them victims of savage torture.
The doctor, who declined to be identified, said that some had been suffocated by having gum stuffed up their nostrils and down their throats so that they would die slowly. Four of the bodies, all found in one place, had their heads bashed in with roofing hammers. Five of the bodies were completely bound. The veins in their hands had been cut and they were left to bleed slowly to death. One Sunni Shaykh was found with a liquor bottle forced up his anus. His tongue, four of his fingers, and his nose were also cut off.
The doctor said that all the victims were Sunni. In addition to the religious leader, there were students, government employees, and regular mosque attendees among them.
Resistance car bomb rips through fuel station controlled by Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, one day after sectarian kidnapping.
In a dispatch posted at 1:48pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a car bomb exploded near a fuel station in Baghdad controlled by the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia Tuesday morning.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses who were on the scene a the time as saying that an Opel car that had been parked opposite the station went off when there were no lines at the gas pumps. The blast killed or wounded 14 people, all of them members of the Jaysh al-Mahdi sectarian militia.
The attack came one day after four Sunnis who had tried to fill up their car were kidnapped together with their car by the sectarian gunmen at the station.
Puppet regime sectarian security forces take over medical center in Sunni area, rob it of equipment.
In a dispatch posted at 11:49am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that puppet Iraqi security forces surrounded the only health center in a predominantly Sunni area of southwestern Baghdad on Monday night.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the third district of the al-‘Amil neighborhood as saying that puppet “Order Protection Police,” which are controlled by Shi‘i sectarian militias, surrounded the medical center and then robbed it of all its equipment. Witnesses said that now that the puppet security forces have taken over the center, the locals are without any place to turn for medical care since the Shi‘i sectarian militias who run death squads that target Sunnis are more of a threat than lack of medical care.

Resistance bomb northeast of Tikrit targets puppet army troops.
In a dispatch posted at 1:26pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet army troops in Tirkit, about 180km north of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the al-‘Alam district to the northeast of Tikrit as saying that a bomb planted by the side of a road in the area went off by a patrol of the 4th Division of the puppet troops, wounding four of them and heavily damaging a Humvee in which they were riding.

In a dispatch posted at 1:07pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb went off in Tikrit on Tuesday morning killing and wounding several local civilian residents.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb had been planted near a fuel station in the city and that it killed four local people and wounded still more, some of them severely. The victims were immediately taken to hospital.
Ad-Dulu‘iyah.
US forces conduct raids, arrests in ad-Dulu‘iyah Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 1:15pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that raided homes in several neighborhoods of ad-Dulu‘iyah, about 90km north of Baghdad on Tuesday morning.
The ad-Dulu‘iyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Americans carried out meticulous searches of several houses and arrested a number of men and youths in the neighborhoods. The raids came in the wake of a bomb attack that targeted a commander of the puppet “National Guard” in the city on Monday.

US troops raid hospital in Bayji taking away only doctors there. Hospital shuts down in protest.
In a dispatch posted at 1:17pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces stormed into Bayji General Hospital in the town of Bayji, 200km north of Baghdad on Tuesday morning and arrested two doctors who were inside at the time.
The Bayji correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the hospital as saying that the Americans carried out a savage raid on the hospital Tuesday morning and arrested two doctors, whom they took away to an unknown destination. The source said that the two were the only two doctors in the hospital, which was then left without any physicians at all.
What remained were the medical support staff. Because of that situation, the administrators and staff resolved to close down the hospital in protest against the arrest of the doctors and as a demand that they be set free.

