Four Resistance bombs rip through US column in Hit, leaving six Americans reported dead.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded simultaneously by a US column in the Zawiyyat al-Bu Nimr area along the Euphrates River east of Hit, about 165km northwest of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported First Lieutenant Sa‘dun Muhammad al-Balwah of the Hit puppet police as saying that four bombs exploded at one time by the US column, destroying two American vehicles an killing at least six US occupation troops and wounding others.

Al-Balwah said that after the attack, American forces cut the roads and surrounded the area. They then launched a campaign of raids and arrested taxi drivers who happened to be stopped in az-Zawiyyah and other local men who were standing waiting by a barbershop near the scene of the attack, a total of seven men.

Al-Qa’im.

US warplane wipes out family of five near al-Qa’im at dawn Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:58am GMT time Monday morning, Quds Press reported that US warplanes struck a home in the town of al-Qa’im near the Syrian border, killing all five members of the family that lived there.The correspondent for Quds Press reported a medical source in al-Qa’im Hospital as saying that his facility had received the bodies of five members of a family ﾐ a man, his wife and their three children ﾐ after their house was attacked by an American warplane. In a dispatch posted at 11pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the owner of the house was named Ahmad ‘Ali Fayhan al-‘Ani.

Quds Press reported the source said that an American fighter plane rocketed the home in the village of Wadi al-Fahimiyah east of al-Qa’im after the dawn prayers on Monday, killing everyone inside. The source said that the attack was as sudden surprise as there had been no fighting or armed attacks in the area and in fact the area where the house was located was regarded as one of the most peaceful in the region. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent quoted a medical source as saying that al-‘Ani’s home was located on a large farm where there had been on armed attacks, a fact that raised many questions about the reason for the American attack.

Quds Press reported that a US military source refused to comment on the air raid but that rage was building in the city as a result of this latest American attack on civilians.

Resistance sharpshooter kills US sniper atop building in al-Qa’im on Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US occupation soldier in the city of al-Qa’im in western Iraq near the Syrian border on Sunday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an American soldier who was perched atop the puppet police station, which the Americans have occupied and turned into their local headquarters, took a direct hit from the Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance battles US troops for two hours in ar-Ramadi on Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces ambushed US troops in ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad, on Sunday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that Resistance fighters ambushed a US patrol as it drove onto 17 Tammuz Street in the al-Jam‘iyah neighborhood in the middle of town. Resistance fighters detonated an explosive device by the patrol, completely disabling a Humvee.

The source said that the Resistance men fired rocket-propelled grenades and light and medium weapons, taking advantage of the state of confusion in which the Americans found themselves after the initial bomb blast. Fierce fighting went on for more than two hours after the explosion. Afterwards, the source said, the Americans sealed off the entire district and no information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.

Al-Hadithah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that for the fourth straight day US troops accompanied by their Iraqi puppet army allies have kept the Iraqi town of ‘Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad, sealed off as they raid and search one neighborhood after another.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ‘Anah as saying that the Americans and the Iraqi puppet forces had not only closed the city to the outside world but sealed off neighborhoods one from the other. They closed the Industrial Zone, 3km from the center of the city, from the other residential neighborhoods using cement obstacles and earthen barricades. They then carried out extremely extensivesearches in all the houses of the neighborhood.

The correspondent reported that the searches are more like interrogations, as the soldiers get full information from the people living in the house, the males in particular, as they search their home. The information they seek covers all aspects of their personal status and work and even goes so far as the taking of photographs of the adult males in the family.

Officially the city is now open and people can enter and leave. But the US and Iraqi puppet forces have set up an extremely obstructive checkpoint at the entrance to the city. There anyone trying to enter ‘Anah is subjected to a provocative search. One witness said that the troops search cars one at a time and each car search takes at least half an hour and frequently a full hour without any justification. People wanting to leave ‘Anah must get permission from the soldiers at the checkpoint to exit.

Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance bomb blasts Iraqi puppet army troops in Abu Ghurayb noon Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:22pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of US troops accompanied by the Iraqi puppet army allies in Abu Ghurayb, about 30km west of Baghdad at noon on Monday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb went off by the side of a road in Abu Ghurayb at 12 noon local time. The blast damaged an Iraqi puppet army vehicle, killing one Iraqi puppet soldier and wounding two more of them.

