Iraqi Resistance fighters ambush, destroy US Bradley armored vehicle in Hit, leaving five US troops reported dead Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 10:07pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had attacked and destroyed a US Bradley armored vehicle in the city of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad, on Thursday afternoon.

The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who live in the as-Saklat Street area as saying that right after a homemade bomb exploded under a US Bradley vehicle, Resistance men armed with RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenades attacked the Americans, killing five US troops who were inside. The correspondent reported that after the attack, US troops rounded up and arrested seven local men in the area which is a center for the sale of construction materials such as sand and pebbles.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bomb throws US Humvee into river near al-Fallujah early Thursday afternoon, three American troops reported killed.

In a dispatch posted at 5:48pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US Humvee near the second aqueduct in the village of al-Fallahat at 1pm local time Thursday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the blast disabled the American vehicle and threw it into a small river that had been dug to wash away salinity from fields. The water way was about six meters across and four meters deep. The correspondent reported that the explosion killed three US troops. A fourth American soldier was pulled from the water with severe injuries.

US forces burst into home of religious leader in al-Karmah, abduct him and two brothers.

In a dispatch posted at 2:18pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops arrested the Imam of a mosque in the town of al-Karmah near al-Fallujah at dawn on Thursday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Karmah as saying that a large number of US troops stormed the home of Shaykh Walid Naji ash-Shamari, the Imam of the Badr al-Kubra moqsque in the village of Karaghul in the area of al-Karmah.

The Americans broke up and destroyed the furniture and contents of the Shaykh’s house, provocatively terrifying the women and children in the household. They then arrested the Shaykh and two of his brothers and led them away to an unknown destination.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance shoots down unmanned US spy plane over ar-Ramadi Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 3:15pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance fighters shot down an unmanned US reconnaissance airplane in the al-Jam‘iyah section of ar-Ramadi. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance men took possession of the wreckage minutes after it crashed. Afterwards, US troops sealed off he area around the al-Jam‘iyah neighborhood and declared a curfew.

Resistance car bomber blasts US column in ar-Ramadi, destroying two military vehicles.

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US military column on the main street in the middle of ar-Ramadi opposite the courthouse.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the car bomb explosion completely destroyed two American vehicles. The correspondent was unable to ascertain the nature or extent of US casualties because the Americans responded to the attack by opening fire indiscriminately all around the area, preventing anyone from approaching.

Resistance ambush leaves four US Marines, including an officer, reported dead in ar-Ramadi Thursday afternoon.

In a bulletin posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance men had ambushed a US foot patrol near a checkpoint in the as-Sufiyah area of northern ar-Ramadi.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance men hurled hand grenades, fired two anti-personnel rockets, and opened fire with medium machine guns at the American patrol in the course of a fire fight that lasted seven to 10 minutes and left four American Marines dead, one of tem an officer.

Five other Marines were wounded in the engagement, witnesses said. At the time of reporting, US troops had come in and surrounded the entire area as a large armored force entered the area and began making mass searches and arrests in the as-Sufiyah area.

US forces seal off ar-Ramadi from outside world Thursday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 2:15pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at dawn Thursday, US forces cut off the city of ar-Ramadi, the capital of western Iraq’s al-Anbar Province from the outside world. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that US occupation troops closed the bridge in the at-Ta’mim neighborhood of the city as well as the highway early Thursday morning, but made no announcement regarding the reason for the closure.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Four US troops killed in Resistance land mine explosion near al-Habbaniyah before dawn Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 5:44pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded under a US Humvee at the crossroads to al-Habbaniyah and al-Khalidiyah near the al-Bu Kharbit tribe’s houses at about 6am local time Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the mine totally destroyed the US vehicle and killed the entire crew. It too American troops half an hour to extinguish the fire in the vehicle after a US military firefighting unit arrived in the area and put it out. The charred bodies of four US troops were then extracted from the wreckage of the vehicle.

Resistance mortars pound US troops working to clear out ruined Falcon Forward Base on Thursday night.

In a bulletin posted at 10:43pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment Iraqi Resistance forces were firing mortars into the remains of the American Forward Base Falcon in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah, targeting the US engineering units working to remove wreckage from what remains of the US as-Saqr (“Falcon”) base.

The ad-Durah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance had fired more than 12 mortar rounds at the US sappers and equipment such as cranes that are being used to haul wrecked vehicles and rubble out of the camp. The Americans began bringing teams in to try to clean up the devastated area on Wednesday. Plumes of smoke could be seen Thursday night rising over what formerly was the Ameicrican Falcon Forward Base.

US trucks seen hauling burned out tanks out of Baghdad on Thursday evening, two days after Resistance barrage devastated American Falcon Forward Base arsenal.