Buhriz.
US forces arrest 132 residents of Sunni villages around Buhriz early Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 5:39pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US and Iraqi puppet forces carried out a campaign of raids and arrests in a number of Sunni villages near Buhriz, about 60km northeast of Baghdad in Diyala Province, starting at dawn on Tuesday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the Americans arrested 132 local residents, ranging in age from 17 to 60 years. The arrests took place in the villages of ad-Dawwasir, al-Bayyat and in other areas, including the neighborhoods of al-‘Askari, Saddam, and al-Mu‘allimin in the area of Buhriz. The Americans used dogs and percussion grenades, terrorizing women and children as they blew open their doors early in the morning.
Ba‘qubah.
Resistance bomb leaves four US troops reported dead near Ba‘qubah Tuesday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 5:26pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US force in the al-Jabinat area north of Ba‘qubah, which is about 65km northeast of Baghdad.
The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bomb went off by a US Humvee in the al-Wathbah area of al-Jabinat and that four US troops were killed in the explosion, which also destroyed their vehicle. The attack took place in the context of intermittent clashes between US and Iraqi Resistance forces that were going on in the area at the time.
Al-‘Azim.
Trucks hauling fuel to Baghdad attacked, destroyed.
In a dispatch posted at 5:22pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that three fuel tankers on the road from Kirkuk to Baghdad came under fire in the area of al-‘Azim, 107km north of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a witness who belonged to the puppet “Oil Products Protection Police” as saying that three loaded fuel trucks carrying benzene, gas, and kerosene on their way to Baghdad were attacked by armed men, destroying them and killing the three drivers. The witness, who asked not to be identified, said that the attack took place near the village of at-Tal‘ah, 5km south of al-‘Azim.

Al-Mahmudiyah.
Resistance car bomb targets Shi‘i sectarian militiamen in al-Mahmudiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:26pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance car bomb went off near a group of pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian gunmen near ‘Ulwat ar-Rashid on the road from Baghdad to al-Hillah.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local sources in al-Mahmudiyah as saying that the car went off by the militiamen who had arrived in the area Monday night backed up by puppet regime troops. By preliminary count, 21 of the gunmen were killed or wounded in the blast.
US and puppet regime troops were surrounding the area at the time the correspondent was reporting the attack and ambulances were evacuating the dead and wounded from the scene.
Al-Latifiyah.
Resistance bomb takes out truck in American convoy Monday night.
In a dispatch posted at 12:55pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US supply convoy in al-Latifiyah, 30km south of Baghdad, on Monday night.
The al-Latifiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the main al-Latifiyah road as saying that a bomb that had been planted nearby went off by a US convoy loaded with provisions and equipment for the Americans. The witnesses said that the blast disabled one truck with an intense explosion that they believed probably inflicted casualties.

Bomb targets puppet troops near al-Huwayjah.
In a dispatch posted at 5:45pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet troops in at-Tariqiyahe southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses from the village of al-Khazifiyah as saying that the blast killed two of the Iraqi puppet soldiers and wounded two more of them.
Meanwhile puppet forces then carried out a campaign of raids and arrests in the villages of at-Tariqiyah, al-Khazifiyah, ‘Atshanah, Abu Sakhrah, al-Hankah, al-Hamdaniyah, and at-Tamimiyah, near al-Huwayjah, 70km southwest of Kirkuk, arresting 14 people.
Resistance bombards US base in al-Huwayjah Tuesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 12:08pm Makkah time midday Tuesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired five 82mm mortar rounds into the headquarters of US forces in al-Huwayjah, southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq on Tuesday morning.
The Kirkuk correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Huwayjah as saying that the shells scored direct hits on the facility, setting off thunderous explosions and setting fires and sending plumes of smoke into the sky.

Curfew imposed on ash-Shaykhan are of al-Mawsil following sectarian violence between Muslims and Yazidis.
In a dispatch posted at 4:33pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a curfew was imposed on he ash-Shaykhan area of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq starting Tuesday morning.
The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the district as saying that the curfew was declared until Wednesday morning by the puppet police. The measure was in response to the burning by some youths of a number of houses in the area which is inhabited by members of the Yazidi religious group. It had been reported that certain Yazidis had kidnapped a Muslim girl and the attacks on the Yazidi homes was an act of sectarian revenge. The home of the chief of the Yazidis, Tahsin Bek, was among those torched.

Rockets target British headquarters in al-Basrah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:01am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the sound of violent barrages targeted on British bases in the southern city of al-Basrah on Monday-Tuesday night reverberated around the city. Swarms of military aircraft also prowled the skies above the facilities.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the British issued a statement saying that the Shatt al-‘Arab hotel, where the British have a headquarters was targeted by rockets twice. The British at-Tawisah camp in the middle of the city was likewise attacked.
The British also reported arresting five people in the at-Tawisah area on charges that they were carrying out armed attacks on British facilities. There were also unconfirmed reports that British aircraft struck targets in the al-Ba‘th neighborhood in northwestern al-Basrah. Local residents witnessed the attacks but the British statement made no mention of the air strikes.
