‘Anah.

Resistance mortars blast US base in ‘Anah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:50pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a mortar barrage at the US military base near the city of ‘Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad. The ‘Anah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance blasted the US camp with 14 mortar rounds, setting off powerful explosions and sending plumes of thick smoke billowing into the sky. The wail of sirens inside the American-occupied facility could be heard as US helicopters flew in over the area.

Al-Fallujah.

In day-long campaign of raids and searches, US forces arrest 81 local residents including elderly and disabled persons reportedly for use as human shields in US base east of al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:10pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces carried out a campaign of raids and searches in al-Fallujah on Monday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that US troops together with their Iraqi puppet allies launched a massive campaign of raids and searches in western and northern al-Fallujah Monday. US tanks and Humvees deployed in the neighborhoods of al-Jumhuriyah, al-Andalus, al-Mu ‘taasim, and ar-Rusafi in the middle of the city and in the neighborhoods of al-Jawlan in the north and al-Andalus al-Ula in the west of al-Fallujah.

The deployment of US and Iraqi puppet army vehicles prevented some of the local residents from opening their shops. The troops also forced a number of schools to send their pupils home at the beginning of the school day. Schools affected by the US-imposed closure included: ar-Rahman Preparatory School for Boys, the al-Fallujah Preparatory School for Girls, the al-Jumhuriyah Middle School, and the al-Asma‘i Primary School.

Checkpoints at the entrances to al-Fallujah ﾐ which had been closed on Sunday ﾐ were reopened on Monday, except for the checkpoint at the western entrance to the city. Employees of al-Fallujah General Hospital, which is located on the other side of the Euphrates River were unable to get to work because the Hospital is located in an area subject to curfew and searches.

In a dispatch posted at 10:55pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the mass raids, searches and arrests carried out by US troops in the neighborhoods of al-Andalus, al-Jawlan, al-Jisrayn, Abu al-Khayl, ash-Shuhada’, al-Jubay, and on al-Hawwaf Street that began at 6am Monday ended at 5pm Monday afternoon, local time.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in the course of the sweep, the Americans arrested 81 local residents, including elderly persons, and people listed as 60 percent disabled. The correspondent reported that the Americans took their captives to their base located east of al-Fallujah. It has been reported, the correspondent noted, that the Americans tend to put the prisoners in the American base known as “the Farm” al-Mazra‘ah to be used as human shields, as the Resistance would be reluctant to bombard the American base, knowing that there are large numbers of local residents being held prisoner there.

Resistance bomb in as-Saqlawiyah near al-Fallujah leaves US soldier reported killed.

In a dispatch posted at 4:10pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US foot patrol in as-Saqlawiyah in the area of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road blew up by passing American foot patrol, killing one US soldier and wounding a second.

Hit.

Resistance mortars bombard US headquarters in Hit Sunday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 11:08am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a mortar barrage at the US military headquarters in Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad, at sunset Sunday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Hit as saying that the mortar shells blasted into the former Teachers Training Institute in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood of Hit, a facility that the Americans have taken over and turned into their local headquarters at the western entrance to Hit. The witnesses said that the barrage elicited intense but indiscriminate return fire from the Americans inside the facility.

Later, on Sunday night US troops carried out a surprise campaign of house-to-house raids and arrests in the al-Jam‘iyah neighborhood of Hit. The Americans checked IDs of Iraqi residents and lead dozen of them away to the former Hit Railroad Station, another facility that the Americans have taken over and turned into a headquarters.

Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance bomb targets US column in Abu Ghurayb Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 4:16pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a US military column in Abu Ghurayb, about 30km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an explosives-laden car that had been parked by the side of the road blew up by a passing American column in Abu Ghurayb at 9am local time Monday. The blast set fire to a US vehicle, destroying it. No further information on the nature or extent of American casualties was available because US troops sealed off the area after the blast.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb leaves US solder reported dead on Baghdad Street in the occupied Iraqi capital Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 6:05pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on Palestine Street in eastern Baghdad on Monday afternoon.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Mustansiriyah neighborhood near Palestine Street as saying that a bomb that had been planted in a fire extinguisher and left by the side of the main way on Palestine Street near the at-Tariq food shop blew up as a patrol of four Humvees drove past.

