US warplane kills two civilians, wounds three more in raid on home near al-Fallujah Saturday night.

In a dispatch posted at 5:14pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a US warplane struck a civilian home in the al-Hasy area, a western suburb of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying tha the US warplane attacked the house late on Saturday night, destroying it completely and killing two family members inside. Three more people, two of them children, were wounded in the American air raid.

The source said that fierce fighting raged intermittently between US troops and Iraqi Resistance men all day on Saturday.

Saturday evening gun battle in al-Fallujah leaves US soldier reported dead; Americans respond to attack by killing two Iraqi civilians in wild gunfire.

In a dispatch posted at 3:20pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a US patrol in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, on Saturday evening, prompting American troops to kill civilians.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that Resistance men attacked a patrol of several Humvees in the 40 Street area of the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood near the al-Hadrah al-Muhammadiyah area sparking a gun battle that lasted 20 minutes in which rockets and light and medium machine guns were used. One American was killed and two more of them wounded in the battle.

The source said that the Americans then responded by shooting indiscriminately and hysterically in all directions, killing two civilians.

Resistance attacks Iraqi puppet troops in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:59pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed an Iraqi puppet soldier in al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad on Sunday morning. The Resistance also bombarded the headquarters of the puppet “Iraqi National Guard” in the city during the night of Saturday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a Resistance sharpshooter opened fire on a patrol of the puppet “National Guard” near the Industrial Zone of eastern al-Fallujah at 7am local time Sunday morning, striking one of the puppet “Guards” in the head and killing him instantly. The puppet “Guard” patrol responded by shooting wildly and indiscriminately all around the area.

The source said that the Resistance also bombarded the as-Salam Hotel in the eastern part of al-Fallujah with two heavy 120km mortar shells at 10pm Saturday night. Explosions could be heard going off inside the facility and smoke rose from it as well.

Resistance destroys US vehicle in battle in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 7:06am GMT time Sunday, Quds Press reported that Iraqi Resistance men had detonated a bomb by a US patrol that was entering the al-Ba‘th neighborhood of al-Fallujah, destroying a US vehicle.

The correspondent for Quds Press reported that Resistance men then attacked the US patrol with light and medium weapons sparking a half-hour gun battle. Afterwards, the Resistance men withdrew from the area, leaving fire and a plume of black smoke rising from the scene. The Americans closed off the area and imposed a curfew as American helicopters were seen flying in overhead.

Al-Hadithah.

Two US troops reported dead, three severely burned in Resistance bomb attack in al-Hadithah on Saturday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol in the middle of al-Hadithah, 236km northwest of Baghdad, at 6pm on Saturday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Hadithah as saying that the bomb in the ‘Alawi as-Samak area in the middle of the city completely burned and destroyed a US vehicle, killing two American troops. The witnesses confirmed seeing the vehicle burning with the Americans inside and added that afterwards, US forces closed off the entire area and hauled the burned vehicle away after pulling five soldiers from it, two dead and three more severely burned.

Al-Qa’im.

US soldier reported killed by Resistance sharpshooter in al-Qa’im midday Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:59pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the city of al-Qa’im near the border with Syria in western Iraq at 1pm local time Saturday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the al-Bu Mahall puppet police station in al-Qa’im as saying that an American foot patrol was in the al-‘Askari area of eastern al-Qa’im when one of the US soldiers took a direct hit in the head from an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him.

US troops closed off the area after the attack and carried out searches in the area, arresting four men, on the pretext that one of them was believed to have been the Resistance sharpshooter.

Al-Husaybah.

Iraqi Resistance drives US forces out of al-Husaybah on Syrian border, takes control of town, destroying American military barriers and headquarters.

In a dispatch posted at 12:15pm Makkah time midday Sunday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had taken the Husaybah area near the Iraq-Syria border under their control

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance took control of al-Husaybah three days ago after US forces withdrew from the town and its environs after ferocious and concentrated Resistance attacks on them last week.

The correspondent reported that during that offensive, the Resistance targeted US columns and patrols in al-Husaybah and its environs. Eyewitnesses coming from the city reported that the Resistance had taken control of all vital functions in the town and had taken down all the concrete barriers and obstacles set up by the Americans. They destroyed the headquarters that the Americans had used, including a school and a house that the US troops had used for observation and sniping.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb wounds puppet “National Guardsmen” in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 3:21pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” force in Baghdad on Sunday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb on the pavement in the middle of the street in the ar-Rabi‘ area of the al-Jami‘ah neighborhood of Baghdad.

The blast heavily damaged a Nissan pickup belonging to the puppet “Guards” and wounded two of the puppet “Guards” on the patrol, one of them severely. Afterwards the “Guards” closed off the area.

Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen kidnap Sunnis from Iraqi Red Crescent building in Baghdad midday Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:23pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian gunmen dressed in the uniforms of the American-run “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” had kidnapped about 20 Sunni Iraqis in Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen dressed as puppet “Shock Troops” and driving “Interior Ministry” cars drove up to the Red Crescent building on al-Andalus Square on the ar-Rusafah side of the al-Karadah area and abducted 20 Sunni civilians there.

The Red Crescent Society is the equivalent of the Red Cross in Islamic countries.

Later, in a dispatch posted at pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Mazin ‘Abdallah, the General Secretary of the Iraqi Red Crescent, announced that six of the 30 individuals abducted by Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen at midday had been released.

