Resistance blasts US headquarters in al-Hadithah Thursday night with massive mortar and rocket barrage.

In a dispatch posted at 11:07pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces blasted the headquarters that US forces have set up in the education building in downtown al-Hadithah with a massive barrage of more than 30 mortar shells and Katyushar rockets igniting a massive fire in the US-occupied facility that sent smoke billowing into the sky.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that more than 20 US troops were reported killed or wounded in the barrage, the heaviest seen in al-Hadithah in months. The American casualties were evacuated to the US military hospital in al-Habbaniyah, the source reported. A source in the Iraqi puppet army in the city confirmed the report, saying that US helicopters transported the casualties to al-Habbaniyah about half an hour after the attack.

After the barrage, US forces imposed a curfew on the city and at the time of reporting swarms of US warplanes and helicopter gun ships were prowling the sky above the city.

Resistance sharpshooters reportedly kill three US troops in al-Hadithah Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 11:01pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance marksmen shot and killed three US soldiers in the city of al-Hadithah, about 220km northwest of Baghdad Thursday afternoon.

The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at 3:30pm local time Thursday afternoon two US soldiers were shot and killed by an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter on the Hajlan Bridge in al-Haqlaniyah, near al-Hadithah. Local residents saw the Americans’ bodies sprawled in the middle of the bridge. A third US soldier was shot and killed by an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter at the heights near the US military camp in Barwanah at 4pm Thursday afternoon. Residents who witnessed the attack saw a helicopter land near the scene to evacuate the body.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance fighters battle US Marines in al-Fallujah early Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:30pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces and US occupation troops engaged in combat in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that fighting took place in the 40 Street area at about 8:15am local time between Resistance men and US Marines accompanied by their Iraqi puppet “National Guard” allies. During the fighting, which lasted for more than 15 minutes, Resistance men fired light and medium weapons. No information was available on the nature or extent of casualties because the battle itself was intense and then US troops surrounded the area. Afterwards, American patrols combed the streets of al-Fallujah.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance bomb wounds US troops east of ar-Ramadi Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol east of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad on Wednesday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road from ar-Ramadi to al-Khalidiyah went off by a US patrol in the al-Madiq area, about 15km east of ar-Ramadi, severely damaging a Humvee and wounding all the troops who were aboard it.

The witnesses said that there were about three Americans on the vehicle; all were evacuated after the explosion. Meanwhile, the US troops in the patrol opened fire around the area indiscriminately and then arrested five local residents who happened to be nearby. The Americans used loudspeakers to order local people to stay in their houses as helicopters prowled the skies above at low altitudes.

Hit.

Resistance attack leaves US soldier reported dead in Hit Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons assault a US patrol on Hijab Street in the middle of the old city of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad, on Wednesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack left one American soldier dead and several others wounded. The Americans immediately responded by shooting wildly around the area, destroying eight private cars that were parked in the area and terrifying local residents who closed their shops and stores and went home.

Some time later, the Americans retaliated further by blowing up the house of a local man named ‘Abd al-Karim in the New Citadel District on the pretext that they found arms and ammunition in his home. Eyewitnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that many people in the neighborhood were wounded because when the house exploded glass from it and from many neighboring dwellings shattered and flew through the air.

Some eyewitnesses said that during Wednesday-Thursday night US forces carried out a massive sweep through the New Citadel District of Hit, arresting numerous local residents and taking them away to their prison in the base that the Americans have set up in the Hit train station.

Al-Khalidiyah.

US air strike destroys abandoned home near al-Khalidiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US warplanes struck a house in al-Khalidiyah, about 90km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the American attack totally destroyed the house of Shaykh Fanar al-Kharbit but caused not casualties. Witnesses explained that already some time ago residents of the houses in that area had abandoned their homes because the Americans carry out air strikes there all the time for no apparent reason.