The explosion destroyed an American vehicle and killed one US soldier and wounded three more of them, two of them probably fatally, according to the witnesses. The correspondent reported that US troops surrounded the area after the blast for about an hour and a half, during which time they hauled away the Humvee wreckage and the remains of the dead and wounded.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Bayji.

Four US troops reported dead after high-explosive Resistance bomb goes off in Bayji.

In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US vehicle in the al-Bayji area, about 200km north of Baghdad at 8am local time Monday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a first lieutenant in the al-Bayji puppet police as saying that the high-yield bomb went off by a Humvee, destroying it and killing four US troops who were aboard. After the attack US troops surrounded the Industrial Zone in the city, where the attack took place, and arrested 15 local people.

Tikrit.

Resistance bomb destroys US tanker truck in Tikrit killing two drivers Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 6:20pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US convoy in Tirkit’s Makshafiyah district at 10:15am local time Monday morning. The Tikrit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb destroyed a US tank truck, killing the two drivers in the vehicle. US military ambulances drove in and evacuated the bodies in plastic bags some time after the attack.

Kirkuk.

Resistance fighters ambush US soldier near Kirkuk Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 6:10pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and hand grenades attacked a concentration of US troops in Hwaijat al-‘Ubayd region near Kirkuk on Monday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the area reported that the Resistance men carried out their attack swiftly, catching the Americans by surprise and showering them with bullets and hand grenades. They then left the area quickly, leaving behind dead and wounded according to local eyewitnesses. The witnesses were unable to provide more specific number of US casualties.

Ninwa Province.

Tall ‘Afar.

Eight US troops reported killed in one week by new Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter in Tall ‘Afar.

In a dispatch posted at 10:35pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a new Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter appeared in the northern Iraqi city of Tall ‘Afar, west of al-Mawsil about a week ago and has already spread death and worry and anxiety among the US and Iraqi puppet army troops.

The Tall ‘Afar correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that more than eight US troops had been killed in one week by the sharpshooter. Fearful of the Resistance sniper, US troops have turned their foot patrol through the city into running patrols, feeling that running through the streets will make it more difficult for the Resistance sharpshooter to take aim.

US soldiers have also stopped poking their heads out of tanks for fear of taking a bullet from the Resistance sharpshooter. Prior to the new wave of sharpshooter attacks, the Americans regularly kept their heads outside their vehicles.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Americans and their Iraqi puppet allies believe that the sharpshooter is a Saudi, but local residents confirm that the fighter Abu Muhammad as-Su‘udi died in an earlier battle in Tall ‘Afar and that the current sharpshooter is an Iraqi member of the Islamic Army of Iraq Resistance organization.

Al-Mawsil.

Resistance bombs target puppet police in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 6:15pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol in al-Mawsil in northern Iraq at noon Monday.

The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source who asked not to be identified as saying that al-Hudaba’ General Hosptial received five bodies of Iraqi puppet troops, one of them a First Lieutenant, killed in a Resistance bomb attack in the as-Sukkar district of the city. The source said that the attack was the second of its kind. The same hospital took in two other bodies of Iraqi puppet troops after they were killed in a Resistance roadside bombing in western al-Mawsil.

Resistance fighter kills Iraqi puppet policeman to cover withdrawal of Resistance fighters following battle in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 5:55pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed an Iraqi puppet policeman in the northern city of al-Mawsil.

The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that fighting broke out between Iraqi Resistance men and a puppet police patrol near the Fifth Bridge in the city. The Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter shot one of the puppet policemen after the battle between the Resistance fighters and the puppet policemen and it appears that he was trying to facilitate the safe withdrawal of Resistance fighters from the scene of the fight.

Resistance bombards puppet police station in al-Mawsil Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 6pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a mortar barrage at a puppet police station in the northern Iraqi city of al-Mawsil. The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police command as saying that the Resistance fired several mortar rounds at the puppet police station in the Shams Gate area on Sunday. The source said that the barrage wounded four puppet policemen.
