Resistance fire forces down US helicopter near ar-Ramadi Monday night.
In a dispatch posted at 11:45pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance fighters had forced down a US helicopter in the ar-Ramadi area, about 110km west of Baghdad.
The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Bu 'Ubayd neighborhood as saying that they saw an American helicopter that had been hit by Resistance fire making a forced landing. They said, however, that they heard no explosion so the aircraft was believed to be intact. They, stressed, however, that smoke was pouring from the rear of the helicopter when it landed.

In a dispatch posted at 10:59pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at thathour an American tank was shooting at houses of civilian residents in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood of the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad.
US tanks shelled the house of a local family in the city a short while before the correspondent filed his report. Eyewitnesses said that attack on the house, located in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood, had totally destroyed the structure and killed all the members of a family of 11 persons. Preliminary indications were that no one had survived the American attack on the private home because of the intense nature of the American bombardment on the residential area, ambulances were unable to get through to evacuate the dead and tend to any survivors in the area.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that extremely violent fighting was underway in the al-Mal'ab neighborhood of he city where Resistance men were engaging US occupation troops. Mosques were appealing to the Americans no to shoot at ambulances and fire trucks that were trying to evacuate dead and wounded from the area, but US forces were refusing to listen.

In a dispatch posted at 12:13pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance carried out a bomb offensive against US occupation troops in ar-Ramadi on Sunday afternoon, detonating targeting the Americans with four explosive devices.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ar-Ramadi as saying that Resistance men panted four bombs in the at-Ta’mim neighborhood of western ar-Ramadi and detonated them in a coordinated manner by a US military column. The series of explosions destroyed an American tank and disabled a Humvee. Eight US soldiers were killed in the attack.
The witnesses said that US troops responded by shooting everywhere around the area where the attack took place. They also turned their guns on a group of civilians who were celebrating the destruction of the tank. The vengeful American assault on the civilians left 15 dead and another 15 wounded, most of them children.

US troops storm Palestinian residential complex in Baghdad, arrest six Palestinian men, three Palestinian women.
In a dispatch posted at 2:19pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops arrested three Palestinian refugee women in Baghdad after raiding their homes in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Palestinian residential complex in the Baghdad district of al-Baladiyat as saying that US troops stormed into the complex at 2:30am on Sunday morning. They conducted raids and searches of apartments in the complex and arrested six Palestinian men and three Palestinian women residents there. The women arrested were Nadyah 'Ali Jabr, al-Hajjah Nidal Isma'il 'Abd al-'Aziz, and Sumr Samir.
The correspondent reported that the Iraqi Muslim Scholars Association issued a statement in which it accused the Americans of arresting and humiliating the women by having their soldiers search them and put signs behind the heads of all of them.
There are an estimated 34,000 Palestinians in Iraq, many refugees since the establishment of the Zionist colonial state "Israel" in 1948. The Palestinian community there has issued numerous appeals in response to a campaign of harassment, persecution, and frequently murder that began following the American occupation of Iraq in the spring of 2003.
US launches attacks on Baghdad’s Madinat ash-Shu'lah area Monday night.
In a bulletin posted at 11:31pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the fifth, sixth, and eight, districts of the Madinat ash-Shu'lah area of Baghdad were at the time of reporting under US air assault.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American F-16 fighter bombers were at that moment striking the area, known as a stronghold of the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia. Eyewitnesses reported that the American attack was targeted on two schools and a football field as well as two headquarters of the Jaysh al-Mahdi. A witness who lives in the immediate vicinity of the targeted area told Mafkarat al-Islam that the sounds of ambulance sirens could be heard, indicating that there had been casualties.
Clashes between the Jaysh al-Mahdi and US forces had broken out as well, the witnesses reported. Residents of al-Ghazaliyah, adjacent to ash-Shu'lah said that the US attack was focused on headquarters of the Jaysh al-Mahdi and that the Americans were carrying out searches in the area.
In a bulletin posted at 11:43pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces had begun searching houses in the fifth district of ash-Shu'lah at that moment. The correspondent indicated that a number of Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen had been arrested by the Americans in the sweep. US troops raided Shi'i mosques in the district as well as offices of the Muqtada as-Sadr movement.

Bombs shake eastern Baghdad Monday morning.
A mysterious bomb exploded by a passenger bus in eastern Baghdad on Monday, killing or wounding at least 40 people, Quds Press reported.
A puppet police source told Quds Press that a violent explosion rocked the ash-Sha'b area of eastern Baghdad. The blast apparently was targeted on a bus that was passing through the area. Preliminary reports indicated that a car bomb went off by the bus, but, the puppet police claimed, further investigations had shown that the blast was caused by a person wearing an explosive belt and blowing himself up inside the bus.
Puppet police rushed to close off the area, preventing anyone from approaching. Ambulances were seen carrying wounded people to al-Kindi General Hospital for treatment.
Earlier on Monday, an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a check point near the Iranian embassy in Baghdad, wounding a number of puppet policemen and inflicting material damage to cars and buildings nearby.