Resistance car bomber blasts puppet “National Guard” checkpoint in al-Khalidiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:25am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a checkpoint manned by Iraqi puppet “National Guards” in al-Khalidiyah, about 90km west of Baghdad, sparking a gunbattle.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a car bomb exploded by a checkpoint set up near the al-Khalidiyah Bridge in the Jazirat al-Khalidiyah area. After the explosion, the source said, Resistance men opened fire with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades.

The source made no disclosure of information regarding the nature or extent of casualties, but witnesses said that puppet “National Guards” had indeed been killed or wounded but could not give a precise figure.

Baghdad.

Resistance men kill brigadier general in puppet “Border Guard” forces in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance men shot and killed a high-ranking officer in the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry in southern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet security services who asked not to be identified as saying that a brigadier general with the puppet “Border Guard” forces who are under the puppet “Interior Ministry” was shot and killed when he was surprised at a car repair shop in the al-I‘lam neighborhood of as-Sayyidiyah in southern Baghdad. The attackers opened fire on him with light arms, killing him instantly.

Puppet police patrol targeted by bomb, car bomb in southeastern Baghdad Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 4:20pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a puppet police patrol in the al-Ghadir district of southeastern Baghdad on Thursday.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a Resistance fighter drove a car bomb near a puppet police patrol in al-Ghadir, wounding two puppet policemen among others.

Then, when people gathered around the scene, a bomb that had been planted in the area blew up, killing more puppet policemen and civilians who had gathered in the area. One policeman and one civilian were killed in the attack and two more puppet policemen wounded.

Resistance bomb wounds US troops in ash-Shurjah area of Baghdad Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column in the middle of
Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported shopkeepers in the ash-Shurjah commercial district who witnessed the attack as saying that the bomb, which had been planted by al-Jumhuriyah Street in the area went off by a US column on Thursday, disabling a vehicle and wounding a number of American troops.

Al-Khalis.

Mysterious blast targets shoppers in al-Khalis market Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 11:13pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a mysterious bomb exploded in a crowded market in al-Khalis, about 60km north of Baghdad at 5:15pm local time Thursday afternoon.

The al-Khalis correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the explosion came from a high-yield bomb that had been planted in the middle of a sidewalk heavily trafficked by shoppers in the market. Twenty-one civilians were killed or wounded in the blast, which also destroyed a large number of shops and stores.

The puppet police arrested a man they said was carrying a remote control device that they believe might have been used in the blast, but no information was released about the man’s identity.

Babil Province.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

Five mercenary security guards killed in Resistance ambush on American vehicles in al-Mahmudiyah Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 11:19pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a column of vehicles belonging to a US mercenary security company as it passed along the highway in al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad at 3pm local time Thursday afternoon.

The al-Mahmudiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that in the course of the attack a shoulder-launched RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade totally destroyed a four-wheel-drive vehicle carrying mercenaries. Everyone aboard the vehicle ﾐ a total of five foreigners of unknown nationalities ﾐ was killed.

A second vehicle in the column was also damaged after its front tire was hit and the vehicle flipped over. Witnesses said that it was going at very high speed when the Resistance fighters opened up on its front tires, causing it swerve and flip over. The fate of the men aboard that vehicle is unknown, the correspondent reported. US occupation forces arrived in the area a short while after the attack. They sealed off the area and began searching houses and groves near the street but found nothing of significance.

Al-Musayyib.

Resistance blasts US base with Katyusha rockets Wednesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 12:40pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a Katyusha rocket barrage into the US base located in al-Musayyib, about 70km south of Baghdad on Wednesday evening. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the rockets struck their target setting off explosions inside the base and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Kirkuk.

Resistance bombs target puppet police targets in Kirkuk.

In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a by the motorcade of Colonel Taha Salah ad-Din one of the commanders of the puppet police in Kirkuk in northern Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the Resistance bomb went off in the “90” area near the Baghdad car park, but the Colonel escaped without injury and indeed the bomb reportedly caused no damage or casualties.

Another Resistance bombing was more effective, however. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that a Resistance bomb that exploded by a puppet “Rescue Police” patrol near the Old Academy blew up by a puppet police patrol and wounded three puppet policemen.