‘Abdallah added that all of those released were elderly and had worked as doormen or drivers with the Red Crescent and all were released near the ash-Sha‘b district of Baghdad just shortly after the kidnapping. Twenty-four people were still in the custody of the kidnappers, 21 of them employees of the Red Crescent office. Three others had come to the Red Crescent office to obtain aid.

Resistance traps Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen with fake checkpoint Sunday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:53am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces set up a fake checkpoint in the western Baghdad district of al-Yarmuk on Sunday morning and arrested a member of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance detachment set up their fake checkpoint near Jami‘ ash-Shawwaf Street in al-Yarmuk with the aim of capturing Jaysh al-Mahdi or Badr Brigade gunmen. The witnesses said that one Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen fell into the trap Sunday morning, thinking that the checkpoint had been set up by the Iraqi puppet regime, whose security forces are made up largely of Jaysh al-Mahdi and Badr Brigade members. The witnesses said that the Iraqi Resistance executed their Jaysh al-Mahdi captive immediately.

Resistance bomb disables US Humvee late Saturday night.

In a dispatch posted at 3:01pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the Dawr Hayy an-Naft area of Baghdad late on Saturday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast completely disabled a US Humvee, but no information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.

Puppet police wounded in Resistance bombing Saturday night.

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in the western Baghdad area of al-Yarmuk at 7pm Saturday night.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the bomb heavily damaged a patrol vehicle wounding two puppet policemen who were taken to hospital for treatment.

Diyala Province.

Al-Mada’in.

Resistance men battle puppet “Wolf Brigade” in al-Mada’in Sunday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 3:25pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting raged between Resistance men and members of the puppet “Iraqi Ary Wolf Brigade” in al-Mada’in, about 25km southeast of Baghdad, on Sunday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance armed with rockets and medium machine guns ambushed a Wolf Brigade patrol in the al-Basatin area of central al-Mada’in, sparking a violent gun battle. The puppet Wolf Brigade lost 13 of its men dead or wounded and afterwards, the Resistance fighters withdrew from the area.

Al-Khalis.

Bodies of seven Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen found executed.

In a dispatch posted at 2:06pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that witnesses and medical sources said Sunday that the Iraqi puppet police had found the bodies of seven members of the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi sectarian militia executed in the city of al-Khalis, about 60km north of Baghdad on Friday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the identity papers on the bodies issued by the Muqtada as-Sadr office and indicating that they were with the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia were placed on the bodies. Hospital sources acknowledged receiving the seven corpses.

Babil Province.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

Resistance bombards Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters in al-Mahmudiyah Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:09pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four 82mm mortar rounds into the headquarters of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the city of al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad at 7pm local time on Friday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Mahmudiyah as saying that the barrage killed or wounded 17 Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen and inflicted damage on the building.

Al-Hillah.

Resistance bombards US consulate, American base in al-Hillah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:16pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the US base and the headquarters of the American consulate in al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad, on Saturday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saing that the US consulate set up in the Babil Tourist Hotel in al-Hillah was targeted by four 82mm mortar rounds. Three of the shells scored direct hits on the American consulate while the fourth landed in the gardens surrounding it.

The source added that the Resistance blasted the US base called “Kasler” located in the Jablat al-Mashru‘ area to the north of al-Hillah with two heavy 120mm mortar rounds. Witnesses said they saw smoke rising from the facility.

Al-Musayyib.

In a dispatch posted at 12:52pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a puppet police checkpoint in al-Musayyib, about 70km south of Baghdad in the early hours of Sunday.

The al-Hillah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the Resistance fighters armed with light and medium machine guns attacked checkpoint and observation station No. 40 in the al-Musayyib area. One puppet policeman was wounded and taken to hospital.

Al-Basrah Province.

Rocket attack Saturday morning shuts down al-Basrah Airport.

In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an informed source in al-Basrah International Airport had disclosed that all air traffic came to a halt in the facility for several hours on Saturday after the British base set up at the airport was hit by a Katyusha rocket.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported all air traffic was halted for seven hours after the attack. Activity resumed only after 4pm Saturday afternoon. In the meantime British helicopters could be seen cruising the area looking for the attackers.

Al-Basrah airport is a departure port for Iraqi pilgrims on their way to the Saudi port of Jeddah for the Hajj. Al-Basrah is also serviced by flights from Baghdad and Irbil within occupied Iraq as well as flights from Egypt, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates.

Arab tribal leader assassinated in al-Basrah, tribes blame Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.

In a dispatch posted at 10:45am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men assassinated Shaykh Muhsin ‘Abdallah at-Tamimi, a prominent leader of the Bani Tamim tribe in the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack took place in the al-‘Ashshar area when Shaykh at-Tamimi was preparing to cross the Shatt al-‘Arab waterway over a bridge. At that moment a puppet police car pulled up and sprayed the shaykh with gunfire.

Eyewitnesses said that after the assassination, armed men from the Bani Tamim tribe swooped down on the headquarters of the movement led by pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian cleric Muqtada as-Sadr in the Shatt al-‘Arab area accusing as-Sadr’s armed wing the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia of having killed their Shaykh Muhsin at-Tamimi.

The witnesses reported that a gun battle erupted between the Bani Tamim tribal fighters and the Jaysh al-Mahdi sectarian gunmen, the results of which were not available at the time of writing.

Meanwhile, the puppet police in the area declared a nighttime curfew in al-Basrah because of threats against the puppet authorities there from various tribes after the assassination of Shaykh at-Tamimi.
