Al-Qa’im.

Resistance bomb destroys US Humvee in al-Qa’im midday Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:51pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the middle of the city of al-Qa’im, located near the border with Syria, at noon Wednesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb, which had been planted by the side of the road, completely destroyed a Humvee, killing or wounding all the troops aboard it. After the attack, the Americans searched the surrounding area but found nothing.

Al-Hadithah.

Resistance bomb leaves three puppet police dead in al-Haqlaniyah Wednesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 12:13pm Makkah time midday Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in al-Haqlaniyah, near al-Hadithah, at 10am local time Wednesday morning.

The al-Haqlaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road north of the city went off as a puppet police patrol was driving past, completely destroying one patrol vehicle and killing three puppet policemen who were aboard. Another four of them were severely wounded in the attack.

The witnesses reported that US troops and their Iraqi puppet army allies hurried to close off the area immediately after the blast.

Residents of al-Hadithah declare Tuesday a day of civil disobedience.

In a dispatch posted at 11:58am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the residents of al-Hadithah, 236km northwest of Baghdad, declared a day of civil disobedience on Tuesday to protest the blockade and curfew that the Americans imposed on the city and nearby towns over 45 days ago.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the city as saying that no one went to work, including government employees who did not go to their departments. Schools were closed in the city until further notice in protest against the American lock down of the city and the nearby towns of Barwanah and al-Haqlaniyah for more than a month and a half.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance attacks in al-Fallujah escalate Wednesday; US checkpoint targeted by Resistance mortars at eastern end of town.

In a dispatch posted at 5:1__pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four 82mm mortar rounds into a checkpoint at the eastern entrance to the city of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad at noon Wednesday.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the shells struck the checkpoint, which was run bu US and Iraqi puppet army troops. The sound of explosions could be heard from a great distance away as smoke rose over the checkpoint. The checkpoint was shut down and remained closed at the time of reporting.

In other news, Resistance attacks escalated in al-Fallujah on Wednesday. An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on ath-Tharthar Street in the city, damaging a Humvee. Resistance men equipped with light arms also attacked a US patrol in the al-Jawlan neighborhood of the city, but no information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.

Three US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing on highway near al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:04pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the highway near al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the commercial shops along the highway as saying that the bomb went off near the as-Sajar area of northern al-Fallujah, disabling an American Humvee and killing three US troops.

The correspondent reported that the Americans immediately closed the highway, keeping it shut down for more than three hours while the wrecked vehicle was hauled away.

Resistance sharpshooter kills Iraqi puppet “National Guard” in al-Karmah Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:54pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed an Iraqi puppet “National Guard” soldier in al-Karmah, north of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad on Wednesday.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Hasiwat area of western al-Karmah as saying that a puppet “National Guard” patrol was moving through the market there when one of the “Guards” was struck in the had and killed instantly by an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet. The witnesses reported that the other puppet “Guards” responded by firing randomly at passersby, wounding six people, one of them severely.

All the civilian victims were taken to the nearby Jordanian Hospital in the ash-Shihabi village area for treatment.

Resistance fighters assault US “as-Simak” base in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked the US base in the middle of al-Fallujah with rockets and medium weapons.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who own the currency exchange kiosks opposite the American “as-Simak” base as saying that a detachment of more than nine Resistance men attacked the facility with RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenades and light arms.

Eyewitnesses reported that fighting took place between the two sides and that the Americans fired intensively against the Resistance attackers. Plumes of smoke could be seen rising above the building, indicating that it took direct hits.

Resistance fighters attack US camp in northeastern al-Fallujah Tuesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 11:4__am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a US military camp in northeastern al-Fallujah at 4pm local time Tuesday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-‘Askari neighborhood as saying that the Iraqi Resistance mounted an attack on the US camp on al-Muhit Street in northeastern al-Fallujah, striking it with RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenades and light arms, inflicting direct hits on the building and sparking a battle with the Americans that lasted more than half an hour.