US soldier reported killed by Resistance sharpshooter in Bayji midday Monday.
In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the middle of Bayji, about 200km north of Baghdad, at midday Monday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that an American soldier was atop the wall of the governorate building in Bayji when he took a direct hit in the head from an Iraqi Resistance bullet. Witnesses said that the soldier fell lifeless from the wall to earth.
US troops responded by opening fire indiscriminately, severely wounding a woman and an elderly man who were later taken to the one hospital in the city for treatment.

Director of coordination center working with US troops targeted by Resistance bomb in Tikrit Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:40pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the motorcade of Colonel 'Abbas ad-Dulaymi, the Director of the "Tikrit Center for Joint Coordination" between US and Iraqi puppet forces in the al-Qadisiyah area of northern Tikrit, about 120km north of Baghdad. The attack took place in the city on Sunday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the bomb slightly wounded ad-Dulaymi but totally destroyed the car in which he was riding.

Al-Miqdadiyah.
US officer reported captured by Iraqi Resistance near al-Miqdadiyah.
In a dispatch posted on Monday, Quds Press quoted sources close to the Iraqi Resistance in al-Miqdadiyah, about 85km northeast of Baghdad as saying that they had captured a US officer in the area on Sunday. The American side had made no mention of any of their officers going missing or being captured.
The sources told Quds Press that the Resistance in al-Miqdadiyah had carried out an attack on a US military column there, in the course of which they captured an American officer who was in one of the vehicles. The attack took place on a rural road and left one US vehicle destroyed. Resistance men surrounded the other vehicle and found the officer inside.
Since Sunday, the sources said, US forces have been trying to learn the fate of their captured officer. He source noted that the area around al-Miqdadiyah has been witnessing extensive activity by US and Iraqi puppet army forces. Roadblocks have been set up creating checkpoints at the entrances and exits to the city and a number of local people have been arrested.
Local residents told Quds Press that US forces deployed in obvious strength in the area and outside al-Miqdadiyah after an American helicopter crashed the night before in a garden near the city. After the crash, US troops raided a memorial meeting in the city and arrested 35 local people.

US forces begin major sweep through cities south of Baghdad Monday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 7:25pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces backed by Iraqi puppet troops had launched a campaign of attacks, searches, and arrests in the area south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that the campaign, code named "high tide," is aimed at arresting Iraqi Resistance fighters who the Americans believe are deployed in al-Latifiyah, al-Mahmudiyah, and al-Mada’in.
The correspondent indicated that the American offensive began on Monday morning with the complete sealing off of the cities, preventing anyone from entering or leaving. Curfews have been imposed on the cities and US troops have begun raids, searches, and arrests on a wide scale.
The correspondent reported that no media reportage has been allowed of the sweep in which many have been subjected to extensive beatings and arrests.
The correspondent reported that the Americans had filled up four large trucks with men they had arrested. All were blindfolded and bound and driven away to unknown destinations.

Director of electrical station killed in Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted at 11:39am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men shot and killed the director of the Mulla 'Abdallah electrical station in Kirkuk on Sunday evening.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that unknown men armed with machine guns opened fire on 'Abdalah Hamzah, the director of the station as he was on his way to the town of Dibis. He died instantly.
Ninwa Province.
Tall 'Afar.
US Marine reported shot to death by Resistance sharpshooter in Tall 'Afar on Monday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 10:05pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas neighborhood in the middle of Tall 'Afar, about 55km west of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq, at 4:30pm local time Monday afternoon.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US Marines were manning a checkpoint they had set up opposite the post office and the Tuffahah Market in the area, when one of the Americans took a direct hit in the head from a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly.
Witnesses said that the Marine took a few unbalanced steps after being hit and then fell motionless to earth covered in blood. The other Marines responded by opening fire indiscriminately at houses, shops, and passers by, killing two local people and wounding seven more in varying degrees of severity.
Al-Mawsil.
Two US troops reported killed by Resistance rocket attack in al-Mawsil Monday.
In a dispatch posted at 6:23pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked US troops in the al-Mithaq neighborhood in the middle of the city of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq on Monday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two US troops who were standing by an armored Humvee were killed when a Resistance anti-tank rocket blasted directly into the vehicle.
The correspondent reported residents of the area as saying that the American troops were blown apart by the force of the blast and that other US soldiers had to gather the body parts in plastic bags.
Earlier, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in southwestern al-Mawsil. A source in the Iraqi puppet police said that the blast went off by an American patrol near the Abu Tamam interchange in the al-Yarmuk section of the city.
