US closes al-Hadithah Dam, drying Euphrates riverbed in area where Chinook helicopter went down Monday as search continues for missing Americans.
In a dispatch posted at 1:38pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces on Tuesday closed the al-Hadithah Dam, drying up the Euphrates River in a continuing effort to search for soldiers missing for two days following the shooting down of a US Chinook helicopter in the area on Monday, 4 December.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Americans ordered the Dams Department to close completely the 12 gates of the dam, blocking the water behind it but opening the ath-Tharthar Canal to circumvent the area where the two-rotor American helicopter crashed. It was rumored that a high-ranking Marine officer was among those listed as missing in the crash.
Resistance fighters ambush joint US-Iraqi puppet police patrol in al-Haqlaniyah on Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:44am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a joint US-Iraqi puppet police patrol in al-Haqlaniyah, near al-Haditha, about 236km northwest of Baghdad, on Tuesday.
The al-Haqlaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance men armed with automatic weapons and hand grenades attacked the joint patrol near the Grand Mosque in the middle of al-Haqlaniyah. Witnesses had no information on the nature or extent of casualties, since the Americans and their Iraqi puppet police allies closed off the area immediately after the attack and began raiding nearby homes.
Hit.
Relentless Resistance attacks drive US forces out of Hit.
In a dispatch posted at 11:39am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the repeated blows being delivered by the Iraqi Resistance have forced the US occupation forces to withdraw their forces from the city of Hit, about 165km northwest of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Hit as saying that US forces began their pull out on Tuesday, evacuating one of their headquarters in the city after it had come under repeated attacks.
Witnesses reported that the US occupation forces pulled vehicles and equipment out of the Hit railroad station but had not yet completely evacuated that position.
Sources in the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Americans do intend to withdraw completely from Hit, handing their facilities in the city over to the Iraqi puppet army.
Al-Habbaniyah.
Resistance forces pound US al-Habbaniyah base with heavy mortars on Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:06pm Makkah time midday Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired twelve heavy 120 mortar rounds into the US al-Habbaniyah base, about 70km west of Baghdad on Tuesday.
The al-Habbaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported members of the al-Fallahat tribe in the al-Jaffah area who witnessed the attack as saying that the shells blasted into the American-occupied base, setting off explosions that violently shook the four corners of the facility and sent plumes of smoke billowing up from inside. US helicopters were seen prowling the skies above the base for a “long time” following the attack.
Ar-Ramadi.
US locks down ar-Ramadi as Iraqi puppet army troops prepare to deploy there Wednesday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 6pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces had announced that they had completely sealed off the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad starting at 6pm local time Wednesday evening and until further notice.
The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US troops used loudspeakers to announce the blockade of the city, which comes as Iraqi puppet troops prepare to deploy on the streets of the city in their first official deployment in ar-Ramadi.
Four US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing in ar-Ramadi Wednesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 6pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US Humvee in the as-Sufiyah district of ar-Ramadi on Wednesday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast killed four US troops, the dismembered remains of one of whom were found 10 meters from the scene, local witnesses said.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance fighters assault puppet “Iraqi National Guard” headquarters in al-Fallujah Wednesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 3:12pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters mounted a violent attack on the headquarters of puppet “Iraqi National Guards” in eastern al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad on Wednesday morning.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that Resistance men fired rocket-propelled grenades at the puppet “National Guard” base on as-Sadd Street in the Industrial Zone of al-Fallujah on Wednesday morning.
Following the rocket attack, a firefight broke out between Resistance fighters and the puppet guards in which light and medium weapons were used. The battle lasted for about an hour, during which time the main street in al-Fallujah which was near the scene of the fighting and also nearby side streets were empty of pedestrians and traffic. Witnesses confirmed that the headquarters sustained damage in the attack.
Four US troops reported killed in Resistance car bomb attack in al-Fallujah on Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:21pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US column in southeastern al-Fallujah on Tuesday.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the Sa‘dan area as saying that a Resistance fighter drove an explosives-laden Caprice car into a US column, completely destroying one US Humvee and inflicting heavy damage on a second. The explosion killed four US troops and wounded four more of them to varying degrees, the witnesses said.
Afterwards, the American troops surrounded and sealed off the area and then hauled away the wreckage and evacuated their dead and wounded.
Resistance battles US troops in downtown al-Fallujah late Tuesday night.
