Fierce fighting rages between Resistance men and US Marines in Sa‘dah near al-Qa’im around midnight Wednesday-Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:05am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment just after midnight on Wednesday-Thursday night, fierce fighting was underway in the city of al-Qa’im near the Syrian border in far-western Iraq where Resistance men were battling American Marines.

The al-Qa’im correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had ambushed a patrol of US Marines as it passed through the village of Sa‘dah in the al-Qa’im area. The correspondent reported that at that moment the Marines were being pounded by intense Resistance fire and explosions of guided rockets.

The Americans, for their part, were shooting back extremely violently in the direction from which the Resistance fire was coming. The correspondent reported that fighting was raging at that moment along the entire length of the unpaved main dirt road that runs for more than a kilometer through the town. Three American military vehicles of unknown type could be seen there on fire.

‘Anah.

Resistance bomb destroys American Humvee in ‘Anah early Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 4:29pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol in the city of ‘Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad on Wednesday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ‘Anah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of he road to the west of the city went off by a US patrol early Wednesday.

The explosion burned and completely destroyed a Humvee, killing or wounding all the Americans who were aboard it. Afterwards, the Americans closed off the area and al reads leading to it. On Tuesday, the American Christian Science Monitor newspaper quoted US military sources as saying that more than 1,000 Resistance bomb attacks alone target American troops in Iraq every month. This is four times the rate that the Americans reported in the year 2004.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance men ambush US patrol in ar-Ramadi early Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 5:16pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting took place between Iraqi Resistance men and US occupation troops in the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad, on Wednesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that combat broke out in the al-Mal‘ab neighborhood in the middle of ar-Ramadi when Resistance fighters ambushed a US patrol there using rockets and medium machine guns at 9am local time Wednesday morning. The ensuing battle lastedmore than half an hour and inflicted casualties on the Americans, in addition to badly damaging a US Humvee.

Resistance fighters kill two puppet “Iraqi National Guards” east of ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 2:25pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol east of ar-Ramadi.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the Sinn adh-Dhiban area east of ar-Ramadi as saying that Resistance men surprised the patrol that was halted on the main road. They led two of the puppet “Guards” off the road and down into farm fields where they butchered them with knives and then left. Afterwards, the puppet “Guards” carried out violent raids of houses in the area searching for the bodies of their comrades.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance assaults puppet “Iraqi National Guard” camp in al-Fallujah Tuesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 5:38pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” camp in al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, at 4:30pm local time on Tuesday afternoon.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters attacked the camp, which consists of several houses that the puppet forces commandeered from residents of the ar-Risalah neighborhood near the al-Fallujah flour mill.

The Resistance men fired rockets and machine guns in their assault on the facility. The attack sparked a battle that lasted for about 15 minutes, after which the Resistance men withdrew from the area having suffered no casualties. The puppet “National Guards” sealed off and surrounded the area in a vain attempt to find and capture the attackers.

Resistance car bomber blasts Iraqi puppet army checkpoint in al-Fallujah Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:06pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a checkpoint manned by Iraqi puppet army troops in al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad on Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Fallahat in western al-Fallujah who witnessed the attack as saying that after the occupation forces totally closed down the al-Halabisah bridge people were forced to take the alternate route through al-Fallahat and the puppet army set up its roadblock there to obstruct traffic on that route.

The residents said that it was just a few days after that checkpoint had been set up that the Resistance launched its car bomb attack. The driver of the car bomb reached the center of the roadblock before blowing up, killing at least 13 puppet troops and wounding at least five more of them. The checkpoint was completely taken down Wednesday morning.

Baghdad.

Resistance blasts “Green Zone” with mortar shell Wednesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 6:59pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a few minutes earlier, an Iraqi Resistance mortar shell blasted into the middle of the high-security zone around the Iraqi Republican Palace in Baghdad ﾐ the district dubbed the “Green Zone” by the Americans. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet security source as saying that a Resistance mortar shell landed in the al-‘Abbasi Palace overlooking the Tigris River. No information on US casualties or damage was available.

Lightning attack by Iraqi Resistance leaves three puppet “Iraqi National Guards” dead in Baghdad’s al-Yarmuk district Wednesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 5:47pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a checkpoint manned by Iraqi puppet “National Guards” in the Baghdad district of al-Yarmuk on Wednesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the “Four Streets” area of al-Yarmuk as saying that the checkpoint there was the target of a lighting raid by Resistance fighters who fired two rockets and opened up with light and medium machine guns on the facility. The attack was so quick and came from two different directions, making the puppet troops incapable of responding. The attack set one Iraqi puppet army Humvee ablaze and killed three of the puppet “National Guards” who were on duty at the facility.

US soldier reported killed in Resistance bomb attack in al-A‘zamiyah Tuesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 6:04pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the northern Baghdad district of al-A‘zamiyah on Tuesday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the district as saying that a bomb that had been planted on ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz Street in the district exploded at 3pm local time Tuesday afternoon when a US patrol was driving by. The blast completely disabled an American Humvee, killing at least one American soldier and wounding others, according to the witnesses.

Resistance assaults puppet “Shock Troop” headquarters in southwestern Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 5:35pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired three RPG-7 rocket propelled grenades into a headquarters of the puppet Iraqi “Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in an attack in southwestern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that Resistance fighters attacked the puppet “Shock Troop” headquarters behind the central markets in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of southwestern Baghdad firing rocket propelled grenades and medium machine guns. The attack set the facility on fire and sent plumes of smoke and flame leaping into the sky. Ambulances raced to the building indicating that there had been casualties among the puppet forces.

At-Tarimiyah.

Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter kills two US troops in quick succession in at-Tarimiyah Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 6:01pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resisatance marksman shot and killed two US solideers who were manning a checkpoint in at-Tarimiyah, about 30km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who live in at-Tarimiyah as saying that a Resistance sharpshooter opened fire on two US troops as they stood inside a check point in the town on Tuesday.

The witnesses confirmed that sharpshooter’s bullets scored direct hits on the two US soldiers in quick succession, killing both instantly ﾐ to the shock of their comrades. The other Americans immediately closed the checkpoint and dove for cover inside their military vehicles and earthen behind concrete barricades and earthen fortifications lest they share the fate of the two who had died.

Tikrit.

Mourners continue to stream into Tikrit ﾐ from the Shi‘i south, as well as the Sunni west and north ﾐ to pay last respects to martyred Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

In a dispatch posted at 2:05pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that crowds of mourners still flock to the gravesite of martyred Iraqi President Saddam Husayn near Tikrit, about 180km north of Baghdad.

The Tikrit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported relatives of the martyred President as saying that on Tuesday deputations of mourners came from the predominantly Shi‘i cities of Karbala’, an-Nasiriyah, and al-Basrah arrived to offer their condolences.

The sources said that these mourners from the south were from Iraqi Arab tribes of the Shi‘i Muslim faith who are neither sectarian nor do they have any inclination to support Iran. They came to visit the tomb of their fallen Iraqi leader and to pay their last respects.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent noted that on Wednesday, mourners came in from the provinces of al-Anbar, Diyala, Ninwa (al-Mawsil) and at-Ta’mim (Kirkuk). Deputations from ad-Dujayl offer condolences at grave of fallen Iraqi leader, denounce false testimony from fake “witnesses” at “trial” that ordered Saddam Husayn’s death.

In a dispatch posted at 7:08pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that delegations of residents of the city of ad-Dujayl, about 55km north of Baghdad, have paid two visits to al-‘Awjah village, where President Saddam Husayn’s grave is located, the second visit being on Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that dozens of ad-Dujayl residents poured into the condolence hall carrying a large banner reading “Condolences of the people of ad-Dujayl for the Heroic Martyr Saddam Husayn.”

The Iraqi President was “executed” by the US-installed puppet regime on Saturday, 30 December 2006, following a show “trial” in which he was condemned to be hanged for the prosecution and execution of 148 individuals from ad-Dujayl who took part in a plot to kill the Iraqi President and overthrow the Iraqi government in 1982.

One of the members of the delegation, Shaykh Mahmud al-Fatlah, told Mafkarat al-Islam: “Lots of people in the city wanted to make a statement about the case at the trial but the sectarian government prevented them from doing so.” Shaykh al-Fatlah noted “all of those whom Saddam executed were members of the Shi‘i Da‘wah Party and of Iranian intelligence.” He said, “everybody knows that Saddam didn’t kill one civilian in that incident.”

“We were hoping that they would bring at least one real witness from among the people of ad-Dujayl,” Shaykh al-Fatlah said of the so-called “trial” in which the Iraqi President was sentenced to death, “but I swear by God and the people that all of them the “witnesses” were from an-Najaf and Karbala’ and some of them were Iranians.”

Shaykh al-Fatlah asked: “What about the 4,000 people of ad-Dujayl who were killed last year by the occupation and the sectarian government? The most recent such incident was the killing of more than 50 citizens and the arrest of 77 others after the Iraqi Resistance killed an American General in the city last July.”

Before leaving the grave site, Shaykh al-Fatlah addressed the people there calling for support for the Iraqi Resistance and insisting that the Persian invasion of Iraq be stopped.

Diyala Province.

Al-Mada’in.

Resistance pounds joint US-Iraqi puppet army camp with mortars in al-Mada’in.

In a dispatch posted at 5:44pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired ten 82mm mortar rounds into a headquarters jointly occupied by Iraqi puppet “Order Protection” forces and US occupation troops in al-Mada’in, 25km southeast of Baghdad on Wednesday morning.

The al-Mada’in correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that eight of the mortar shells landed right in the center of the occupied facility, while two of the shells blasted into the fortifications around the camp. Eyewitnesses said that the explosions that went off in the camp were so powerful that they could be heard from a long distance away. Clouds of smoke and dust could be seen rising from the facility as well. After the attack, American troops surrounded the entire headquarters and the area nearby.

Ba‘qubah.

Demonstrators in Ba‘qbuah area denounce assassination of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

In a dispatch posted at 1:13pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that demonstrations filled the streets of Ba‘qbuah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad, denouncing the assassination of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn and demanding revenge against the US occupation forces and their stooges ﾐ particularly since they carried out the killing on the first day of ‘Id al-Adha.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Ba‘qbuah a saying that 500 people from the area of Hibhib to the west of the city took to the streets on Tuesday denouncing the killing. They marched from old Hibhib to the al-Qa’id neighborhood, carrying pictures of the martyred President, Iraqi flags, and signs expressing their rage and denouncing the killing as an offense against Islam and the Muslims.

Al-Miqdadiyah.

Resistance fighters ambush puppet police patrol in al-Miqdadiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 12:54pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a puppet police patrol in al-Miqdadiyah, about 85km northeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a group of Resistance men armed with light and medium machine guns attacked a puppet police patrol from the Abi area of the city, wounding three of the puppet policemen. After the clash, the injured men were later taken to hospital for treatment and the Resistance fighters left the scene.

Shumayt.

Resistance bomb kills puppet solider near Shumayt, southwest of Kirkuk, Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 5:24pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol near the Shumayt Bridge in the al-‘Abbasi area, 60km southwest of Kirkuk on Wednesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the bomb heavily damaged a Nissan pickup that was part of the patrol, killing one puppet soldier and wounding three more of them in varying degrees. Afterwards, the source said, the puppet forces closed off the whole area.