Resistance car bomber wounds puppet policemen in Baghdad al-Jadidah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:39pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter driving an explosives-laden car blew up near an Iraqi puppet police patrol in southeastern Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the car bomb exploded in Baghdad al-Jadidah, heavily damagind a patrol vehicle and wounding five persons, three of them puppet policemen, in varying degrees of severity.

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi puppet police in eastern Baghdad on Monday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted on Muhammad al-Qasim Highway went off by a puppet police patrol, damaging one of the patrol vehicles and wounding three puppet policemen to varying degrees.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet “Iraqi National Guard” column Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:57pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” column near Tikrit on Sunday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the column was operating in the area of Tuz Khurmatu when a Resistance bomb exploded, heavily damaging one of the troop transports, killing and wounding several of the puppet troops. The puppet “Guards” sealed off the area immediately after the blast, making an assessment of the nature and extent of casualties impossible to obtain.

Yathrib.

Resistance blasts US-occupied base with Katyusha rockets.

In a dispatch posted at 12:10pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired six Katyusha rockets at the US-occupied al-Bakr Air Base near Yathrib, about 70km north of Baghdad. The facility has been dubbed Camp Anaconda by American occupation forces.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the rockets scored direct hits on the American-occupied base, setting off audible explosions that shook the facility and sent plumes of smoke rising into the sky. Witnesses reported that American helicopters hovered over the base and surrounding areas for a long time after the attack.

US soldier reported killed in Resistance bomb attack in al-Ba‘aj midday Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:29pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in al-Ba‘aj, in northwestern Iraq midday Monday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb, which went off at 1pm local time Monday, severely damaged a Humvee, killing one US soldier and wounding three more of them.

Al-Mawsil.

Resistance fighters assault puppet police checkpoint a midday Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 4:25pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces assaulted an Iraqi puppet police checkpoint in southwestern al-Mawsil. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the checkpoint at crossroads in the Hammam al-‘Alil area of southwestern al-Mawsil at midday Monday. The source said that a vehicle at the checkpoint exploded in the attack, wounding two puppet policemen.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of a road in the ar-Rummanah district of al-Mawsil blew up by a US patrol, heavily damaging an American tank and wounding several US troops who were aboard it. The Americans quickly sealed off the area after the blast, making a precise account of the nature and extent of casualties impossible to ascertain.

Member of collaborationist “Islamic Party” assassinated in al-Mawsil on Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men assassinated a high-ranking official in the Ninwa Province Educational Administration in the northern Iraqi city of al-Mawsil Sunday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a group of armed men assassinated Ra‘d Kamil al-Hayali, the Public Relations Director for Education in Ninwa Province, after he came out from Ramadan night prayers in the al-Bakr Mosque in the al-Bakr neighborhood in the northeastern part of the city. The source said the armed men sprayed al-Hayali with a hail of gunfire, killing him instantly.

Al-Hayyali was well known in al-Mawsil as a member of the so-called “Islamic Party” an organization that arose out of the Muslim Brotherhood after the American invasion of Iraq in 2003. The “Islamic Party” quickly began collaborating with the US occupation, its leader taking a seat on the puppet “Governing Council” of US proconsul L. Paul Bremer and since then trying to play an intermediary role on behalf of the Americans within the Sunni community. Al-Hayyali ha a number of publications on Islamic and cultural themes to his credit.

Rocket blasts British official’s car in al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:26pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a rocket was fired at a four-wheel-drive vehicle in the middle of the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah causing it to burst into flame.The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that local media sources said that the car belonged to a British official who was visiting the Information Center in the city. The incident was a part of an increase of attacks on occupation forces and puppet officials in the city in recent days.

Armed men attack home of spokesman for puppet Provincial Assembly of al-Basrah on Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:46am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a group of armed men attacked the home of Nazim al-Jabiri, the press spokesman for the puppet Provincial Assembly of al-Basrah in the at-Tahsiniyah district of the southern city of al-Basrah on Sunday.The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that attackers wearing uniforms of the puppet “Interior Ministry” opened fire intensely on the house.

Al-Jabiri told the press after the incident that some of those in the house battled the attackers, preventing them from getting inside. The attack was the latest of a series of assaults on high-ranking officials in the puppet provincial government and assembly. Several weeks ago the puppet governor was assassinated. Then a member of the puppet provincial assembly from the pro-American so-called “Reconciliation Movement” led by former puppet “prime minister” Iyyad ‘Allawi survived an assassination attempt.