In a dispatch posted at 10:53am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting raged between Iraqi Resistance forces and US occupation troops in the middle of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, during Tuesday-Wednesday night.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that late on Tuesday night fierce fighting erupted near ath-Tharthar Street in the Nuwwab ad-Dubbat neighborhood of al-Fallujah. Since the nighttime curfew was in force at the time, no details on the nature or extent of casualties were available. On Wednesday morning, large numbers of US and Iraqi puppet army troops were deployed in the area.
Baghdad.
Resistance fighter begins operations against US occupation in Baghdad at dawn Wednesday with car bomb attack south of ad-Durah, leaving five Marines reported dead.
In a dispatch posted at 8:50pm Makkah time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter plunged his explosives-packed Passat car into a US military column on the road to al-Mahmudiyah south of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah at dawn on Wednesday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the explosion destroyed one US vehicle and disabled a second, killing five US Marines and wounding four more of them.
In other attacks on Wednesday, the Iraqi Resistance fired 15 mortar rounds into US checkpoints on the road to Saddam International Airport, into a pro-Iranian Shi ‘ sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters, and into the US base set up in the former Iraqi Chiefs of Staff building in western Baghdad.
Seven Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded in Baghdad’s al-Karakh District alone on Wednesday. The first four targeted US troops. One of those bombings, in al-‘Amiriyah, destroyed a US military vehicle and killed one American soldier and wounded three more. A second Resistance bombing destroyed a US armored vehicle and left three American troops dead or wounded. That attack was claimed by the Ansar as-Sunnah Resistance organization, which has begun a sharp escalation of its attacks in Baghdad. Two other bombings left eight puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” and puppet army troops dead.
Four Resistance mortar rounds blasted concentrations of the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, killing or wounding 15 of the sectarian militiamen at about 10am local time Wednesday morning.
Resistance men also assaulted a checkpoint manned by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in the ash-Shuhada’ neighborhood of the al-Bayya‘ District, killing four of the puppet “Shock Troops,” including Captain Husayn as-Sadri, known as Husayn Kalabjah. The mainstream media, as usual, misrepresented that attack, saying that it targeted four Shi‘i civilians, despite the blood that covered the checkpoint and the cries of the puppet “Shock troops” that were heard by local witnesses throughout the attack.
A bomb that had been packed in a cooking gas cylinder and planted by the side of the road in the Janiniyah area of al-Ghazaliyah in western Baghdad went off by a puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” patrol, killing five of the puppet “Shock Troops” and wounding three more of them.
The US-installed Iraqi puppet regime claimed that its forces had disarmed a car bomb that was intended to kill innocent civilians in the predominantly Shi‘i al-Kazimiyah district of Baghdad. Eyewitnesses, however, and medical sources confirmed that a car bomb had actually exploded near a detachment of pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen the as-Sakalat area where lumber and construction supplies are sold. The blast killed or wounded 11 of the Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen.
The Resistance fired seven mortar rounds into the area of al-Maydan Square in Baghdad’s ar-Rusafa district, the scene of a sectarian murder several days ago in which Shi‘i sectarian gunmen killed three Sunni college students on their way home from class.
The mortar attack killed or wounded 54 people in the square, all of them men, despite claims by the puppet regime and the western media that women and children had been targeted. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam pointed out that the square where the attack took place is a market for used car parts and is not visited by women or children.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by puppet “Order Protection” police opposite the as-Sajj restaurant in the Baghdad district of az-Zuyunah at 9am local time Wednesday morning, killing a first lieutenant in the puppet army and wounding eight more puppet troops.
Five bodies of pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen were found executed in the al-‘Amiriyah district of western Baghdad. A sixth Jaysh al-Mahdi gunman was found dead in al-Ghazaliyah.
The al-Yarmuk Hospital announced that it had received nine bodies of Shi‘i sectarian militiamen that had been found in the al-Qantarah area, the district located between ad-Durah in southern Baghdad and Hur Rajab.
Arrests hit a high mark in Baghdad. In addition to 51 youths rounded up in al-Yarmuk (see story below) another eight were arrested in the al-Jami‘ah (University) area.
Fierce fighting was heard in al-‘Amiriyah when Resistance men assaulted a puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” checkpoint under the al-Jihad neighborhood bridge. Three puppet “Shock Troops” were reported killed and one wounded in the clash.
