Resistance fighters ambush US troops in al-Qa’im near Syrian border, reportedly killing two Monday morning.

US-backed courts change sentence on Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan from life to death.

Puppet police chief in ad-Dulu‘iyah suffers fatal injuries when his car collides with US armored vehicle Monday evening.

Iraqi Resistance, in control of Buhriz since December 2006, drives back US offensive Monday.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Rocket, possibly malfunctioning, kills family of four in al-Habbaniyah Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 8:28pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a rocket fired by unknown forces blasted into houses in the al-Habbaniyah area, about 90km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet “Civil Defense Forces” in al-Habbaniyah as saying that an unknown rocket landed in a house in the as-Sisi civilian neighborhood near the former al-Habbaniyah base, killing a man and his wife and two of their children. The source said that the rocket might have been targeted on the US base nearby but went astray.

Al-Qa’im.

Resistance fighters ambush US troops near Syrian border, reportedly killing two Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:48am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters carried out a surprise attack on a US foot patrol in the Sa‘dah area near al-Qa’im in western Iraq near the Syrian border on Monday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the patrol was walking through the Sa‘dah area when suddenly Resistance men wearing machine gun belts jumped out at them and attacked before the Americans had a chance to respond. The witnesses indicated that the attack lasted for about 10 minutes and that two US troops were killed and four or five more were wounded, some of them severely.

‘Anah.

Resistance bomb disables US vehicle in ‘Anah Sunday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 11:13am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the city of ‘Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad on Sunday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ‘Anah as saying that a bomb panted by the side of the road near the First Market in the middle of the city blew up by a US patrol, completely disabling a US vehicle and killing or wounding all the troops aboard it. US reinforcements arrived on the scene immediately after the blast and closed off the entire area.

Baghdad.

US-backed courts change sentence on Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan from life to death.

In a dispatch posted at 5:39pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that encouraged by US and Iranian enthusiasm about killing Iraqi leaders, the American-installed puppet regime reversed its sentence on Iraqi Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan, changing to death the life imprisonment sentence it had given him at his show “trial” with President Saddam Husayn.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a Baghdad “court” had reversed itself and changed its verdict from life in prison to death. Member of the defense team Muhammad Munib, a lawyer from Egypt, noted that the change was contrary to all international precedent according to which sentences are reduced, not made harsher.

Bombs ravage predominantly Shi‘i district of Baghdad Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 5:13pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two car bombs exploded in the predominantly Shi‘i ash-Shurjah area of Baghdad killing 45 and wounding more than 138 by preliminary count on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet policeman as saying that one car bomb went off by a car park and then about three minutes later a second car bomb that had been parked on a nearby street exploded. Ambulances raced to the area and took dead and wounded off to the al-Kindi and Ibn an-Nafis hospitals.

In a dispatch posted at 5:17pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that 11 Iraqis were killed and 22 more of them wounded in a third bombing in the Haraj Market in the Bab ash-Shurji.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Bab ash-Shurji area is located in the middle of al-Bab ash-Sharqi and is frequently patrolled by puppet Iraqi “National Guards” and police.

Resistance ambush in Baghdad leaves five Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen dead Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:41am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces armed with light and medium machine guns attacked concentrations of pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen in the al-Mawsilat in southwestern Baghdad on Monday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the fighting lasted for 15 minutes and left five Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen dead and more than seven wounded. The Resistance fighters withdrew successfully from the area before Iraqi puppet troops arrived on the scene to help the sectarian militiamen.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Ad-Dulu‘iyah.

Puppet police chief in ad-Dulu‘iyah suffers fatal injuries when his car collides with US armored vehicle Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 9:08pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier the puppet police chief in the ad-Dulu‘iyah area was fatally injured when his car collided with a US armored vehicle.

The Samarra’ correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Colonel Hammad Mut‘ib, the chief of the puppet police, was coming out of a side street when an American armored vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, causing the colonel to slam into it. The director of the city hospital described the injuries suffered by the puppet police chief as “fatal.”

Diyala Province.

Buhriz.

Iraqi Resistance, in control of Buhriz since December 2006, drives back US offensive Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 8:03pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting broke out between Resistance fighters and US troops together with their puppet Iraqi army allies on the outskirts of the town of Buhriz, about 60km northeast of Baghdad on Monday morning. The battle erupted whtn US forces tried to re-occupy the town, which has been under the control of the Iraqi Resistance since December 2006.

The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces fought a short battle in the triangle area on the southern outskirts of Buhriz. One US vehicle was destroyed and a second damaged in that engagement after which the Americans were forced to withdraw five kilometers.

Southeast of the city, US tanks failed to continue their advance into the city because mine fields planted by the Iraqi Resistance just days earlier forced the Americans to come to a halt.

Forced back on two fronts, the Americans and their puppet Iraqi allies laid down a blockade around Buhriz 10km outside of town. Out in that area, the US forces and their allies proceeded to arrest all the members of the al-Jabbur tribe.

Meanwhile US forces in nearby Salah ad-Din Province shut off all electricity and water supply and communications links with Buhriz after failing to storm into the city Monday.

The correspondent added that during the months since the Iraqi Resistance took over Buhriz, local people have grown accustomed to taking their disputes to the Resistance for adjudication. Disputes regarding irrigation water or family disputes, marital disputes and divorce have all been resolved by the Iraqi Resistance courts, not by the legal system of the puppet regime since the Resistance took control of Buhriz in December.

Balad Ruz.

Puppet police administrator for Balad Ruz survives assassination attempt Sunday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 10:55am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the motorcade of Colonel Faris al-‘Umayri, the puppet police administrator for Balad Ruz, about 65km northeast of Baghdad on Sunday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a bomb planted by the side of the road blew up by the puppet police official’s motorcade, damaging one of the cars in the procession and wounding two bodyguards. The colonel himself reportedly escaped unscathed.

Babil Province.

Al-Yusufiyah.

Resistance bomb destroys puppet police vehicle in al-Yusufiyah Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:49am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in al-Yusufiyah, 30km southwest of Baghdad at 10am local time Monday morning.

The al-Yusufiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet security forces as saying that a bomb that had been planted in the northern part of the city completely destroyed a patrol vehicle. The source refused to say anything about the fate of the troops aboard it, but witnesses said that all were killed.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Al-Huwayjah.

Resistance bomb kills puppet army soldier in al-Huwayjah Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 5:53pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet army patrol in al-Huwayjah Monday morning.

The Kirkuk correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Huwayjah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road went off by a patrol of the 2nd Brigade of the puppet army, destroying a Humvee and killing one soldier and wounding three more of them.

Afterwards the puppet army closed the main road, evacuated the casualties and hauled the wreckage away.

Meanwhile Resistance fighters attacked the home of a commander in the puppet army with medium weapons and hand grenades. No further details on the fate of the officer or his precise rank were available, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

Resistance bomb destroys puppet “National Guard” patrol vehicle in al-Huwayjah Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:49am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet Iraqi “National Guards” in al-Huwayjah, southwest of Kirkuk.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that witnesses in the al-‘Abbasi area of al-Huwayjah as saying that a bomb planted near the Shamit Bridge blew up by puppet “National Guards” at 9am local time Monday, destroying a Nissan pickup patrol truck, killing or wounding all aboard.