Witnesses reported that the street leading to al-‘Askari were empty due to the intense battle going on there.

“These are the days of the decisive confrontation”: Iraqi Baath issues unprecedented warning to US against executing Saddam Hussein.

The Iraqi Baath Party issued a statement on Tuesday in which it warned the United States against allowing the planned execution of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to be carried out.

Whereas in previous statements, the Baath has always said that it would only target US personnel and interests within Iraq, the statement issued on 26 December specifically indicated that if Saddam Hussein is executed, “the Baath and the Resistance are determined to respond with all means and in every place that will hurt America and its interests.”

The Baath opened its statement by reminding readers that the party had previously warned that the execution of President Saddam Hussein and his comrades was the “most serious of red lines that the American administration must not cross.” It issued this statement so that the American leadership will understand what such a step “will mean for the situation in Iraq and for America itself.”

The following is an English translation of the full text of the Baath Party statement.

To the American Administration:

A warning to anyone who harms President Saddam Hussein and his comrades.

Our party has already warned the American Administration against carrying out the order to execute President Saddam Hussein and his comrades and has affirmed that that would be the most serious of the red lines that the American Administration must not cross. Today after the confirmation by the so-called appeals court of the verdict of execution of the President and his comrades, our party warns once again of what the execution of this sentence will mean for the situation in Iraq and for America itself. The whole world knows that the final say is in the hands of the American Administration and not in the hands of the stooge government in Baghdad. The most recent proof of that is the arrest by American forces of two Iranian emissaries who came to Iraq at the invitation of Talibani whom America calls the president of Iraq!

The American Administration must be clear about the following:

1. The one who holds primary responsibility for any harm that might be done to the President Saddam Hussein is the American Administration because it is the final decision maker and not the puppet government in Baghdad. Therefore the theatrics that have been called a trial are nothing but America’s way of putting the onus of the crime of executing Saddam Hussein on the stooge government.

2. The execution of the President Saddam Hussein and his comrades will make further negotiations between the Resistance and the Baath on the one hand and the occupation on the other impossible; the US forces in Iraq will be regarded as hostages to be slowly destroyed and not allowed to withdraw peacefully.

3. The Baath and the Resistance are determined to respond with all means and in every place that will hurt America and its interests.

4. We reiterate our warning to Iran and in particular to its real president Khamenei and urge him to consider and study this situation and not cause any more Iraqi blood to be shed because our response will be in the heart of Iran and will extend to its head.

5. As to those lackeys who were charged with playing the roles of judge and appeals court, the people of Iraq will bring them to justice from wherever they might flee and no place will be safe for them. Those who protect them will be held directly responsible. They are traitors to their homeland by all internationally recognized standards because they have served the occupation and were tools in its hands, carrying out their dirty work against the people of Iraq and its legitimate national leadership.

6. Our Party affirms that the execution will not weaken the armed revolution but will only inflame it further and expand its scope, adding new recruits to it while placing on the shoulders of the American Administration the responsibility for the killing of even more of their soldiers.

7. Carrying out the verdict of execution can only be regarded as an American step to increase the unrest and aggravate further the deterioration of services in Iraq after near unanimity has been reached among its people expressed in various telegrams of Iraqi tribal shaykhs, popular and trades union organizations representing all shades of the Iraqi people who have called for the return of the President Saddam Hussein to power as the one guarantee of an immediate return of security and stability to Iraq. Therefore, carrying out the execution can only be interpreted as America’s insistence that the chaotic situation continue to worsen.