The puppet “Health Ministry,” which is run by the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi announced that in all of Baghdad 122 people were killed in various activities during the day.
Resistance attacks were continuing even at the time of reporting, despite the nighttime curfew that was in force.
The Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia is run by Muqtada as-Sadr, a Shi‘i cleric loyal to Iran, which is seeking to extend its regional hegemony and step into the shoes of the American occupation in Iraq.
Bomb rips through bus in Madinat as-Sadr midday Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 2:28pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at midday Wednesday, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded inside a bus carrying employees of the puppet regime’s court system in the Madinat Saddam district of eastern Baghdad ミ a district dubbed “Madinat as-Sadr” after the American occupation which is now a stronghold for the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet security service source as claiming that the bomb had been placed in a bag and that it exploded aboard a large passenger bus near the al-Kayyarah popular market in “Madinat as-Sadr.” The source said that the blast killed “several” people and injured eight who were taken to hospital for treatment.
In a dispatch posted at 8:50pm Makkah time Wednesday night, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that contrary to mainstream media claims that the bus had been targeted by a martyrdom attacker, the explosion had actually come from a 15kg bomb that had been placed in a parcel and left on the bus. The bus itself was transporting employees of the puppet “Major Crimes Court,” the correspondent wrote, 15 of whom died in the blast.
US forces storm homes in Baghdad’s al-Yarmuk district Tuesday night, arresting 51 local youths.
In a dispatch posted at 1:50pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces accompanied by their Iraqi puppet army allies arrested 51 youths in the western Baghdad district of al-Yarmuk on Tuesday night.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces raided homes behind the Ibn Taymiyah Mosque and in the Duwar an-Naft and ad-Dakhiliyah districts of al-Yarmuk. The Americans used percussion explosives to blow open the doors of nine of the houses and then they stormed inside and arrested all the males they found there. The Americans also raided 29 other houses in the same neighborhood, arresting in all 51 people. Among those arrested were university students, government employees, and tradesmen.
Resistance bomb kills four pro-American Badr Brigade militiamen in Baghdad on Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:32pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a car belonging to the pro-American Shi ‘ sectarian Badr Brigades in southern Baghdad on Tuesday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the as-Sayyidiyah area of southern Baghdad as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road near the Shakir ‘Abbud Mosque went off by an unmarked car carrying a group of Badr Brigade gunmen. The witnesses said that the explosion completely destroyed the car, killing all four Badr Brigade militiamen aboard.
Resistance bombards puppet “Shock Troop” headquarters in Baghdad’s al-Jihad neighborhood.
In a dispatch posted at 12:17pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four 82mm mortar rounds into the headquarters of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in western Baghdad on Wednesday morning.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Jihad neighborhood as saying that the mortar shells scored direct hits on the facility, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

US aircraft attacks farmers in wheat field north of Samarra’, killing one, wounding three, Wednesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 1:04pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi medical sources had reported that a US warplane had attacked a number of farmers north of the city of Samarra’, about 120km north of Baghdad, killing one of them and wounding others in their continuing efforts to seize their land.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported medical sources in Samarra’ hospital as saying that the US airplane attacked farmers in a wheat field in the al-‘Abbasiyah area north of the city on Wednesday morning. One farmer was killed and three more ミ one of them a woman ミ were wounded. The medical sources said that the American attacks were an attempt to force the farmers off their land so that their fields could be turned over to the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” to build a camp there.
Bayji.
Resistance forces united under umbrella command around as-Siniyah, knocking out six US military vehicles and nine Iraqi puppet army vehicles in hard fighting on Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:18pm Makkah time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that contrary to what the puppet Iraqi Regime and the western media were claiming US and Iraqi puppet army forces have not driven the Resistance out of as-Siniyah. In fact large parts of the area are under Iraqi Resistance control.
The as-Siniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance still maintains high fighting ability and is carrying out ambushes and mobile operations striking the US and puppet regime forces effectively.
The correspondent reported that supplies had come in to the Iraqi Resistance fighters in as-Siniyah from all over Salah ad-Din Province. The Resistance organizations there have united under a unified umbrella, fighting together against US occupation troops, puppet regime forces, and the pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militia.
On Wednesday, the Resistance burned and disabled six various US military vehicles and nine vehicles belonging to the Iraqi puppet army.

