米軍増派という事態に対して、
・シスターニ師が「民兵の武装解除に賛成」と伝えられ
・サドル派のマハディ軍はバグダッドで表面的には目立たないようになり
・サドル派四百人と幹部数人を拘束
そして、サドル派の議員が二か月ぶりに議会に復帰
というのが、21日時点での情勢だと思います。
これで、サドル派への攻撃は収まっていくのか、
更に激化するのか、まだ分かりません。
ハーシミー副大統領は、BBCとの番組で、
今回の措置が失敗した場合、その次に来るのは、
「クーデターではなく、強権的な救国戦線ということになるかもしれません」
と述べています。
サウジ紙はアラウィ氏による軍事政権などと物騒なことを書いています。
米軍増派は、ブッシュ政権の「最後の賭け」なのなら、
それが失敗した場合の次を考えているということでしょう。
スンニ派とアラウィ派が組んで？
（そこにファディーラ党、更にはもしかしたらサドル派も？）
強権的な軍事政権樹立というシナリオが描かれているということでしょうか。
まあ、そういうこともあり得るとちらつかせることそれ自体が、
一つの政治的圧力であり、政治的手段なのかもしれません。
そもそも15万の米軍が存在する中で、
アメリカの意に染まない体制樹立など不可能なのですから、
米軍撤退後のシナリオ、つまり「次の次」ということでしょうか。
それともアラウィ氏ならアメリカも容認するということでしょうか。

「サドル派事務所は、拘束されていた広報担当の
ダラージ氏を含む七人の内、二人が釈放されたと発表しました。
この七人はバグダッド東部地区で拘束されましたが、
その際、ダラージ氏の護衛一人が死亡しました。
米軍は、イラク軍特殊部隊が19日早朝、マハディ軍幹部一人を
拘束したと発表していましたが、名前は明らかにしませんでした。
『私達は何があろうと徹底的に守ります』
こう発言するサドル派の大物とされるダラージ氏は拘束されています。
サドル派の広報担当であるダラージ氏を側近の六人と共に拘束したのは、
米軍の支援を受けたイラク軍の特殊部隊とされています。
アメリカはダラージ氏に対して様々な容疑をかけています。
・暗殺部隊の幹部の容疑
・イラク治安情勢の中で非常に有名ではあるけれども、
顔や行方が全く掴めていないアブ・ダラー氏との関係
サドル派事務所は、今回の拘束はあってはならないことで、
事実無根だとしています。
しかしナジャフやバグダッドの街中ではまだ抗議行動を起こしていません。
ダラージ氏がまだ釈放されないことで、
一両日中に明らかになるとされる大規模な治安対策の一端が垣間見えます。
今後にわたりどのような新戦略が立てられているのでしょう。

politicians all of them predicting the demise of the Maliki government
and speculating on or predicting the establishment of an emergency
government of national salvation or a military government.
However the choice of interviewees is not exactly a representative
sampling.
The four are
:Adnan Pachachi, who is currently a member of Ayad Allawi's group
and a supporter of his
;Mahmoud Othman, a Kurdish member of the Iraqi parliament who is not
associated with either of the two big Kurdish pasrties
but is a member of the Kurdish parliamentary coalition
;a spokesman for the Muslim Scholars Association
;Izzat al-Shabandar, another member of Allawi's group.

Arab nationalist politician Adnan Pachachi from Abu Dhabi.
The old-time politician argued that US troops should be replaced by
an Arab and Islamic force under UN military control, since the Americans

them.

there, I remember that the Christian Phalangist militia bombed
a Christian cookie factory downtown.
I was puzzled and asked around as to why they would do that.
The best guess of my friends was that they were trying to create
unemployment so that the workers would take a pay cut to work
as militiamen instead.
My guess is, that the attempt to revive the factories is going to meet
with a lot of sabotage.

But despite this, the players here are Sunni, Shia, Kurdish and even