Masses of our great Iraqi people,

These are the days of the decisive confrontation. The occupation whose plans have collapsed and failed wants now to complete its sabotage activity before it is expelled by planting the seeds of acts of blood revenge among Iraqis that will go on for decades. The practice of killing simply on the basis of the religious identification listed on people’s ID cards is a clear sign of what this American plan consists in ﾐ a plan in which Iran is directly involved. The implementation of the execution is also a part of that plan because America will be departing defeated and humiliated from Iraq tomorrow, but it will leave the stooges it has commissioned to commit crime in Iraq. If they flee, they will be brought to justice because America will toss them into the trash can after they have finished up the criminal activity they have been ordered to carry out. We call on the masses of our people to be vigilant and ready to meet the demands of the situation if the execution is carried out. We call on all Iraqi patriots to confront this issue because it does not concern the Baath Party alone, but all of Iraq, since the President is the legal president of Iraq and his execution would be the fruit of his sincerity for Iraq and his refusal to abandon its interests and Iraqi Arab identity. We call on the Arab masses in their political parties and popular organizations and those governments that are concerned with Arab destiny to take a unified stance against this measure which will never serve the Arab Nation but will only be of service to Iran, colonialist America, and world Zionism that has never and will never forget that Saddam Hussein was the first one to strike it with strategic rockets, putting an end to its theory of security. It would also be because he was the one Arab president who continued to uphold the rights of Palestine and the Palestinian people, refusing to bargain over them in return for staying in power. He took on a heavy burden by refusing to conclude any agreement with America and Israel at the expense of the cause of Palestine and Iraq’s economic independence, which is the material basis for any political independence.

Let us sharpen our forces and prepare ourselves for decisive battles in the near future, with the help of God. May the banner of rescuing the President and his comrades fly high and strong in the skies of Iraq and the Arab Nation.

Resistance car bombs, explosive devices target US troops in Baghdad as argument between Marine soldier and officer escalates into fistfight Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:55pm Makkah time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb that had been parked by the side of the road in Baghdad’s al-Husayniyah district blew up by an American column on Wednesday. The blast destroyed one US vehicle, killing the members of its crew, according to a source in the Iraqi puppet police.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that another Iraqi Resistance car bomb that was parked by the side of the road went off by a patrol of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in the at-Talibiyah section of eastern Baghdad near Madinat Saddam, the section of the city nicknamed “Madinat as-Sadr” after the American occupation. The explosion, which occurred opposite the al-Mudif Restaurant, killed seven puppet “Shock Troops” and one civilian and wounded seven puppet “Shock Troops” and six civilians according to the correspondent.

In addition to the car bomb attacks, there were 13 bombings in Baghdad on Wednesday. An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column in Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah district near the headquarters of the Association of Muslim ‘Ulama’ at 8am local time Wednesday morning. The blast killed one American soldier and wounded three more of them.

Another Iraqi Resistance bomb hidden under a pile of garbage went off by a US foot patrol in Mahallat Ma‘ruf al-Karakhi in Baghdad. The explosion wounded several Americans but caused no deaths, the correspondent reported.

An Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded under a US Humvee, disabling it and killing two US soldiers and wounding three more of them in Baghdad’s al-Muhamin district in al-‘Amiriyah, Mafkarat al-Islam reported Wednesday.

The continuous increase in Iraqi Resistance attacks has been taking its toll on the morale of US troops. Iraqis witnessed an argument that escalated into a fist fight between a US Marine commander and one of his men on Palestine Street in Baghdad Wednesday morning.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a US foot patrol was moving down Palestine Street when one of the men began to argue with the Marine officer in charge of his unit. Witnesses heard the shouting escalate and watched as the yelling evolved into punches and kicks. The Marine soldier delivered several hard punches at his officer’s face and the officer was apparently prepared to shoot the soldier but other men in the unit dragged the soldier off to a vehicle and pulled the officer away.

Local witnesses had no idea what the men were fighting about but said that instances of such fights within American units were on the increase.

Resistance fighters attack puppet police in Baghdad’s as-Sayyidiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:53pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a command point manned by Iraqi puppet police in southern Baghdad’s as-Sayyidiyah district.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police who asked not to be identified as saying that the Resistance men in two cars, one of them a BMW and the other an Opel, opened fire on the puppet police patrol on the commercial street in the middle of as-Sayyidiyah, killing two puppet policemen and wounding a third. The Resistance men then drove away from the scene.