In a dispatch posted at 10:37pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces were seen driving huge trucks carrying seven burned-out US tanks out of the city on the highway towards Saddam International Airport. The vehicles were some of the wreckage left over from the devastating Resistance bombardment of the US Forward Base Falcon arsenal late Tuesday night.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses on al-Khadami Street on the way to the airport in western Baghdad’s al-‘Amiriyah district as saying that they saw the trucks hauling the wrecked vehicles towards the airport at about 5:30pm Thursday ﾐ around the time of the evening prayer that signals the end of the daily Ramadan fast. The witnesses said the charred and wrecked tanks were being hauled out of the city westward in the direction of the airport.

The witnesses said that there were four huge trucks hauling the seven tanks and that the procession was being escorted by US Humvees. The witnesses noted that the Americans were moving the completely blackened tanks out of the city at a time of day when relatively few people would be on the streets, most of them indoors preparing for their meal after a day of fasting.

Resistance car bomb wounds puppet policemen in Baghdad’s al-Bab ash-Sharqi district Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:55pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a group of Iraqi puppet police in Baghdad on Thursday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an explosives-packed car that had been parkec by the side of a road blew up in the Gharnatah Square area of the al-Bab ash-Sharqi district of central Baghdad, wounding numerous people including three puppet policemen.

Resistance car bomb destroys US supply truck, killing drivers, on Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 12 noon Makkah time Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a US military column in the city of Balad, 80km north of Baghdad, on Wednesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an explosives-laden car that was parked by the side of the main road in Balad blew up by a US supply convoy. The explosion struck a long US truck that was loaded with provisions and supplies for US troops. The witnesses said that the blast destroyed the truck, completely burning it up, and killed all the troops who were aboard it.

Babil Province.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

US forces stage lightning raid on al-Mahmudiyah late Wednesday night, kill elderly guard at water treatment plant.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces carried out an airborne landing in the area of al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad late on Wednesday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that more than 50 US occupation troops took part in the landing after which they launched quick, surprise raids on houses and shops, arresting a large number of local residents. Eyewitnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the US forces entered the local water purification plant and killed the guard, an elderly man named Hazim Husayn al-Ghariri. They then burned his body with benzene and tossed the corpse into a cistern holding drinking water for the city.

Al-Latifiyah.

Resistance mortars pound Iraqi puppet “National Guard” checkpoint in al-Latifiyah Wednesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 1:47pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of heavy 120mm mortar rounds at a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” checkpoint in al-Latifiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad, Wednesday evening. The al-Latifiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the mortar shells scored direct hits on the checkpoint, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Al-Hillah.

Puppet police chief in al-Hillah targeted by Resistance bomb.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the motorcade of the puppet police chief of al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Babil Province puppet police as saying that the bomb, which was planted on the road to ad-Dayirah, north of al-Hillah, blew up by the motorcade in which Major Genral Qays al-Ma‘muri was riding, the puppet police chief in the city.

The blast wounded his driver and one of his guards and damaged his car but left the puppet police chief unharmed. The source said that al-Ma‘muri was on his way back from a raid that was jointly carried out with US occupation forces in the area.

Resistance bomb blasts car carrying four US security guards.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a car belonging to a US security guard company that works with the US occupation troops.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bomb, which was planted by the side of the main road in the Abu Gharq area, 5km north of al-Hillah on the way to Karbala’ Province, blew up by the car carrying the Americans.

A source in the Babil puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that there were four persons in the car but would not disclose information on the nature or extent of casualties. Eyewitnesses said that the car burst into flame after the bomb exploded and ambulances arrived on the scene to extract the dead.

Ninwa Province.

Al-Mawsil.

Fierce fighting breaks out in al-Mawsil Thursday evening; Resistance men battle Americans and their puppet regime allies into the night on both sides of Tigris River.

In a dispatch posted at 10:11pm Makkah time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment fierce fighting was under way on the right and left banks of the Tigris River in the northern Iraqi city of al-Mawsil, Iraq’s second-largest city, as Iraqi Resistance fighters battled US troops together with their puppet army and police allies backed up by Kurdish separatist Peshmergah gunmen.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the fighting erupted after the call to sunset prayer resounded over the city and was still going on into the night. Huge explosions shook the city from time to time and the sound of gunfire had resounded in the streets since the battle began.

Tall ‘Afar.

US soldier reported killed by Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet in Tall ‘Afar Thursday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 3:06pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the middle of the Tall ‘Afar district, 55km west of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq at 8:30am local time Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the American soldier opposite what formerly was the the post office was struck by a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet causing him to fall to the ground clutching his head. A few moments later he lay dead in a pool of his blood.

The witnesses said that other soldiers took the body of their comrade away from the area on a Humvee and then launched an extensive campaign of searches in the area looking for some sign of the Resistance sharpshooter, but found nothing.
