Resistance forces ambush US column as it enters eastern al-Fallujah early Thursday afternoon.

Resistance battles US troops in ad-Dulu‘iyah Wednesday.

Resistance blasts US consulate in al-Hillah with mortar barrage Thursday morning.

Resistance bombards US military camp in al-Haqlaniyah Wednesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired two 82mm mortar rounds into the US military headquarters in al-Haqlaniyah a town located near the city of al-Hadithah, about 236km northwest of Baghdad at about 10pm local time Wednesday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local residents as saying that they had seen the two mortar rounds blast into the US-occupied facility, setting off a thunderous explosion that echoed throughout all of al-Haqlaniyah. Tongues of flame could be seen as fire raged inside the American compound after the attack but no information on the nature or extent of casualties or damage was available

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance forces ambush US column as it enters eastern al-Fallujah early Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 2:04pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance men fought a short battle with US occupation troops in al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported shopkeepers of industrial workshops on the main street in the middle of the city as saying that Resistance men armed with light and medium weapons appeared in the Industrial Zone and engaged a US military column that was entering the city from the east. Fighting raged for more than 10 minutes.

At the time of reporting no information on the nature or extent of casualties was known, because American troops responded with heavy gunfire at the Resistance attackers, also targeting the industrial workshops that surrounded the area where the attack took place. They then sealed off the area for more than an hour, after which they withdrew.

US troops arrest more than 12 local residents in dawn raids in al-Karmah near al-Fallujah Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:58pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces carried out a campaign of searches and arrests in al-Karmah, 7km east of al-Fallujah (which is located about 60km west of Baghdad) at dawn on Thursday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a resident of the ar-Rawfah area as saying that the US forces came into their area at dawn under cover from helicopter gun ships and arrested more than 12 local people on charges that they have been involved in Resistance activities.

The witness said that the troops ransacked several homes, wrecking furniture and glass objects. The correspondent noted, however, that the city remains in general in the hands of Iraqi Resistance forces, though US troops carry out raids from time to time.

Ar-Ramadi.

US forces arrest more than 20 local residents in raids in ar-Ramadi early Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:30pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces carried out mass arrests in the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad at dawn on Thursday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the ath-Thilah area of eastern ar-Ramadi as saying that US forces in 20 Humvees under air cover from helicopter gun ships raided the ath-Thilah area and arrested more than 20 local residents. The Americans put bags over their heads and drove them away in armored vehicles to an unknown destination.

Baghdad.

US forces seal off Baghdad’s al-A‘zamiyah district early Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:19pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops together with their Iraqi puppet army allies surrounded the predominantly Sunni Baghdad district of al-A‘zamiyah early on Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses in the district as saying that the joint force surrounded the district early Thursday. Vehicles equipped with loudspeakers cruised up and down the streets ordering local residents to stay indoors so that the American troops and their Iraqi puppet allies could carry out a mission. The district was completely sealed off from the outside world.

Ad-Dulu‘iyah.

Resistance battles US troops in ad-Dulu‘iyah Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:02pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a violent battle took place between Iraqi Resistance fighters and US occupation troops in the middle of ad-Dulu‘iyah, about 100km north of Baghdad on Wednesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that Resistance fighters attacked a column of American military vehicles and tanks under Apache helicopter gunship air cover after it had penetrated into the al-Jabbur area in the middle of the city at midday Wednesday. The Resistance men fired rocket and medium and light machine guns at the advancing American column and also detonated a number of bombs under the US forces.

The Americans responded by engaging the Resistance men as the US helicopter gun shops rocketed the farm fields to the east of ad-Dulu‘iyah. The puppet police source said that no information on the nature or extent of casualties on either side was available. Eyewitnesses, however, confirmed that the Americans suffered losses in men and materiel and that after the battle, US troops closed off all roads leading to ad-Dulu‘iyah and imposed a tight blockade on thecity.

Resistance blasts US consulate in al-Hillah with mortar barrage Thursday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 2:12pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired nine 82mm mortar shells into the headquarters of the US consulate in al-Hillah, about 60km south of Baghdad on Thursday morning.

The al-Hillah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance barrage targeted the Babil Hotel ﾐ where the US has set up its consulate. Although no information on the nature or extent of casualties is available, plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the hotel building, indicating that it had sustained direct hits.