Resistance bomb targets puppet “Iraqi National Guard” Humvee in Baghdad Wednesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 1:07pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of the puppet “Iraqi National Guards” in the al-Ghalibiyah area of Baghdad on Wednesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road destroyed a Humvee, killing or wounding all the puppet “Guards” who were aboard it. The “Guards” then opened fire indiscriminately and hysterically after the attack.

Resistance bomb kills four puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops” late Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:0__pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a force of puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in southwestern Baghdad at about 11pm late on Tuesday night.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb, which exploded near the Umaymah Market in the ash-Shabab neighborhood of the al-Bayya‘ district, destroyed a four-wheel drive patrol vehicle, killing four of the puppet “Shock Troops.”

Resistance fighters capture, execute pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunman in western Baghdad Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:41pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed a pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi sectarian militiaman in Baghdad Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance set up a fake checkpoint in the al-Malhaniyah district, the al-‘Amil neighborhood of western Baghdad. There they caught a Jaysh al-Mahdi militiaman and, after questioning, shot him dead.

Resistance bombards pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia headquarters Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:38pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired three S5K rockets into a headquarters of the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi sectarian militia in the Sab‘ al-Bur area of Baghdad on Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the rockets scored direct hits, causing heavy damage to the building and killing or wounding at least eight Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen.

Resistance mounts attack on puppet police station in Bayji midday Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:26pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance men attacked a puppet police station and an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded near the same station in Bayji, about 200km north of Baghdad, at midday Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that Resistance men equipped with various types of weapons assaulted the at-Ta’mim puppet police station in the middle of Bayji, sparking battles between the two sides. The source said that the Resistance men left a car near the station, which turned out to be packed with explosives. When the Resistance fighters withdrew, the car bomb exploded, wounding four puppet policemen and a number of civilians, the source asserted.

Al-Latifiyah.

Thirty Iraqis arrested in round up of civilians by US, Iraqi puppet troops.

In a dispatch posted at 12:20pm Makkah time midday Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces together with their Iraqi puppet “National Guard” allies arrested about 30 Iraqis in an extensive campaign of raids and arrests among civilians in the al-Latifiyah area, about 30km south of Baghdad at dawn on Wednesday.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Latifiyah as saying that the US troops led their Iraqi puppet “National Guard” allies in raids in the areas of al-Khakariyah and ash-Shakhkhah, after surrounding it with a large number of vehicles. American aircraft prowled the skies overhead during the operations.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Basrah.

Attacks on British occupation forces in al-Basrah continue as puppet security forces announce a halt in cooperation with UK forces following raid on Major Crimes Department Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:17pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces mounted three rocket attacks on the headquarters of the US and British consulates in the southern city of al-Basrah. A bomb also exploded and wounded two British occupation soldiers to the north of the city.

The Iraqi puppet army run by the Anglo-American occupation, declared that it was ceasing its cooperation with the British after British forces raided and destroyed the Directorate of Major Crimes in the city.

The al-Basrah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported an official spokesman for the British occupation as declaring that three rocket attacks had been mounted on their consulate, two of them during the night and the third early on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile a bomb explode near the Shatt al-‘Arab Hotel in northern al-Basrah, a facility that has been used by the British as a headquarters since they invaded Iraq together with their American allies in the spring of 2003. Two British troops were wounded in the explosion.

In other news, the assistant to the official in charge of the Security Committee in al-Basrah, Brigadier General ‘Ali Ibrahim announced that the puppet Iraqi “Security” force would halt their cooperation with the British occupation troops in al-Basrah. The move followed a British raid on the Department of Major Crimes in the city at the end of which the Department was dynamited on Monday, 25 December.

Specifically, General Ibrahim said that the 14th stage of the so-called Operation as-Sindibad security operation ﾐ which was being led by British troops together with the puppet Iraqi security forces and army would come to a halt.
