In a dispatch posted at 2:29pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the General Secretary of the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq Shaykh Harith ad-Darri said that the Report of the Iraq Study Group, also known as the Baker Commission, “offers nothing to Iraqis.” Shaykh ad-Darri, the head of the highest Sunni Muslim religious authority in occupied Iraq said that the Baker report “only focuses on how to solve the occupation’s problem in Iraq.”
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported ad-Darri as saying after a meeting in Aden with Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Salih that the Baker report “didn’t offer anything to Iraqis and didn’t help in any way to solve the Iraqi problem.”
Ad-Darri went on: “the Report focuses on how to solve the occupation’s problem in Iraq. Neither the Americans nor this report of theirs ミ that they sought and greatly hailed ミ were concerned with anything other than how to quit and get out of Iraq safely and as winners, as is their hope, though reality is pointing in a different direction.”
Ad-Darri also observed: “The Arab role in Iraq is non-existent and has not crystallized into a positive clear, position that can treat the problem clearly and in a straightforward manner.” He emphasized that the Association of Muslim Scholars is opposed to sectarian strife and believed it was unlikely that the Iraqi people would reach a situation of civil war.

Afterwards, US troops completely surrounded the area but arrested no one in their sweep.

US forces kept the area closed for four hours after the attack during which time they carried out searches of houses nearby and then left with their casualties.
Baghdad was generally quiet between 11am and 3pm when the curfew declared by the puppet regime was in force ミ a provision designed to prevent large numbers of people from going to major mosques for prayer.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported, however, that five Iraqi Resistance mortar rounds blasted into a headquarters of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi near the an-Nur Hospital in the Baghdad neighborhood of ash-Shu‘lah. Four of the pro-Iranians were killed and another 14 of them wounded, medical sources said.

Twenty-two bodies of probable Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen found in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet police found 22 bodies of people executed by shots to the head. The bodies were found in various parts of Baghdad, including al-‘Amiriyah, near the Jisr as-Safarat, and the southern suburb of ad-Durah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that it was believed that they were members of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia executed by the Iraqi Resistance.
Salah ad-Din Province.
Al-Ishaqi.
US airborne landing, air raids leave 30 Iraqi civilians dead, 10 more wounded in al-Ishaqi Friday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US warplanes staged an airborne landing in the town of al-Ishaqi.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Americans surrounded the entire area with a large “security cordon” and then stormed into the houses of Muhammad Hasan Jalmud and his brother Mahmud Hasan Jalmud. The US troops took out the women and children with them into the street and then shot them.
The witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that afterwards the US troops took the bodies of the victims ミ four women, 10 children and 10 men back inside the two houses and then aircraft struck the houses from a distance.
The witnesses said that the houses had been turned into a big hole by the repeated air strikes that went on even after they had been completely blown up. Another rocket was fired at a house near the two originally targeted homes. The attack on that third house left six people dead including women and children.
As a result of the airborne raid and air strikes, a total of 30 Iraqis were killed. Another 10 people who lived in homes near the three that were targeted suffered wounds in the American air raid.
Earlier, in a bulletin posted at 11:11am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an American air raid had targeted the city of al-Ishaqi, about 85km north of Baghdad
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses that there were dozens of dead and wounded civilians as a result of the attack by American warplanes on homes in the city. Most of the victims were women and children.