Resistance blasts US base near Bayji with Katyusha rockets Wednesday night.
In a dispatch posted at 7:36pm Makkah time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance forces fired four Katyusha rockets into the main US base located between Bayji, 200km north of Baghdad, and the nearby refinery town of as-Siniyah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the four rockets set fires raging and sent smoke rising over the US base, a facility that was an Iraqi Army base prior to the US invasion in the spring of 2003.
Eyewitnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that US helicopters emblazoned with the red cross landed inside the base minutes after the rocket assault, indicating that there had been casualties.

In a dispatch posted at 1:16pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in the town of as-Siniyah, in its fifth day under US siege, puppet policemen from nearby Bayji had handed over their weapons to the Iraqi Resistance and some of the policemen had actually joined the Resistance in carrying out operations and ambushes against the US forces.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the as-Siniyah puppet police, whose members are local recruits, on Tuesday withdrew from the al-Muhit puppet police station and from the ash-Shuhada’ station and handed over their weapons to the Resistance. Some of the policemen then joined the Resistance. The puppet “Governor” of Salah ad-Din Province acknowledged the development at a press conference held in at Council of the Province in Tikrit.
The correspondent reported that three vehicles were disabled on Tuesday and four US troops killed as a result of three bombs that exploded on al-‘Arid and an-Nassaf Streets. On Wednesday, in addition to the Resistance shooting of two US troops in Bayji, and Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US foot patrol in the meat market. No information on casualties in that attack was available.
Once again on Wednesday, US forces prevented food and water being brought into the city. American troops turned back relief trucks from the Iraqi Red Crescent and the United Arab Emirates Welfare Organization. The US forces also prevented pregnant women from leaving the city for medical treatment, as a result of which four women died.
Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills two US troops in Bayji on Wednesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 12:59pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed two US troops in the al-Garajat area of the city of Bayji, about 200km north of Baghdad on Wednesday morning.
The Bayji correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that after being cut down by the Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, the two Americans lay dead in the street for about 10 minutes before their comrades approached them.
Workers in the garages in the area who wash and lubricate cars said that in response to the attack, the US troops simply opened fire from behind the cover of their vehicles and from behind walls in the general direction of where the sharpshooter’s bullets had come. It took them 10 minutes before they got up the courage to approach the bodies of their dead companions still lying in the street.
Diyala Province.
Ba‘qubah.
At least two US troops killed in massive bomb attack in Ba‘qubah late Wednesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 2:07pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb went off by a US personnel carrier in Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad, on Wednesday morning.
The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the massive explosion destroyed the personnel carrying and killed or wounded six US Marines, two of them reduced to charred bodies.
A source in the puppet security forces told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb, which had been planted by the side of the road in the as-Sanadiyah area to the north of Ba‘qubah exploded by a US troop transport vehicle opposite the Irrigation Department at 11am local time Wednesday morning.
The blast set the vehicle on fire, reducing two of the six Marines aboard to charred bodies.
After the attack, US forces sealed off the entire area and closed down the Irrigation Department. The Americans arrested a number of the employees of the Irrigation office, claiming that they had not informed the occupation troops about the bomb and were protecting the Iraqi Resistance fighters. The area remained closed off at the time of reporting.
Al-Khalis.
Resistance car bomb blasts puppet police in al-Khalis on Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:33am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in the al-Khalis area, about 60km north of Baghdad on Tuesday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police in Ba‘qubah as saying that an explosives-laden car that was parked by the side of the street near al-Khalis General Hospital blew up when a puppet police patrol was driving past. The source said that the attack severely damaged one of the patrol vehicles, wounding four puppet policemen and three civilians who were near the scene at the time.

Resistance fighters gun down puppet police captain in al-Hawijah Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 1:54pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed a captain in the Iraqi puppet police in the northern city of al-Hawijah on Wednesday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reporteda source in the local puppet police in Kirkuk as saying that Resistance fighters armed with machine guns shot and killed the captain as he was on his way to work in al-Hawijah. The source revealed no details on the identity of the captain.

Resistance bomb disables US Humvee near Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol near Kirkuk in northern Iraq on Wednesday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb went off by a US patrol on the main road linking Kirkuk with Bayji. The witnesses said that the blast damaged and completely disabled a US Humvee, killing or wounding its crew.