Under discussion were an end to the US blockade, a halt of American air attacks, the release of captive local residents from US-run prisons. In return the Americans want the tribes to hand over the body of an American killed in fighting there on Wednesday and a halt of Resistance attacks as well as a number of other things.
As a result of the American blockade, local residents have been forced for two days to dig wells in their yards in an effort to find drinking water since the city’s running water has been cut off by US forces. More than 40 women and children have died as a result of the blockade of the area.
Diyala Province.
Al-Mada’in.
In two days of grueling battle in al-Mada’in, Resistance forces ミ including women fighters ミ throw back assault by puppet Wolf Brigade and Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen.
In a dispatch posted at 7:12pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a fierce battle raged in the city of al-Mada’in, a town of about 20,000 people located about 25km southeast of Baghdad on Thursday and into Friday morning between puppet “Iraqi Government” forces and pro-Iranian militia on one side and Iraqi Resistance fighters and local defenders on the other.
The al-Mada’in correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the fighting broke out at dawn on Thursday when the puppet regime’s “Wolf Brigade” attacked the city and took control of a local cemetery as well as the districts of al-Khanasah, al-Wahdah, al-Mashru‘, and at-Taqqah. About an hour into the fighting, pro-Iranian Shi ‘ sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen joined the attack along side the puppet regime “Wolf Brigade,” bringing in a big force that camped down in the city under the protection of the “Wolf Brigade” who had come in with a force of 3,000 men plus cars and military vehicles.
By 9am local time Thursday morning, the correspondent reported, the Wolf Brigade puppet regime soldiers and Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen had together taken control of 60 percent of the city of al-Mada’in without so much as one shot being fired against them. Local residents awaited orders from the Iraqi Resistance to launch their counter attack.
Those orders were given and a comprehensive offensive by Resistance men and local residents went into action along four axes. The Resistance group Ansar as-Sunnah led the counter attack from the directions of al-Bawi Garden, al-Wahdah, al-Khanasah, and the main street in the city. Over 200 Resistance fighters and between 500 and 550 local Sunnis joined the counter attack on the invading Shi‘i sectarian-puppet regime force.
For four hours a ferocious and continuous battle raged. Among the defenders of al-Mada’in were seven women fighters who behaved with valor, Mafkarat al-Islam reported. Three of the women were killed in battle, one of them seven months pregnant. All of them died with their machine guns in their hands.
In all, Mafkarat al-Islam reported in a dispatch posted at 9:59pm Makkah time, that 12 Resistance men were killed in the two days of fighting ミ three of them the women warriors.
The fighting came to a halt after the Resistance defenders managed to regain control of the city hospital, the electric department and the neighborhoods of al-Wahdah, al-Khanasah, al-Bawi Garden, and the areas of al-Juhayshiyah and ash-Shujayriyah. A count of the bodies of the puppet troops and Shi‘i sectarian gunmen found after the battle just in the areas of al-Bawi Garden and al-Juhayshiyah alone revealed that 76 of the sectarian-puppet regime attackers had been killed. The Resistance men and defenders of al-Mada’in seized the weapons of their dead adversaries, leaving the corpses lying among the date palms and orange trees until Friday morning, when US troops shoed up to evacuate the dead.
The Resistance set 14 pickups belonging to the Jaysh al-Mahdi and Wolf Brigade on fire. Thirty-five of the sectarian-puppet regime troops were killed in the ash-Shari‘ al-‘Arid area.
Then at 2pm the Wolf Brigade and Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen returned to regroup thir forces but this time suffered heavier losses because fresh Resistance fighters belonging to the Islamic Army and al-Qa‘idah Resistance groups moved into al-Mada’in from al-Mahmudiyah and al-Latifiyah. That battle raged until 10pm local time Thursday night and when it ended the local defenders and Iraqi Resistance fighters had retaken all of the city of al-Mada’in and had seized large quantities of weapons as well as maps and other intelligence brought in by the puppet-sectarian forces. Twenty-two prisoners fell into the hands of the Resistance and local defenders, including an officer in the puppet regime Wolf Brigade who was related to the notorious Iranian Shi‘i cleric Jalal as-Saghir who runs the al-Buratha mosque in Baghdad ミ an infamous center of torture and murder of Sunni Iraqis. The captive officer’s name was ‘Ali Rida Jawad as-Saghir.
The correspondent reported that at 1am Friday morning, remnants of the sectarian-puppet forces were still gathered at the former nuclear power plant. The Resistance therefore launched an attack on that position with mortars and rockets, killing and wounding more than 40 of them.
Then on Friday morning, the puppet-sectarian forces attempted to make up for their disastrous defeat on Thursday by attacking the al-Wahdah and al-Ba‘thiyah area sparking a violent battle that raged for several hours on Friday morning. In the end the puppet regime and Shi‘i sectarian attackers were repulsed again.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam found it strange that the US occupation forces had withdrawn from al-Mada’in hours before the puppet Wolf Brigade launched its offensive. The Americans failed to return again with their helicopters and military vehicles until after the fighting had finished on the first day, whereupon they busied themselves with packing up the bodies of the dead sectarians and puppet troops, loading them aboard big trucks that transported them to the provincial capital of Babil Province, al-Hillah, 100km south of Baghdad.
Ba‘qubah.
Americans impose curfew, carry out mass arrests in Ba‘qubah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:19am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces imposed a total curfew on the city of Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad on Friday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the curfew also extended to all the main towns around Ba‘qubah. It is a comprehensive curfew, meaning that not only cars but pedestrian traffic has also been banned and the main mosques in the city have been closed. US occupation troops and their puppet army allies have deployed around the area.
The correspondent reported that dozens of military vehicles deployed around the center of Ba‘qubah in the first such operation in the city in months. At the time of reporting, the Americans were carrying out mass arrests in the districts of at-Tahrir and al-Katun, rounding up 40 local residents so far.
Babil Province.
Al-Mahmudiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 3:12pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, puppet Iraqi regime “Scorpion Brigade” forces together with pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia attacked the al-Muwazzafin, al-Gharir and as-Sa‘idat neighborhoods in al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the combat was still going on at the time of reporting.
